1 Living In The Streets

Arguments and swords clashing could be heard in this town filled with many people mostly poor and those who are crippled , the castle guards would come and collect tax that ripped off any poor business it's whole savings and earnings of a lifetime , the guards never expressed any concern for these people or these 'scums' who are not even worthy to be called 'people' , cries of little children were heard as their parents were being taken away whilst others were brutally killed for not paying tax.

This was the 'Leonin Town' , guards patrolled and collected tax and brutally murdered those who didn't give in even the little they had , kids who were parentless were forced to work as slaves in the mines or in the fields where they gathered wheat and cotton , if a kid was close to dying he or she would be killed immediately to show the other kids what would happen if they were slacking.

Most kids feared for their lives whilst others made it clear that it would've been better if they didn't exist anyway.

In the town there was a boy who was roaming the streets with his filthy clothes while his skin remained clean and smelt clean but no odor was present in his body , unlike the other kids he looked cheerful and happy despite the conflicts and deaths that were occuring in his home town .. in his hand was a pouch that was filled with bronze, silver and gold coins , he made his way to the bakery and asked an old man for some freshly made baked bread and some milk to go with it "Oh young man , you have been helping the town so much and you have helped me more than enough I will give you then for free and add some extra bread and milk" the old man with a white beard and his eyebrows long hanging off said "Oh thank you old man Robert" the boy reached out his hand and accepted the bread and milk "Come back again young man" the boy ran off waving back at the old man who had a smile on his face.

He ran between alleyways and the crowds with a basket full of bread and milk humming cheerfully , he then stopped infront of an alleyway blocked by bricks and knocked on the wall "Who is there?" a feminine voice asked behind the walls and with a beaming smile the boy responded "Anwyll" and suddenly after he mentioned his name the walls dropped like curtains of illusions revealing 3 dozens of elderly, middle-aged men and women as well as boys around the same age as him along with a single little girl , one of the boys in the group rushed towards Anwyll and enveloped him with a big hug "Big brother Anwyll" the muddy boy's eyes glistened with joy as he saw Anwyll and soon after the boy let go of him two more boys and a little girl who was slightly younger than all of them joined in and enveloped Anwyll with big hugs "Mariana" Anwyll patted the little girl and showed her a blissful smile "Today I have gotten you bread and milk , and look what I have alongside these foods" he retrieved three fish from underneath his shirt and all the people in the alleyway turned their heads to look at Anwyll with smiles and salivating mouths.

Anwyll made fire for the people to warm themselves whilst he prepared the food , they anxiously waited for him to complete the recipe he had promised them and their mouths salivated more as the sweet and spicy smell entered through their nose holes "Little brother Anwyll how long will you make us suffer?" one of the middle-aged men in the group said with saliva dropping down from his mouth and his eyes looked at the fish with anticipation and desire "Be patient Uncle Simon" he giggled whilst he turned and coalesced the three fish with honey and the wild spices he bought from a spice shop , once he finished cooking the fish he took a large clean clay plate from the side and put the fish to make it a little bit warm , and with that he took out the basket and out from it he put over 6 loads of bread on another large clay plate while he put the milk in the clay jars infront of the fire.

The hunger aroused from the people and he could see the anticipation in their eyes that made him wait no longer saying "Thank the Lord for meal he has give us today Amen , now guys dig in" the boy on his right hand side took one load of break and shared it into three parts and handed the two parts to the old lady beside him , and without realising anything the people had already started eating their bread and fish and drank their fresh milk until the little girl said "Big Brother Anwyll why are you not eating" she looked at Anwyll with a worried face and he replied "Ah, I'm not hungry Mariana" he smiled but unbeknownst to him the people's faces frowned when they heard him say that "Little one you haven't eaten in six days and you're getting thin , I think you should eat and that's an order little one I'm not going to tolerate this anymore" a beautiful middle aged woman with dusty blonde hair stood up from her spot and handed over her half eaten bread and fish , and before he could say anything he saw tears falling from the lady's face "Don't cry.. now Aunt Zelda .. see I'm eating" he stuffed the small chunk of bread into his mouth swallowing it with a smile and drinking the milk he had stored for them for tomorrow , the same fate fell upon the delicious fish "You know how much we care about your well being little one? you have sacrificed enough for us and again you're hurting us by not satisfying yourself , you make a living outside the alley and return with gifts and other things but we never see you having fun despite having that unreal smile on your face" the lady began crying and the others lowered their heads when they heard her say that because they had fathomed Anwyll's unreal personality when around them , he returned everyday with wounds and some little bruises on his face.

Sometimes at night they would listen at his groaning while he slept in pain , and despite everything mentioned they wanted him to just stay with them so that they can take care of the incurable illness he had , Mariana put her fish on the plate as she walked in the dirty blankets and everyone followed with sad expressions on their faces "I'm sorry" Anwyll had an apologetic smile with his eyebrows slightly faced up , but Zelda didn't say anything and went to sleep beside the little girl leaving Anwyll the only one awake.
