34 Reaching a Deal!

The wind wolf took the deal easily because he felt threatened.

Sensing an aura of a dangerous human in their midst, the wolves' leader's eyes flashed with a tinge of intelligence.

The Wind Wolf growled before taking a mouthful of the bread and the meat. The five wolves surrounding Naina, Kyle, and his servants had seemingly received another command. They looked at their leader and backed away willingly.

He turned and left towards the deeper part of the forest. His pack rushed to the pile of free food, each picked a few pieces, as much as they could hold in their mouth, and then ran in the direction where the leader had gone.

The soldier's taut body had finally relaxed after seeing that the danger had been averted. Kyle and his group were also the same. Thea lifted her hand from the dagger's handle that was sheathed and tied to her waist. All the while, her eyes never left Ivan.

Eliot also heaved a sigh of relief. He wasn't a match of the wind wolf one on one.

"Thank you, um..."

"Ivan," Ivan introduced, but he wasn't relaxed one bit. He still needs to save Eva's father from the soldiers.

"Thank you, Ivan. You saved my men and me. I'm in your debt." Eliot was curious about Ivan's ability that he showed just now. He didn't see any Storage artifact on him; therefore, Eliot can only attribute the food materializing out of thin air as part of Ivan's innate ability.

A person with such a unique ability would either be of importance or would become one in the future. There is no loss in being friendly and polite to him when he had also saved their lives.

"That's true. You are in my debt. But you can clear it right now as I have a request for you."

Eliot was taken aback by the boy, and he replied diplomatically after some hesitation. "I promise to help you to the best of my ability and position.

"Well, I'm pursuing the same duo that you are out to capture. I want both of them in my custody." Ivan started his intention.

"That... I'm afraid I have to disagree with your request. I've been tasked to bring the thieves back to the city for trial." Eliot couldn't agree with the request. How could he when a giant like Paison's shop is behind the warrant?

They would skin him alive if he let the criminals leave unscathed.

Eva's father was also listening to their conversation while trying to find a chance and escape.

It was at this moment when Thea joined their conversation and said, " Eliot, I'm sure you can tell your superiors that these two thieves have been taken away by the wold pack. You have injuries to justify your reason. Don't worry; we also have a bone to pick with them, but they need to be handed somewhere else first. Help us with this one time. here, take this, it's the money to keep your men in line."

Thea handed the captain a pouch. Ivan could guess it was filled with silver or gold coins by the sound of it clinking.

Eliot didn't take the pouch. He didn't want to take the chance; who knows if one of his men rattle him out to his Paison shop or the two criminals are seen back in the city. Both ways, he would be fucked.

Thea could feel his hesitation; therefore, she took a step forward and whispered into Eliot's ears, "You will do a favor to the little brother of the White Wolf. I hope you are not stupid enough to stand on the wrong side of the rising star of White Tiger City."

Eliot blanked at first and then shuddered as he remembered the reputation of the White Wolf. He then turned to look back at Ivan, astounded.

'Ah, so he is the brother of the White Wolf. That explains his talent. The abnormal White Wolf would have abnormal siblings. His sister at the academy was living evidence. This piece of news would rock the White Tiger City.' Eliot thought.

Ivan frowned. He overheard Thea very clearly if she had spoken in a low voice. The captain's reaction deepened his frown.

Thea noticed Ivan growing, but she thought it was due to him not liking his big brother.

Eliot was weighing the pros and cons.

Helping Thea in this matter was already a big deal; she had a big influence inside the city and in Adventurer's circle. Not to mention, he recognized Kyle Wheelbarrow, a student of the Rigiero Academy. Though Kyle was not a big shot, he had to fear, but there was a benefit in knowing him.

The White Wolf was now in a different league altogether.

"Alright, but you need to promise me one thing. These two criminals will never step foot near the white tiger city. Someone might recognize them and then it would become troublesome for me and my men."

"Now, we are talking. Eliot, is it? You and these fellow friends can have a ten percent discount at my inn." Thea patted the captain's shoulders with a wide smile on her face.

A smile also appeared on Eliot's face after hearing he could avail 10 percent discount at Thea's inn.

"Thank you, Captain Eliot. I will remember this." Ivan said politely.

"It's alright, young man. I'm only clearing my debt." Eliot said as he put his sword back into its sheath. He walked over to his soldiers and explained to them about the deal. Ivan could see that money pouch, 10 percent discount at Thea's inn, and the term white wolf bought their silence.

'Who is this white wolf? Am I his little brother? Argh, I need to get my memory as fast as I can.' Ivan thought in annoyance.

After deciding on the lie together, Eliot and the men picked up their dead companions' bodies and walked away in the direction of the city.

Ivan and Thea walked up to the tree where Eva's father was hiding.

The man in question was nervous as hell, and Ivan could also see that, so he said, "Hey! Are you alright?. Your daughter, Eva, is well now I can assure you of that. Come down; I mean you no harm."

Ivan's word's surprised the man but also relieved him of his worries. He slumped in exhaustion but thankfully didn't lose his balance and fall down from such a height.
