Chapter 17 - Your Father Married A Second Wife?

[ooooh I f**l good!]

Salem phone started blasting James Br*wn song.

On the phone screen, the caller id showed [le professeur]

"Shut up for a second! My dad is calling."

Seeing it was the big boss with level 100 who was calling, we just went silent.

Salem Father is Dr. Akeed, was the one who first delivered the news of the possible upcoming natural disaster.

Every one of us is curious why he is calling now, that's why the circus inside the car ended instantly.

"Quick answer! Let's see if he really got a second wife there."

Everyone except Walid. His rowdy nature wouldn't allow him to get serious that easily.

*pow* *pow*

Getting punched on both arms, a punch from me and the other from Adam should do the work.

"Stop messing around, now is not the time.", I warned him with a serious tone.

Being glared at by three dudes, in a closed car made him shudder.

"Hehehe! Go ahead, don't keep your father waiting.", Walid laughed sheepishly.

Salem ignored him and answered the phone.

"Hello! This is Earth's station number 006! How can I help you?"

This is the typical greeting Salem greets his father with every time he answers his call, a joke between them as his father works at N*SA.

"I have no time to waste. I'm going to ask and you answer. Is that clear?"

It seems Uncle Akeel didn't want to return the usual greeting and started talking in a no-nonsense tone, which could only mean that the matter was really serious.

"Yes, ask away dad."

Didn't mean to joke around, Salem answered quickly.

"Where are you now, and who is beside you?"

Salem looked at us, then answered.

"In Laith's car, beside me are also Adam and Walid."

"Oh, that's Okay. Did you or any of your friends feel something weird in your body within half an hour? Like a burning sensation, vertigo, numbness, or even faint?"

Looking at his friends, none of them seemed to have such symptoms.

"No, everybody is ok!"

He still didn't know what happened to me before he and Adam came. We didn't have enough time to talk before being kicked out by the Car Wash owner, so he can't be blamed. And I couldn't hear what uncle Akeel was saying at the moment to interject.

"Are you sure?" Uncle Akeel asked again.

"I'm sure, everyone is okay!" Salem assured again.

"... that's okay. you don't have to talk about it with your friends for now. But if any of them show such symptoms, keep calm and don't worry. Just don't tell anybody outside our four families if they show such symptoms."

Uncle Akeel sounded both disappointed and revealed at the same time hearing no one showed any symptoms, then he instructed Salem to keep silent about the situation.

"Dad, is everything okay? Where are you at? What is happening?"

Feeling his father's strange tone, Salem asked with concern.

"You do not have to worry, it's fine here. In the next few days, you Follow your uncle Ali's instructions. He will arrange everything for our families with your other two uncles."

"I will be busy in the next period, and I won't have the time to call every day. You take care of your mother and siblings. I have to go now, goodbye."

Uncle Akeel talked continually without giving his son the time to talk, then ended the call leaving Salem worried and confused.

"Looking at your face, Uncle Akeel really did get married to a second wife. What are you going to do? Do you want to tell auntie!?"

Walid's excited voice left everyone speechless.

*thud* *thud*

"You f***er can't you see the mood is not right!"

Another two punches followed by a curse from Salem were enough to get him to shut up.

Looking back at Salem's worried expression, I asked.

"What's the matter? What did your dad tell you? Did something happen to him or is there another situation?"

Salem wanted to tell us, but remembering what his father said, he changed his mind and didn't say anything about the weird symptoms.

"He didn't tell me anything new, all he said is to follow your father's instructions for the next few days."

Salem shook his head while replying as if there was nothing.

We looked at him suspiciously, then Adam, with a serious face asked him again.

"Then why do you look like your father has married the second wife for real."

*smirk* *smirk* *smirk*

We didn't laugh, what are you looking at?

Hearing us talking about his father marrying a second wife, again and again, Salem got angry for real this time.

"Can you just f*ck off stop talking about my dad marrying another wife?"

Seeing him get angry when we kept on talking about his father's second marriage, means that there is nothing wrong with his father.

"Hehe! Then why do you look so worried!?", asked Walid with his loud voice while laughing.

*sigh*

"He told me he won't be able to call every day, and asked me to take care of my mother and siblings. Doesn't that sound like someone's last words or last will? He is raising flags all over the place. Of course I will be worried!"

With a sigh, Salem replied with a look of defeat because of his friend's teasing.

Uncle Akil is really raising flags like there is no tomorrow.

Still, I looked at Salem and said reassuringly,

"Don't worry, your father works at N*SA, He should be safer than any one of us at the moment."

Salem thought of the ULA's capabilities and power. Thinking that with his father's position in N*SA, he shouldn't be in danger.

*sigh*

With a sigh, he finally calmed down.

Looking at the time, it was already 2:00 PM. I turn to Walid and say,

"It's already 2 PM. We should get going! Walid, give me the directions to the fuel dealer, also make sure that you call and reverse the fuel first. I don't want to go there and end up with nothing."

There are all kinds of distractions happening today. A simple thing would need double the time.

Glancing at the rear-view mirror, I talk to Adam and Salem while looking at their reflection.

"As for the two of you, try to think of what we need to arrange or what we need to buy, make a list, and send it to the group chat."

Nodding their heads, each of them focused on his phone with a pondering expression.

"Hello boss, it's me Walid, Zaid's son from the repair shop…."

Talking about lists, I remember my father saying we should post a list on our family group chat of the things we might need or things we are going to buy.

grabbing my phone and opening the group chat, I started looking at what's inside while ignoring the tingling sensation and a stream of information that might be my hallucination. (A/N: so cool.)

The stream of information stopped as I ignored it, Which was a piece of good news because it was taking a toll on my mind while it was being maintained.

[The Hakim's Family]

Ali: 10 sacks of wheat - 50 kg each

Ali: 10 sacks of rice - 50 kg each

Ali: 4 sacks of beans - 50 kg

Ali: 3 sacks of salt - 50 kg each

Ali: 2 sacks of sugar - 50 kg each

Ali: 1 sack of.....

[The Hakim's Family]

D*mn that's a lot! My father is going all out on this one.

"Okay boss! I will be at your place in half an hour. Yes yes! Okay, bye."

About to continue looking, Walid ended his call with the fuel dealer so I had to stop and put the phone away.

"Let's go! The fuel is available and the price is reasonable!"

Walid shouted with the same excitement as a five years old kid going to the zoo.

"Okay, give me the directions."

Shaking my head helplessly at old kid enthusiasm, I asked for directions while driving outside the neighborhood to the highway.
