Chapter 9

The institute sent out two squads. They were led by Isabelle and Isaac.

Arriving at the scene, what they saw was a 10 feet tall demon looking like a cross between a cat and a dog and exuding demonic energy from all parts of it's body. In it's hands was a scared little boy who looked to be around twelve years of age. What was it going to do? Of course, eat him. No humans in the surrounding was noticing what was happening, they couldn't see the demon, they didn't notice a boy was going to be food for it soon.

Immediately, Isaac took out his bow and shot an arrow towards the demon. It hit the demon's wrists, What followed was an explosion of spiritual energy. The boy fell unconscious from this and was grabbed by a shadowhunter who was tasked with taking him back to the institute to erase his memory. This was settled first.

Enraged, the demon gathered demonic energy and ran towards them.

At the institute, Nathaniel had gotten another shadowhunter to show Ian around after Isabelle left. He was told all he needed to know about the shadowhunters and the other supernaturals. The Institute is a six storey with a massive width.

The ground floor was a convergence room.The first floor is the weapons unit, The second floor is the training unit and had training rooms, The third floor is the Research and development unit. He frequently asked questions which were patiently answered even though some sounded annoying. All this took a bit more than an hour. During this time he saw them bring a boy and he saw him being compelled by a vampire before he was taken away. He had asked what was going on and got the gist of it. The tour came to an end and he was taken to a section of the convergence room for registration. He saw some shadowhunters checking out their weapons, they were making preparations. He learned they were going to backup Isabelle and the others.

"Can I go to the scene where isabelle and the others are fighting?" Ian asked the guy just after they completed his registration. " I have to get permission from the head first" he replied.

After a few minutes, the shadowhunter came and told him to follow the backup team

When it was time to go Ian left with the backup team.
