"You want to go home too?" I ask him in bewilderment. 

Colm nods "Yeah, men this place is so fucking depressing and Khalid needs some kind of brightness in his life right now." 

It has just been a couple of hours since Roman and the other members of the pack were killed but he isn't wrong. The sun is already out and the sky is bright, almost like there wasn't a full-on massacre in this place a couple of hours ago. If I could go, I would. Right now, I have to stay because of Lowell. He is mine and his responsibilities become mine instantly and this place is his home--our home. 

"I get it. Uncle D is almost at the gates,'' he adds with a shrug. 

"You're leaving today?" 

"Yeah." 

I run my fingers through my hair "Fuck." 

He sighs "I know. I really wish I didn't have to leave you but at the same time. Khalid doesn't belong here and he needs me the most right now."
