12 Foolishness

Oz sat in the chair dumbstruck for a while, coming to a deep realization.

'I'm fine with being put in Slytherin but... seems I need to take a deep look at myself'.

As Oz walked over to the Slytherin table, a lot of the Slytherins on the table were glaring deeply at him trying to read him. Oz failed to notice the stares however as he was deep in thought.

'Since I've come to this world, everything has gone the way I expected. Learning magic, grasping books with my perfect memory, even meeting the Lovegood's. Everything went perfectly my way... I think I started to innately imagine that everything and everyone around me was easy to read and judge but, I've been too cocky'.

Oz, caught up in his drive to make something of himself in this life learnt a very important lesson today.

.

After the sorting ceremony, all the houses were guided back to their dorms by the prefects. Oz followed along with the other Slytherins, going down into the dungeons.

'This whole turn of events have been a valuable lesson to me, something I needed to happen to keep me on my toes. I wonder though, why was I put in Slytherin?'.

Oz was still brooding over why he was put in this house. Personally, he doesn't think Slytherin is a place completely full of assholes. There's sure to be some good people here and there who aren't so caught up on bloodlines and what not. So being in Slytherin didn't bother him one bit, it was just a step forward in his journey in this world.

'When I came to this world I was put into an Orphanage with no family to know of, the void being said I'd just appear there so I never even considered a family or any kind of connection. Could it be that I do have some kind of distant connection to someone which put me in Slytherin? but who?'.

Finishing that thought, the Slytherins arrived in the dungeons. Oz started walking towards his own room when suddenly a random Slytherin called out to him.

"So you're name is just Oz? no family name? How in the hell did you get into Slytherin? This is a place for the elites of the magical society not some random rabble with no family name".

Oz scoffed at his first encounter with a typical Slytherin.

'I sincerely hope not all the people in this house are as braindead as this guy'.

Oz ignored the guy, walking further towards his room. Right now he only wanted to get his emotions in check after all he's learnt today and didn't want to bother with such idiots.

"Oi! I was speaking to you, do you think you're all that just cause you got two wands? two wands just means you can fail twice as much hahaha".

The room roared with laughter at the boys comment, Some of the more cocky witches and wizards must have been jealous of how Oz was capable of having two wands accept him instead of just one. Notably though there were a few Slytherins who weren't laughing, looking more annoyed at the situation as a whole than anything.

'I guess some of them are decent after all'.

The boy who was insulting Oz felt like he had the crowd on his side so he followed Oz to his room to toy with him some more. As the boy went to step in the room, Oz's patience finally ran thin.

Oz snapped his whole body around with his yew wood wand pointed at the boy.

"Silencio"

The boys mouth immediately snapped shut, probably with a bit too much force as it almost seemed as if the boys teeth were gonna shatter.

'Seems I need to work on my control again soon using a wand'.

Oz looked deeply at the boy who he had now silenced.

"Thats much better, Now get out of my room".

With that Oz launched a 'Stupefy' sending the boy flying out of his room, again with a bit more force than Oz intended. Oz then slammed the door, leaving a bunch of bewildered Slytherins in his wake.

.

Oz sat down on his bed, looking at a mirror on the wall. What he did just now was not something he'd usually do. He's usually remained calm in the past, however his emotions seemed to get the better of him today.

'Let's just go over what I need to do for this first year again in my head'.

Oz's next plan of action was to use the cloaking spell he'd made to slip out of the dungeons after lessons tomorrow in search of the Room of Requirement (The RoR for short). After locating it he wanted to first get used to having two wands, before abusing it for all its knowledge and books. Along with locating the RoR, he also wanted to steal the marauders map from Fred and George. To do this he'd need to sneak into the Gryffindor common room, a dangerous task indeed.

'I'm not a hundred percent sure on whether or not casting with both wands at the same time is possible, but hopefully I'll at least be able to switch between them with relative ease. As for sneaking into the Gryffindor common room to get a hold of the marauders map, that'll have to be planned carefully'.

Oz looks down at his yew wood wand in his hand, grasping it tightly.

'From that little scuffle, it seems I can at least use spells up to OWL level, maybe NEWT if I push myself harder'.

Stupefy after all was a spell most commonly learned in your 4/5th years at Hogwarts so it was safe to say that Oz could cast OWL level spells at this point, Wandlessly however was another story.

Oz laid down on his bed looking up at the ceiling of his room in the dungeons.

"I hope the rest of this year can go somewhat smoothly...".
