Lester

With his skinny body, Lester sat there staring at the black screen reflecting on everything that has occurred.

"Is he the strongest human on the planet now?" He said to himself trying to think of the powerhouses of the earth, however, he dismisses these thoughts as a few people come to mind.

"No way, the Water Prince is undisputed number one and the Sword Hero, as well as the Wolf Madman, should be stronger too." Lester ponders.

The Water Prince was another Chinese man who obtained an extremely powerful cultivation technique. He controlled water like no other, hence his name, and his strength was unimaginable. He was known to be one step away from being a Late-Stage Cultivator, due to his prowess. When someone was dubbed to be one step away from being a Late-Stage Cultivator, it meant that they had almost filled their core with World Qi. Not a single person in the world has filled their core to this level and no one knew what would happen when such a thing occurred, however, the Water Prince is the closest to it.

The measures of power in the world today are as follows: from weakest to strongest, Foundation Cultivators, Beginning Stage Cultivator, Middle Stage Cultivator, and Late Stage Cultivator.

Foundation Cultivators are cultivators who had formed their cores but not filled them with World Qi yet. Beginning Stage Cultivators were cultivators who had filled one-third of their core with World Qi, Middle Stage Cultivators were cultivators who filled two-thirds of the core with World Qi and Late Stage Cultivators had almost filled their core completely.

The Sword Hero and the Wolf Madman Were just Middle Stage Cultivators and the fact that they were one of the pillars of society today showed the difference in power between the Water Prince and the rest. He was an absolute genius in cultivating. Many have tried to say it was the cultivation he possessed, however, no one knew if he was an amazing genius or just lucky with his cultivation book.

The Sword Hero was a genius when it came to controlling World Qi, as with just a few pages of an incomplete cultivation book, he was capable of using the World Qi he possessed to control swords. His first thought was controlling guns, however, he later found out why World Qi was the most dangerous weapon in the world. If someone surrounded themselves with World Qi bullets would be unable to damage it, only World Qi could affect World Qi. He could try to surround the bullets with World Qi but the task seemed impossible, which meant people quickly changed to different kinds of weapons.

To Lester, it was a strange sight seeing people carrying spears, swords, and axes around in this day and age.

The Wolf Madman was different from the two. He obtained a cultivation book that allowed him to transform into an alien creature, however, the book just like many others wasn't complete, therefore, through careful research and pattern analyzing he was able to create the next stages of his cultivation book and transformed into a gigantic powerful wolf. The wolf was much different from the wolves on Earth, however, as there were alien features on it. The wolf was also much bigger than a bus and extremely powerful, capable of destroying cities like the movies.

Transformation has been one of the most mainstream cultivation techniques as there was an abundance of those in the cargo ship which crashed into the earth. Some strange creatures have appeared, whilst many of them being a combination between Earth beasts and alien ones.

"Li Xiao must be one step away from being a Middle-Level Cultivator, but who knows! The top 10 strongest cultivators in the world are constantly changing." Lester admitted as he began to stand up, placing his little booklet down and tucking the chair into the table.

He begins to walk towards one of the doors, however, as he is walking, his steps take a pause. A small cabinet is next to him against the wall, with only one drawer, and as he looks at it, his heart races. Beads of sweat appear on his forehead as his hand begins to shake. Glancing away from the cabinet he shakes his head and continues towards the door.

He was living in a small house in a remote part of the Philippines. Lester was neither Asian nor from here, his parents traveled around the world quite often, and the Philippines just happened to be the last destination before death thought it was time to take them away. His parents died in the same year and Lester took a liking to this place. It was peaceful and remote. After traveling so much, he began to despise huge crowds and people, he had already experienced it all from traveling so much. In fact, he traveled so much that he was born in a flight over the ocean. There has been much paperwork done and problems that their family had to deal with. Lester has been living here for the past 8 years, just before the day of contact.

As he entered the room, there was a bed as well as a small television on a stand. Lester walks to the bed and sits as he turns the television on.

The television shows an Asian woman in casual clothing speaking to the camera like any other newscaster. On the screen were red letters that read "Breaking News" as she was speaking about Li Xiao and his breakthrough in his cultivation technique.

"Damn they are fast aren't they?" Lester spoke impressed at their speed as he began to raise the volume of the television.

"The Chinese government is recruiting young cultivators to join their Cultivation Division. You will be guaranteed a cultivation technique as long as you swear loyalty to China." The woman continued speaking.

Although countries came together in research and they would most likely come together in the case of an alien invasion, however, this did not prevent them from trying to be the strongest.

"In other news, be careful with online cultivation books, a thirty-one years old man died last night in his home after attempting to cultivate an online cultivation book called, "One Step From God." Online cultivation is dangerous and something everyone should avoid." The woman continued speaking the news, however, Lester was beginning to feel tired. He turned the television off and lay back on his bed facing upwards.

"If I was a cultivator…" Lester murmured as he began to imagine himself fighting monsters and soaring through the skies like a deity.

As he continues to imagine himself using god-like power, the same small cabinet appears in his mind, making his mind race and his body feel excited. Dispelling his thoughts he shakes his head and closes his eyes.
