2 The Promise

Cold sweats are dripping from her back, it's not because it's hot, the temperature in the room was most likely cold. The Prince still held her and seems like he doesn't plan to let go. Luna's eyes widened as soon as she realized the situation she's in right now. Prince Gabriel never said those words jokingly, he was serious, and Luna could feel it deep inside her. Though she may have wanted to believe that those words are nothing but just to amuse the Prince himself depending on her reaction, 'it was just a joke', is what she keeps on telling herself until they heard a knock on the door, Prince Gabriel seems to realize the time's over and decided to let Luna go as a maid entered the room.

"Pardon my Intrusion, Prince Gabriel," the maid said as she bowed her head a little.

"It's okay, what have you come here for?" Prince Gabriel replied hesitantly,

"Princess Catarina wishes to see you, her Fiancee." Luna was taken aback when she heard those words and buried those words in her mind so she won't make the same mistake she did right now.

Prince Gabriel said goodbye to Luna before he left and Luna decided to go back to her room with the maid. She never thought about Prince Gabriel having a fiancee already, but what she does not understand is why did Prince Gabriel tell her about he would've just chosen her to be his wife.

"What's your name?" Luna asked the maid as she sat down on her bed. The maid looked at her and smiled, "Roxanne," she answered shyly. Luna stood up and walked towards Roxanne and reached for her hands,

"That's a nice name. Let's be friends, talk to me like I'm not the Prince's future fiancee when we're alone. I'd love that." she whispered so that only the two of them can hear it.

"Roxanne," Luna signaled Roxanne to sit beside her, "Can you tell me about Prince Keane?" Roxanne nodded at Luna "Prince Keane is usually cold, he wasn't a bit interested in things like marriage, that's why even Prince Gabriel and His majesty were surprised that he suddenly chose to get engaged."

Luna sighed in disbelief, "I wonder why he chose me... I haven't even seen him before, much less talk to him..."

"His Majesty said he does not know either how Prince Keane knew you," Roxanne said trying to comfort Luna but then Luna suddenly smiled in excitement, "What's the matter?" concerned Roxanne asked,

"Hey, do you know a Royal guard named Ren? He said he's assigned here at the castle" Luna asked with sparkles in her eyes,

Roxanne tried to think of someone named Ren, but she doesn't know any Royal guards with a name like that, but instead, she just told Luna that maybe the Ren Royal guard that Luna was talking about might be easy for them to find because there are only twenty-five Official royal guards here inside the castle.

"Will you be able to recognize him?" asked Roxanne, "Yeah, we met in the weirdest way, He's very handsome and a nice guy, we met three days ago at the Magic Festival,"

Three days ago was the Magic Festival, where everyone around the Kingdom of Magle celebrates "The eternal child". It was the day when the so-called "Eternal child" was lost. The Eternal Child is the daughter of the King and Queen of Vreecs Kingdom, they became the enemy of the Kingdom of Magle after the King and Queen passed away and the throne was taken by the King's brother and ruled over the Vreecs Kingdom. While at the Festival, a group of men from the Vreecs Kingdom ganged up on Luna who bought medicine to cure her mother's illness.

"Give us your blood," said one of the men who looked like their leader, they were all holding swords while surrounding Luna and being cautious around her,

Luna, who wasn't shaken a bit, had no idea why they want her blood. She just wants to get out of here and head back to their house where her mother is waiting.

"I have to go, let me just go, please," she begged them but one of the men slashed up the bag she was holding where her mother's medicine was in and her hand was wounded.

She felt her whole body shaking because of anger as tears started to fall from her eyes as she crouched down to pick up the herbs and potions she bought, she couldn't feel pain from the wound earlier. Then suddenly a light came off from her whole body and the men started to fall on their knees as they all lose the power to stand up or even to hold their weapons, as Luna's body's stopped shaking, she felt so much power and all the men started to catch their breaths. She doesn't know what was happening and why it is happening which made her feel so scared that she started to panic. Someone suddenly appeared from her back,

"Calm yourself down, or else all of them will die," the man said as he pats her head, "B-But... I-I'm so scared, W-What's happening--" she said stammering, the man pulled her closer and hugged her, "Hush now. It's okay, you're safe,"

Hearing those words gave her a feeling of certainty that she is safe. Feeling the warmth of the man hugging her makes her feel safe. The feeling that all her blood was running to her brain is now all gone. Her sweat is cold and yet she feels warm. But as soon as she calmed herself down, her legs were noodles and it felt like she lost all her strength suddenly. But the man held her tight and helped her sit down,

She tried to look at the man's face and caught a glimpse of it but then her vision started to get blurry, "W-Who are you?" her voice sounds so tired, "Tell me your name first," the man said.

"L-Luna Wright,"

The man nodded at her and said something that she couldn't hear because she blacked out.

"I will make you my wife and protect you, that's a promise."
