The Revolutionary Enchanter

"Merlin's beard Mr. Amb-, I mean Mr. Oswald. You sure know how to rouse a crowd".

The head goblin smiled ear to ear as he thought back on the impact Oz speech had to the populace in Diagon Alley. After all for him the more interest in the Magi-Cast the better chance he'd actually profit in the end despite the 95/5 deal.

"I also have to say master that was a side of you I've never seen before... Considering you stay recluse mostly I didn't think you'd do well in that scenario~".

Oz sighed as he thought back to the speech. In all honesty he just used inspiration from speeches in his previous life to make up for his lacking experience. To him he simply just used the right words to trigger the biggest response possible.

"It's honestly nothing special... My disposition seemed to calm me down as I went in front of all those people. This blood in me is certainly something mystical...".

As Oz thought about his dragon blood he started to get a slight feeling of anxiety well up in him. Without this blood and Merlin being his ancestor he wondered if he as a person was actually anything special. His mistake he made back in the void and something he regretted to this day was his wish he made to the void being. Back then he thought he was being clever however after growing in this world he realised that 'Perfect Memory' wasn't the best ability to pick for here at all. If this bloodline wasn't with him and his talent that was passed down wasn't present would he as a character in this world even be anything special? Would he have even been able to get this far? The sorts of questions plagued Oz every now and then as he progressed through this 'story'. Had he truly grown at all?

'That reminds me... That being stated it planted me in this world and made it seemed to the orphanage that I was a natural occurrence. What if there's more to it than that? Maybe my consciousness overwrote the child who was in the orphanage that was meant to be Merlin's descendant in the canon and in this timeline. If thats the case why did the descendant of Merlin never appear in the canons story? Is there something else at work behind the scenes?'.

Questions welled up in Oz's head as he grew silent. This wasn't the first time questions such as these ate away at him. When he looked back from where he'd come from he questioned almost everything that happened to him. Alfreda looked towards her master with concern on her face seeing him make a difficult expression.

"Master? Are you okay?".

Oz shook his head as he smiled towards Alfreda.

"It's nothing Alfreda, just me getting stuck in my own head. If you could transfigure me back now I'll change out of these clothes and we can head back home".

Alfreda nodded as she transfigured Oz from 'Lee Oswald' back to his young 'Oz' self. As Alfreda looked at her masters original face she smiled lightly.

"I definitely prefer you this way~".

Oz smiled at the praise as he went off to get changed within Gringotts leaving Alfreda and the head goblin alone in the head goblins office. After he was done he came back and fetched Alfreda.

"Hey head goblin... I actually haven't asked you what your name is yet have I?".

The head goblin seemed to smile wryly as he looked at Oz.

"I thought you'd never ask... Ahem! My name is Raglok, Mr. Ambrosius".

"Raglok huh? Interesting name... Anyway Raglok is there a chance you could take me down to Merlin's vault? there's something I want to grab down there...".

.

Oz, Alfreda and Raglok all travelled down into the depths of Gringotts towards Merlin's vault. The journey down was very long considering that vaults left behind by people like 'Merlin' were kept deep in the earth. Gringotts was established on top of these vaults way after the vaults were initially created.

As they travelled down Alfreda whispered in Oz's ear.

"Master, why are we heading to Merlin's vault?".

Oz whispered back into Alfreda's ear as he explained himself.

"I want to check it out one last time before I take the dragon heart from it back to our hideout. Gringotts is certainly a secure bank however I feel as though in the future Merlin's Hideout would be a much safer place to store the heart in comparison...".

Merlin's hideout was hidden with Alfreda inside for centuries. Compared to a bank that in the canon was actually broken into by the golden trio, Oz judged the former to be much more secure especially if he placed the heart in the ritual room a place only he could reach.

Eventually the trio of Oz, Alfreda and Raglok managed to make it to the door of Merlin's vault. Alfreda and Raglok waited outside as Oz ventured in.

'It's been a couple years since I last came here now... Nothing seems to have changed'.

Looking around the vault Oz activated his eyes and started to look intently. Considering how bare this place was he had a theory that Merlin may have hidden something that only someone with his 'eyes' would be able to see. However that theory was crushed as Oz could see nothing.

"Damn... That ancestor of mine really isn't the best at leaving presents is he?".

Walking over to the stone pillar in the middle of the room Oz lifted the panel off the top of it and saw the dragon heart within. Looking closely at the heart he noticed that it had been encased in a see through box, much like glass yet something that seemed denser. As Oz picked up the box with the heart in it he felt his blood start to rage.

'What the-'.

His blood started to burn as his aura unleashed out filling the vault. As this happened Oz very quickly put the heart away in his pouch as securely as possible. As soon as it entered the pouch his blood calmed down.

"I guess to some degree that was to be expected...".

Looking back to the entrance of the vault Oz saw Alfreda poking her head in. She looked towards Oz concerned as she felt his aura pool out for a split second.

"Is everything okay master?".

"I'm fine Alfreda, Let's head out of here now...".

With that Oz, Alfreda and Raglok journeyed back up from the very depths of Gringotts to the surface again. Oz left Raglok with a few more closing notes about the Magi-Cast before bidding him farewell, leaving with Alfreda.

.

As Oz and Alfreda left Gringotts they left out the back door. They would have apparated from Gringotts directly however it was charmed so that people inside couldn't apparate away. After all if a robber came in and snatched some galleons it'd be silly if they could apparate away instantly without anything blocking them.

The two walked down diagon alley taking their time to take in the sights. Oz noticed that the crowd had thinned however the majority were still left over. Talks of 'Lee Oswald' and his Magi-Cast was on the lips of every witch and wizard in the avenue. Nicknames had even started to sprout up as Oz eavesdropped, one of the main ones being 'The Revolutionary Enchanter'.

Looking down Diagon Alley Oz noticed some familiar faces near the leaky cauldron. Considering how big the event ended up being Oz wasn't surprised to see the faces he was seeing. A group of people from the order who had made the time to come to Diagon Alley.

"Master? Should we apparate now?".

"Not yet, I'm in the mood to say hello to a few people".

Walking through the alley Oz eventually found himself in front of the group from the order. The group consisted of Tonks, Moody and Arthur Weasley. As he approached he overheard Arthur smiling from ear to ear praising the genius of 'Lee Oswald'.

"Honestly what an impressive wizard! Fusing muggle technology with our magic? What a progressive way of improving our community!".

"It's definitely an impressive item but It's also dangerous in its own right if you think of the implications...".

Oz smiled at the very 'Arthur' like comments followed by the very 'Moody' like comment. The trio from the order spotted him and Alfreda as they approached close to them. Arthur and Moody seemed to both be stopped in their tracks whereas Tonks gawked at his appearance. Oz was fully dressed up in the clothing Alfreda had made him and considering the detail and how well made it was along with his 'handsome' face, it was enough to give a girl like Tonks pause. She snapped herself out of her daze quickly as she smiled towards Oz.

"Oz! Did you come to see that conference from 'Lee Oswald' as well?".

Oz nodded towards Tonks with a light smile on his face.

"I did come to see that amongst other things... Seeing the three of you here I imagine that the ministry placed a certain amount of importance on this event as well?".

Tonks stammered a bit as Moody looked towards Oz warily. Arthur on the other hand scratched his head as he began to speak.

"Merlin's beard... Your intelligence shown from your OWL results isn't just related to subjects in school now is it?".

Moody elbowed Arthur as he made that comment considering it basically gave away their appearance here. Realistically it didn't mean much however considering Moody's character he was vigilant towards Oz especially after the order meeting in which Oz released his aura. To Moody Oz was a wildcard that wasn't settling towards either side. As a matter of fact in his eye he saw him creating his 'own side'.

"Well I best be going, I only came over to say hi considering I'll be travelling soon...".

As Oz went to turn around and leave with Alfreda the latter of whom stayed silent throughout this whole conversation, He felt someone grab his arm to stop him.

"O-Oz... Can't you rethink your decision about joining the order? I feel as though with you there we'd be much more proficient in taking down the dark lord".

As Oz went to take Tonk's arm off his own he felt a coldness assail his back. He felt as though he was being glared at for a short time.

"I'm sorry but I stand by what I said at the meeting. The way we do things are too parallel. Whilst we are heading in the same direction in some ways I don't ever see us meeting in the middle. Granted as I said in the meeting I don't mind giving the odd hint and help here and there if I feel like it".

Tonks looked downtrodden as she stepped back with Moody and Arthur. Oz smiled towards the three and gave them a simple goodbye as Alfreda reached for his hand and apparated the two of them away leaving the three from the order there.

"What were you thinking Nymphadora!? Dumbledore specifically told us that messing with that boy is like messing with a loose cannon. If your invitation irked him in anyway he may have retaliated!".

Tonks glared towards Moody as her hair changed a fiery red.

"How many times do I have to tell you not to call me that!".

Tonks sighed as her hair then started to go back to its original colour. Looking at the spot where Oz apparated away she started to speak.

"I-I know to some degree I was out of line however I feel as though to solve this 'Dark Lord' issue Oz is someone integral to that... After all, he's the one whose given us all the information thus far. I just feel its a shame that he won't join us".

Arthur patted Tonk's shoulder as he sighed also.

"As the boy said himself his way of doing things is much different to ours... besides he strikes me as a person who could never work under someone ever. Something like the order would go against those principles in his mind and heart".

Tonks nodded as she took in Arthurs words. Her disappointed face morphed into a pout as she thought about the girl Oz was with.

"I wonder who that girl was...".

.

As Oz and Alfreda apparated they arrived back at Merlin's Hideout. Having to go through the front door they entered and spotted Norberta fast asleep in the main room waiting for them.

"She's certainly getting a bit too big for here...".

Oz stared at the dragon with a melancholic look in his eyes. Norberta throughout his second year was someone he deemed another friend as he visited her after she had hatched. When he took her to here for the summer he then spent a long time with both her and Alfreda before his third year. In a blink of an eye she grew and now Oz knew the time where she had to be put in the 'wild' was fast approaching.

"It will certainly get lonely around her when she's gone~".

Oz walked over to the sleeping dragon and patted her head gently. The dragon seemed to smile as she felt the pats on her head. As Oz looked at Norberta he felt his blood start to boil. Norberta slowly started to open her eyes as she looked up towards Oz's face.

{Papa- I mean Oz you're finally back! Can we play now!?}.

Oz chuckled as he nodded towards Norberta.

{Of course we can, The situation in diagon alley went well so I've got time to kill now}.

Norberta looked ecstatic as she clambered through the main room towards the big hallway that lead to the dragons den. Oz smiled as he watched the dragon run off. He turned himself back to Alfreda as he spoke.

"Good work today Alfreda... I think we'll spend a couple days here with Norberta before we head off to our first destination on this year long journey. Is that okay with you?".

"That sounds fine master~".

It is finally time to journey forth.
