60 The Tome

A/N - I'm back bitches. Also I ended up not even playing that game much and ended up re-reading classroom of the elite lmao. Would highly recommend that novel if you're into phycological stuff as the MC is fucking smart as shit, puts Oz to shame tbh lol.

This chapters more a recap into what's going on with progression and explanation at the end for a variety of things I felt needed answers... enjoy :)

============================================================

Now that Oz had got rid of the old snake, he felt much more at peace in the school. The only obstacle now for this year in particular was Quirrellmort however he had a number of ideas he could use to get rid of him. The easiest and straightforward method was to entice Harry down into where the mirror of erised is.

At first Oz thought this plan seemed a bit far fetched however the Harry now had changed. He looked up to Oz as his role-model in a way and respected everything Oz said. If Oz were to tell him to come with him somewhere there's no doubt the boy would listen and join him. So all Oz had to do now was wait and watch Quirrell on the marauders map.

'There's a multitude of ways I could go about this but the best case scenario is to have Harry down in that room with Quirrell at the right time... That would lead to the philosophers stone making an appearance with Harry. Then all it takes is for me to go with the flow...'.

As this years events were coming to a close Oz found himself analysing his past again. It was pretty obvious at this point how much he'd grown as a person. His mentality when he first came to this world was chaotic and naïve however now even though there was still a hint of naivetes at times he was a lot more calculating, using all his cards he had in his hands. Safe to say Oz made mistakes here and there, after all he was only human. However if his death had taught him anything it was to learn from mistakes, his major mistake in his past life being he let it go by without trying to achieve anything.

So while Oz waited for the day Quirrell would act he relaxed himself. Occasionally he'd still visit the RoR to train himself whether it was in potion making or duelling however the further he ventured into duelling the more he realised his fault of having two wands. Oz felt the need to fuse his wands more and more as the days progressed when training, As Merlin once did.

Meanwhile during Oz's time of peace after Salazar was dealt with, the rumours of Lucius and Dumbledore were still being spread massively. Dumbledore himself released no statement on the rumours about luring Oz to be his disciple which actually surprised Oz in a way. He was almost confident the old man would try something however it seemed as though the man indeed placed the 'greater good' above his own status. In all honesty when your a wizard of his stature there's really no need to be bothered by public opinion as much, While he's probably angry with Oz in some ways he's restraining himself in order to allow for the years to come to be easier with Oz on the so called 'good side'.

Lucius however and the Malfoy household weren't holding up as well at all. After the goblins spilled information about underhanded deals it led to the integrity of their household being under constant check. The ministry had probably preformed many raids on them in this time with the rumours of a dark artefact being used as a payment. Looking back into the situation in full Oz realised that Gringotts had quelled public anger pointed towards them by saying a rogue goblin was the cause of information being sold illegally. Even though initially they acted as their pride was smashed by Rita they used this story as a cushion in order to soften the damage. Unluckily for them Oz could still use this information to manipulate them in some ways.

In many ways Oz already had plans for the summer and the majority of his plans were centered around a certain tome he had acquired...

.

After a study session with the CoC gang (Craig, Oz and Cho), Oz headed off to the RoR in order to this time fully study the tome he had gotten off of Dumbledore a couple months back.

The reason why up to this point he hadn't looked into it was because of all the events that occurred in that time. Learning under Dumbledore, undergoing the Animagus ritual, brushing up on his potion studies privately, the incident at the ministry with Lucius and Fudge, there were many things that kept Oz preoccupied.

The main thing that preoccupied him though was Salazar however now that he was gone Oz could study all he needed in peace. In Oz's eyes, Salazar was the only true threat to him at the school when he was around as he knew how to deal with Dumbledore so he couldn't act and he also knew Quirrell's weakness (Harry).

As Oz reached the RoR, he entered into a room full of books and a table for study again. This room is one he's been quite familiar with from time to time as he tries to read as much as possible to utilise his perfect memory.

'Perfect memory... In hindsight it was a silly ability to ask for... I wonder if there was a cut off point? Could I have asked the void being to give me Saiyan abilities or something? Maybe Perfect memory was the limit of what I could have... I guess there's really no way of knowing now...'

To emphasise how 'Perfect Memory' worked, it was like a show/movie reel to Oz. He could remember all the days passed as long as he focused and rewinded the 'movie reel' in his head. If there's something in particular he needs to know then all it takes is to associate something with that memory. For instance if he wants to remember of certain potion recipe, his mind will search for that memory instantly and that memory will present itself in a reel-like form. At first this sort of ability was extremely weird to Oz. After all when he picked perfect memory he just gathered he would be able to remember everything, anywhere at anytime. However picturing that now... wouldn't a persons head explode from all that information? This way of viewing was probably a way so that Oz could calmly look through his memories without there being any major issues to his psyche in the long run. Oz wondered in the long run if he could augment this ability further by connecting it with Occlumency or something...

After brooding over his ability for a while Oz took a seat on a chair in the RoR. He placed his trusty clock that he'd always bring to the RoR next to him as he rummaged through his pouch and found Merlin's tome.

Oz truly didn't know what to expect from the tome, however part of him was thinking for some reason that it was going to be a 'key' in a way. Something that would let Oz identify where Merlin's secret abode is in the world. Such a location would be invaluable to Oz as currently during the summer his base of operations was in Diagon alley. If he could have a whole abode to himself then in the future and for that place to be hidden, he'd be free to practice whenever and improve by leaps and bounds by himself.

As Oz placed his hand on the tome he felt a familiar sensation prick his hand. It seemed Merlin was incredibly meticulous as each and every artefact under the 'Ambrosius' name had this kind of blood identification test on it. After it pricked Oz's hand the blood entered the book and for a while the book laid dormant until the lock on the side suddenly snapped off.

Seeing this Oz proceeded to open the tome carefully.
