91 Chapter 91: The Lions Resolution

Behind the soldiers who were trying to enter the castle, a group of people who were obviously not soldiers suddenly appeared. The leader was a short-haired woman dressed in a unique style, followed by cloaked men and women whose faces could not be seen clearly.

Mousesack seemed to sense something and immediately turned his head to look in the direction of the new group of people.

Although only the female leader is dressed magnificently, and the men and women behind her only looked like guards, but the magical fluctuations are unmistakable. All of these people are mages!

Mousesack gritted his teeth, there were so many!

Seeing Mousesack's incredible defensive barrier, Fringilla exclaimed: "It's really amazing, druid. Although I don't know what happened to the magical fluctuation just now, but I found what we were looking for!"

Then, she nodded her head, and behind her, the mages burst forth with a wave of magical energy, creating more than a dozen attacks of various elements that collided against the green screen in the air.

The pressure was overwhelming for Mousesack, as natural energy poured out of his body ceaselessly. He used to think that he could hold the barrier until dawn, but now, it seems like he will only hold it for a few more hours.

More troublesome still, his magic was being held tightly by those ten mages, even he couldn't free his hands to open a portal.

"There's no time, guard, take the princess and leave immediately!"

"Ciri, go north. Go to Brokilon with Geralt! That's the border between four nations, and there are the dryads."

"It's also very close to Temeria. If Nilfgaard doesn't want to start a war with all the northern kingdoms at the same time, they definitely won't go near that place."

"Uncle Mousesack!" Ciri cried and was taken away by the guards. Suddenly only Mousesack and a royal knight were left in the room.

The knight, who had not spoken until now, looked at Mousesack who had a fierce expression and was sweating profusely, sighing before asking: "Advisor Mousesack, has the time come?"

Mousesack was silent. He was unwilling to confirm such a question. When Calanthe issued such an order, he strongly opposed it. But the order was passed unanimously by others.

The knight acquiesced by not saying anything. He nodded, faced Mousesack, retreated to the door and stopped.

"Advisor, Your Majesty commissioned me to convey this message…" He said solemnly. "Mousesack, it is an honor for everyone at Cintra to have your help."

The knight bowed deeply to Mousesack, turned around and disappeared into the corridor.

Mousesack was silent for a while, his expression gradually turned sad, and he responded softly in the direction the knight left: "It is for me too, Your Majesty."

...

The protective shield in front of her became weaker and weaker, and Fringilla finally had the opportunity she had been waiting for. She opened her hands and magical waves that were much more powerful than those of the mages behind her gushed out at that moment...

Inside the castle, with everyone evacuated from the room, Mousesack, unrestrained, released his control. Natural energy gathered in a different way...

[Boom!]

The violent explosion directly shattered a corner of the castle, and a large area of the wall was torn down from the inside out. Countless Nilfgaardians died from falling rocks. The fighting soldiers stopped and covered their ears in pain as blood seeped from between their fingers.

...

The knight who delivered the queen's message to Mousesack kept walking after walking out of the room. The shouts of death and explosions did not disturb him at all.

He walked to the door of the nearest room and nodded towards the two guards guarding the door. The two men clearly drew their swords and walked towards the outside of the castle. Their mission here was over.

"Madam, Miss." The knight looked at the members of the royal family in the room and took out a small bottle from his arms. "The moment has come".

The royal family members in the room understood something. The mother hugged her trembling daughter and gently took the vial handed over by the knight. She pretended to be calm.

"Essek...if I remember correctly, you are my cousin." The woman in the room said softly. After seeing the knight nodding, she forced a smile and said: "Then, you must let the Nilfgaardians see... the power of the angry lion."

The knight's eyes fluctuated slightly: "Of course."

Knight Essek passed through each room that held members of the royal family and its branches, and the guards guarding the doors of their rooms left one by one. His footsteps were accompanied by the sound of breaking glass bottles and the sound of human bodies falling to the ground.

The knight walked to the castle door. In front of him was an avalanche of Nilfgaard soldiers pushing back the Cintra soldiers again and again.

He pulled out the sword in his hand and threw himself into the crowd without hesitation.

...

A group of Nilfgaard soldiers ran past the side of the castle. After they walked away, a secret passage opened. Two royal guards came out first to confirm security, then two other guards hurriedly ushered Princess Ciri out.

At this moment, the princess was wearing a tan griffin skin cloak, and she was holding a reddish-brown cloth bag in her arms, with a long thing wrapped inside.

The secret passage was next to the stables.

"Horse, princess. Mount quickly!"

The guard held Ciri in his arms, and the five of them ran towards the north gate, but they did not notice that a group of black-armored soldiers appeared at the corner behind them.

Ciri snuggled against the guard commander's cold plate armor and suddenly felt something spray over her head. When he looked up, he saw that it was blood from the Guard Commander's neck.

An arrow penetrated his neck from behind. Following the trajectory of the arrow, a knight wearing black armor with gold patterns and a winged helmet slowly lowered his long bow.

The commander of the guard supported the terrified Ciri who was falling from the horse, and with his last strength, managed to protect her so that she would not be hurt when she fell. The riderless horse galloped away.

The three remaining guards stopped, attempting to counterattack to protect the princess, though they were easily wiped out by a much larger enemy force.

"Count Cahir, she is Princess Cirilla, I once saw her at a banquet!"

Hearing this, Cahir stepped forward and picked up Ciri and said overjoyed: "I finally found you!"

Ciri tried to free herself while holding the reddish-brown bundle tightly in her arms, which attracted the attention of Cahir, who immediately reached out to take it away. However, Ciri also tried her best to avoid him, even biting his armor-covered hand.

"This cloak, it's made of griffin skin... so beautiful. No wonder you're the princess of Cintra."

"Heh. Princess, don't move around, be careful of getting hurt..."

Ciri, whose jaw was about to break, buried her face in the cloak in her arms, still growling fiercely: "Let go..."

"Let go of the Princess!" There was a sudden roar from the direction of the city gate, and a group of about 20 city guards rushed towards this side on horseback.

The three leaders are Ace, Swade and House.

With a light laugh, Cahir set Ciri on the horse's saddle and drew his longbow, aiming it at Ace.

At the same moment when Ace saw the enemy, he had already drawn his bow and nocked an arrow, with a fierce look in his eyes.

Both archers each had their target in their sights...

Ace's arrow crossed the battlefield like a shooting star, instantly penetrating the opponent's horse's head.

It was originally aimed at the slits in the enemy's hull. Although he knew that in the next second he could suffer a mortal wound, he was sure to take the enemy officer with him.

However, at that moment, the enemy's horse abruptly neighed, rising to its feet to protect its master from the deadly arrow, which also disrupted Cahir's calculated shot.

Ciri and Cahir fell off the horse and saw that a delicate sword had been inserted into the animal's buttocks, whose decorative crystal in the swallow-shaped pommel shone intensely.

Ciri had been hiding her sword 'Swallow' in her cloak. She had been waiting patiently for her chance. Unable to accurately insert the sword between the joints of the armor, she decided to aim at the horse below them that was not protected.

Cahir roared and drew out his sword. Who would have thought that a ten-year-old delicate princess would have such a thing in her arms?

Swade waved his sword and fought Cahir head-on. House took the opportunity to hug Ciri and ran away. The soldiers of the city defense army parted ways and then closed up in a tacit understanding, firmly protecting the princess behind them.
