Chapter 45 - You Too?

"Give me the keys!"

Having had enough fun, my father stretched his hand and snatched the keys from mine.

Then he turned toward uncle Zaid and asked,

"What do you want to eat?"

Uncle Zaid thought for a second and said,

"What do you think about Shawarma sandwiches? It's easier to eat and won't make a mess"

My father nodded his head in agreement, then walked directly to the car.

Isn't he going to ask what we want to eat? Shouldn't our opinion be valid? Why are you ignoring us?

I looked at Salem and he looked back at me. We had the same speechlessness on our faces, these people are really too much.

Shaking my head, I followed after my father to ride in the car while Salem went to tell the other two what's on the menu.

Before the car could drive out of the warehouse, a loud voice came to our ears screaming,

"Laith! Let them put extra garlic sauce! Like F*ck it up with sauce!"

You don't have to guess the source of this scream, it's Walid for sure.

Extending my hand out of the window, I made an Okay gesture, telling him I got it.

"He is louder than his father."

Father said nonchalantly, commenting on Walid.

"It can't be helped, the repair shop is always noisy, you have to talk loudly to be heard in there. He has been playing there since he was born."

I had to make an excuse for the homie, even if he is not here.

"Hmm."

My father hummed in response and didn't add anything else and the car went silent.

The sky outside was already dark, and the night had come. Light bulbs have replaced the sun to illuminate the world, bringing a different and unique scenery that makes the soul sight.

Just kidding, what scenery and what soul. Other than giant warehouses, trucks, and workers, there is not even a leaf in here.

Looking at the building outside the warehouse complex, you could barely see one or two houses with their lights turned on. The rest, either they didn't have electricity or are trying to save on the bills.

And most likely, they didn't have electricity right now, because the street lights aren't lit right now, you could even see some stars in the sky.

We have to thank our dirty politicians for leading us to this point, they are concerned about the light pollution! Our kids should have the chance to see the stars in the sky!

Driving to the complex gate, we had to lie in a queue, just like when we got in. Moreover, the queue is even longer for some reason.

"The queue is even longer than when we came in."

I tried making a conversation with my father because I was getting bored.

Nevertheless, all I got in return was,

"Hmm."

A nod and a hum…. wtf old man, can't you see me trying to hold a conversation with you here?

I got angry, livid, outraged, so I did the cruelest thing possible.

*twist*

A smile on my face, I twisted it with no mercy.

*sip*

Then I put my mouth on the opening and sipped.

Hehe, so sweet!

What? Why did you bring the garlic! What? Don't have a Cross? Why would you need a Cross!? Hey! Why are you letting your young brother pee in a bottle!? What? A virgin boy's urine can ward off evil in Chinese mythology?

Hey! Don't talk nonsense! I didn't twist someone's head! And I'm not drinking blood!

It's a pack of meal replacement jello! It has a cap that you have to twist! And the jello inside is sweet!

Hey don't talk to me anymore, you and I are no longer friends!

Ehem! Please ignore my mental dialogue just now.

Anyway, it's almost our turn, only three cars and one truck are ahead of us. The truck was the last in line directly in front of us, blocking most of our line of vision.

Time passed and the moment the truck finished the inspection and drove away, my line of vision to the outside became clear again.

*woom*

Just as my sight landed outside, the area between my eyebrows began to tingle again, though this time the intensity was 50% less than usual. Looks like I'm getting used to it.

A new stream of information graced my brain and presented me with another status screen. Yay!

Yay, my a**!

Every time the status screen comes out, it means things are bad.

Without even looking at the screen, I grabbed my father's hand all of a sudden just as he was about to move forward in line to get the inspection.

He flinched at my sudden action, then looked at me with a frown and asked,

"Why are you grabbing my hand?"

I looked at him seriously, squeezed his hand tightly, and said,

"I will explain later, please go back in."

He looked back at me with a deeper frown, then he seemed to realize something, so he nodded back at me.

I let go of his hand when I saw him nod. Then he made a U-turn, much to the confusion of the guards waiting to inspect our car.

As my father drove back to the warehouse, I started looking at the status screen that appeared just now.

[Remark]

Let's see what f*cked up sh*t we have this time.

Ignoring the name and race rows, I focus on the job, wanting to see the details.

[Job: Gangster (low level) - drug dealer (part-time)]

He got the same jobs as Rafik, the first person appraised! Is it a coincidence? However, I noticed a difference in the gangster job rank. Last time, that person had the rank 'lowest', whereas this time, it's just 'low'. Not a big difference, but it's still a difference.

[####%@: none]

Let's ignore that one too. It's still the same.

[body attributes:

Age: 27

Height: 1.8

State: healthy

Strength: 1.1

Stamina: 1.2

Agility: 1.2

Intelligence: 1.1

Wisdom: 1.1

Defense: 0.5 + 0.3

@$&)@$@: 0.1

@&#%@##~ ]

His strength is a little less than Rafik's. However, he has more points in almost all the other attributes. No wonder he has a higher job than Rafik!

Rafik, you have to work harder! Stop playing around.

His defense has three extra points. Is he wearing some protective clothes or was it because Rafik wore thin clothes?

Anyway, let's see what is next! The Remark 'row' gives the most information.

[ Remark: Born to a middle-class family. However, his father liked to gamble. By the time he graduated from high school, his father had lost his college savings. after two years of being jobless, a friend introduced him to the casino and has been working as a low-level gangster under the Zawat casino since then. Because he has some brains, there is some talk about increasing his position in the gang.

Likes smoking and drinking, his s*xual orientation is normal and because of his good looks, he managed to hook up with his superior wife.

He got the news that the people who shot his superior are currently inside the 'Seron International' complex. So he brought their unit, consisting of 12 people, except for the boss to lay outside, and wait for them to get out.
