The first wife of the (deceased) first master of the first family;

Two sons and no daughter, what woman wanted only sons?

Her second sister had her daughters, the second mistress from the second family, but they had died tragically.

Of course, Lyra had pretended to even care when they died, but it was a pretence, it had been extremely hard to keep up.

Her thoughts were utterly dark. What right did these useless things have to conceive two daughters while she lacked her own?

The poor things did not even live past their second and fifth year.

The first died at the age of two, strangled by a thin cord in her room tied to her bed.

Not a trace of blood, or suffering just a peaceful look.

Lyra had watched the mother break down and the second master console her, a sad look on his face.

Their firstborn was gone, just like that.

The second was the present firstborn son. He had many close calls, but sadly he lived.
