Before it all changed (2)

As I walked down the crowded street I looked around me to see everyone stuck in their own world. Technology advanced so much in the past few years you don't even have to drive yourself anymore with the new hovercars that recently came out. I live in New York City, with skyscrapers reaching into the clouds all around me, and crowds of people covering the street. I just wanted to make it home after a long day of school. I got on the train and headed home.

I guess to pass the time I could do an inner monolog about myself. I'm 16 years old, with long brown hair, and the bangs reach down to right above my eyebrows. I have a slender physics, not too many muscles but still fit. I like wearing T-shirts all the time, the colo4 doesn't matter. I also always wear shorts, even in winter I wear them. I'm probably 5'10, and my birthday is July 1st, 2083.

"The train has stopped, passengers please exit at this time."

OH, I guess it's time to get off. My house isn't too far away from the train station. We'll back to my monolog, I always wear slides as shoes no matter where I go, I just think there very comfortable. I have 2 cats at home, 1 boy and 1 girl. Their names are fluffy and snowy. I started opening the door while still lost in thought. My name is ----

"Welcome home", my mom.

"How was your day at school"

"It was pretty good nothing unusual"

"That's good to hear".

I walked upstairs and set my bag down, sat on my bed, and fell asleep.

"Dinners ready"

my mom's voice woke me up. She has a very stern and demanding voice but with a hint of kindness and gentleness. I headed downstairs and was greeted with a table full of nice food.

"What's the occasion," I asked

"It's new years eve, turn of the sentry".

I sat down and started eating but asked "where dad"

"They had an accident at the Factory and he has to work overtime".

She sat down and continued speaking,

"you know what I saw on the news today, I saw that the Eastern forces were advancing on the Central territory, the war over there gonna be pretty big, hopefully, it doesn't involve us."

"Yes hopefully"

I lived in the West, and for a time we were safe from the war between the East and Central.

"Don't forget about the New Year's Eve party tonight".

"Oh shoot, I forgot about it. What time do I gotta leave"

"Probably about 10 because you have to get on the train and head over there, I will be able to come because I have to wait for your dad".

"There's something else I wanted to do, so I'll have to leave a few hours earlier".

I packed my bad with some snacks, 2 water bottles, my phone, and a charger

"See you later Mom"

I walked out the door and headed for the train station.

The thing I had to do was hang out with my friends, my parents are very strict and barely let me hang out with them but tonight is one night where I have the freedom to do whatever I want.

My 2 best friends, Dave - Tall, black hair, a little chubby, the same age as me 16 known him since middle school, and Naki - He's a little older at 19 but he's chill, he has short white hair, Tall and works out a lot.

We were supposed to meet up at the Party.

I headed off the train and texted them where are you guys.

It had been a few hours with no response from them. I walked around the festival doing the activities they had there. It was close to midnight close to the turn of the century.

Then

I looked up at the sky as it was an orangish-yellow color. I saw what looked to be an incoming object. The next thing I knew the crowd erupted in all directions knocking me over in the panic. It all went black from that moment on.
