Chapter 41 - Don't Rise The Flag Or I Will Raise Your Tombstone

In about 3 minutes, exit 19 appeared in our sight. As we took the exit, I Kept on looking back to make sure no one was following us, and thankfully no one did.

Exit 19 led us to what looked like an industrial area, where a mishmash of different industries is present. However, if you look at the buildings, you would realize that only the shops under the building are industrial, while the rest is residential, with people living in them.

"It must be like hell to live here! The noise is deafening! And I thought our repair shop was noisy!"

Walid loud voice came from the phone, the next moment you could hear Adam saying.

"If we talk about being noisy, you would win. Can you stop yelling like a dog all the time?"

"Who do you call a donkey muscle brain!"

"What did you say little doggy!?"

The two were about to start a 'fight', which is more of something to vent their nervousness. However, we don't have the luxury of time for them to do that right now.

"Can the two of you reschedule this argument for later? We have to turn on the fourth turn, don't miss the turn, It might be hard to turn back."

They didn't reply, but the arguing stopped.

After turning on the fourth turn, a small street with the same situation as the rest of the area was presented in front of us.

At the end of the street, a huge concrete wall blocked the way forward. Standing at a height of 3 meters with a setting similar to the one seen at Karam petroleum. With guards standing on elevated platforms and carrying all sorts of guns.

The gate is a slide gate, where they have to slide the gate in one direction to open it. Of course, it's also huge, made of steel, and comparable to the width of a four-lane street.

Through the gate, you could see the warehouse complex. It's not an underestimate to describe the complex as huge. Giant warehouses one after the other appeared in sight.

At the top of the gate, a huge arched sign reads 'Seron International', with a big parking lot in front of the complex.

"D*mn! That's a big a** complex!"

Walid's voice rang through the phone.

"Seron International? This is my first time hearing about this company."

Salem said.

Hmm, I feel like the name Seron is kinda familiar, but I don't remember where I heard this name before.

"Drive to the gate first. Also, slow down so we can drive at the front."

I said while still thinking of the familiarity of the name Seron. While Salem passed the fuel truck and let them follow after us.

Driving to the gate, we could see clearly that the security here is even heavier than the one we saw before. There is at least four times the number of guards at the door. The ones we could see outside amounted to 12. Well, that's natural. Because the amount of trucks here is huge, so is the size. Many of the trucks are six-wheel trailers.

We had to wait in line for quite some time, about 15 minutes before we reached the gate. I pulled down the window as a pair of guards holding a short nozzle M-16 AR came toward us, while another pair went toward the truck behind us.

The pair were one middle-aged man in his forties accompanied by a young guard that looked like he had just come out of high school.

"What work do you hav..."

The middle-aged guard was about to ask the usual question he would ask anyone coming through the gate. However, after coming beside the car his body and speech stopped abruptly.

*fumble* *grab* *shik*

He got goosebumps and started fumbling around to grab his weapon, his hand missing it twice, even though the rifle is strapped on him, looking a bit comical.

Surprisingly the young man behind him was even faster in grabbing his gun and pointing it at us, then spoke with a serious face.

"If you reach for the gun, I will have to shoot you both. Let's not make it tough for all of us! Please raise your hands to where I can see them!"

We were confused for a second. What is this situation? Then it dawned on me.

I looked around and saw the guns in our hands and my opened backpack filled with shiny bullets. This seems wrong no matter how you look at it.

"Hehe! Two brothers, there is a bit of misunderstanding here!"

Salem gave a nervous chuckle while trying to calm the two guards as he raised his hands up. Of course, I did the same, What? Do you think I'm some arrogant young master that dares to lash back? Or do you think of me as some MC with a death-seeking mentality?

"Why are you carrying weapons while coming in here!?"

The middle-aged guard asked vigilantly.

Salem looked at me, and I looked at him, what should we say?

"It's a misunderstanding! I was doing some maintenance while he was driving, and didn't notice we had arrived! Someone is supposed to let us in when we arrive!"

I said trying to explain why we are carrying guns, and I'm failing badly it seems. Because their vigilance hasn't been reduced at all. Instead ….

"Calling for two extra support units !"

They called for more guards! What a freaking situation.

"Hey Mr. Guard! There is no need for extra people. Check with your superior for the name Laith Hakim. We were told to come here and they will let us in."

Although the two, sorry, now six guards outside didn't relax one bit, someone still pressed their walkie-talkie and asked,

*trotot*

"Check it for me, is the name Laith Hakim on the list?"

["Wait a minute!"]

After a tense 30 seconds, the reply finally came back

["Let Mr. Laith in and guide them to warehouse number 26."]

The guards looked doubtful and hesitated whether to lower their guns or not. The same guard pressed the walkie-talkie and asked again,

*trotot*

"Are you sure? They are carrying guns in their hands."

After ten seconds the same reply came again.

["Let Mr. Laith in and guide them to warehouse number 09."]

Since they made sure there was nothing wrong with the order, nobody hesitated this time and all of them lowered their guns, though I still feel them on guard against us.

The middle-aged guard looked at others around and said,

"You guys can go back to your work."

Then he turned to the young guard behind him and made a gesture with his head, meaning to come forward. Looked at us and said.

"Gentleman, my colleague will accompany you to the warehouse."

We nodded at him.

"Thank you and sorry for the trouble. The fuel truck behind is also with us, trouble you to let it in."

I said with a smile while lowering my hands. Let's ignore how he flinched again, maybe he lacks some magnesium.

"It's okay!"

Pretending to be calm he waved at us to go inside. Then yelled toward the two guards handling the truck.

I looked at the young guard and said,

"Hop in the car to guide us."

He shook his head while stepping away, then said,

"I will walk and you follow me."

Do we look that scary? What if Adam was with us? Would they have shot directly?

Didn't say anything, we started following him as he trotted toward the warehouse assigned to us.

Walid's voice came through the phone as we were driving slowly.

"Thankfully, everything turned out to be okay and the gangsters did.."

The moment he said 'turned out to be okay' I had Goosebumps all over and yelled quickly.

"DON'T RAISE THE FLAG OR I WILL RAISE YOUR TOMBSTONE!"
