35 A Little More

I'm still feeling wiped out, but I guess it's a miracle that I don't feel worse. I mean, in my old world I probably would have died from what I've been through. Well, I guess this is the same world, but a different version of it, but you get the point.

A couple of other teams go on, up until the twelfth team goes on, after that they take time to rate all the teams, and later display the result of the talent show. My team did pretty well, saying that we got... second place.

Well, it makes sense. Even though I did well, Sasha just didn't show off any of her ability other than turning into a cat, not that she could do much else being so low on energy. That ended up holding us back from getting first place.

First place went to the other team that had a person who wasn't tired. That much is obvious saying that they have the advantage. Sure, my team had one person in good condition, but I got stabbed so that isn't necessarily true anymore.

After a quick break to rest, the next part of the competition is declared.

"The next part of this competition here is to bring the competition down to three teams! It will be Dodgeball! The remaining teams will form two bigger teams and compete to move onto the next round!"

I look over to Sasha and say, "Well, we gotta find another two teams to join, I say we see if we can join Chris Flame and Jane Tear... they do seem like they are the most experienced after all."

"Yeah..." Still too tired to say anything huh. Well, I would join the only team that isn't tired, but they are too suspicious right now. I mean, could they be any less suspicious. Well, at the same time, as I thought earlier, they are suspicious to the point that they are too suspicious. Like they aren't trying to hide anything. That makes me think that they might be framed, but I honestly don't know. Sometimes the best answers are in plain sight after all.

I mean, it could go both ways, they could be framed, but if they're not and I team up with them, I'm gonna have another knife through the gut, and that isn't fun.

Whatever, it seems like everyone is suspicious of them, they aren't teaming up with anyone, oh no... am I going to end up paired with them because there aren't enough members... well it's unavoidable I guess. And Jane and Chris are already paired up! Come on!

Three teams form a group leaving my group, the suspicious one, and the group that just barely made it to this round. Well, I mean it makes sense. My group hasn't socialized much, and I'm the most suspicious one other than the not-tired team, because I broke the spell and all.

That is just the way the world works though, not much you can do about it. Whatever, I will win this round and hopefully not die in the process.

The dodgeball game will consist of three rounds. The team that wins two out of three rounds will move on to the next part of the competition. If somehow, there is a tie, like each team wins one round, then the last two players eliminate each other at the same time on the last round, then there will be an extra round.

Other than that, the whole thing is basically normal dodgeball, except for the part that we are allowed to use magic. Well, here we go!

The first round of dodgeball starts, and instantly I push all the balls to our side, using Gravity magic of course, and grab one. I throw it into the air and suspend it. After that, I push all the air behind it away using gravity creating a void, and then let the air rush back in. The air filling the void causes such pressure that the ball is shot at high speed towards the other team.

I'm... honestly pretty surprised that worked, it took two people out too. That had to break a bone though, ouch! I should definitely tone down the next shot... I'll just throw the ball. I pick one up, but instantly another comes right at me.

Even tired, the other side is still putting up a fight. They manage to get a few balls, picking them up as my team throw balls at them. A barrage of dodgeballs starts coming at me, well I guess I'm a target now.

Wait... can't I just... I put up a barrier repelling everything coming towards me using Gravity magic, and just stand still. I can't pick anything up like this but it is funny seeing all these balls flying at me and none of them making it.

Another idea hits me and I let the barrier down. I see a ball coming at me, that will be a perfect target. I slow the ball down and make gravity on it weaker. I then increase drag by compressing the air around it, making it fall slower. I catch it, thus eliminating the player who threw it at me.

Every trick is working today huh. I guess taking risks does pay off every once and a while. I repeat the same trick another time, and now there are only two people left on the other team. They eliminated Sasha while I wasn't looking, but they are still losing.

The last two people on the other team are unsurprisingly Jane and Chris. Man, I wish I could have teamed up with them, even tired they are doing pretty well, being the only ones left on their team and all.

Although, they won't be safe while I'm here, muahahahaha! Okay evil laugh over, time to destroy the remaining people on their team!

I pick up as many dodgeballs with Gravity magic as I can, and are in our side of the stadium. I then start throwing them at the other team using a weaker version of the method earlier. A barrage of high-speed dodgeballs starts coming at Jane and Chris and they have no time to dodge, winning us the first round.

Okay, I stole the spotlight, but I'll sit back next round. I believe that the suspicious person has something to show, and I'll give them the chance.
