CHAPTER 7: Muddle headed Jun Wun Lu

The fiancé clearly didn't believe me. That sharp, suspicious, and yeah, blue-colored peony eyes of his looked at me in a bucket full of doubts. Perhaps doubting my words or maybe my sanity.

But, surprisingly, he didn't pursue it. He nodded and called out one of his retainers, who, suddenly, was there.

"Gu Meng, come. Escort Ms. Jun Wun Lu to the Minister's Manor." Then he looked at me again and said "I would escort you myself but unfortunately, there is an urgent thing I need to do. I am sure your brothers, father, grandpa Jun and Wei'r would be glad to see you and know that you are still alive." he said.

"Now is not the best time to go back home." Ghost Wei suddenly voiced out a protest. As a reaction, I stepped back, as though wanting to flee. My mind trying to come up with an excuse.

"Hmm, say here, how sure are you I am this Jun Wun Lu?" I asked.

"You are my fiancée's sister, who practically grow up in my back yard, how could I not know you?"

"But I don't know you, how would I know you and your men are not kidnapping me or something." I insisted.

"I see. So, you want to stay here in the Willow forest? You don't care about your family who was searching for your whereabouts for almost a year?" He said with a frown forming once again on his forehead.

"Besides, don't act as though you don't know me. I heard you calling me the Crown Prince so you obviously recognized me."

"Hey, why do I feel your fiancé is hostile towards me?" I asked Ghost Wei in my mind. I felt that the Prince didn't even inquire much about how I fared given that I was supposed to have spent a year in this forest.

"Jun Wun Lu often threw herself to the Prince, trying her hardest to seduce him." Ghost Wei informed me, once again, belatedly.

I unconsciously scratched my head, feeling the stress.

"Hmmm, Crown Prince" I started, having no idea to an honorific to this world. I still need more time for Ghost Wei to tutor me. "My memory is faulty. I know you but I don't recall a lot of things, like your name." I said.

This gave the Crown Prince a pause. He looked at me closely once more. He must have felt that something is really off. He looked at the blood-stained clothing that I am wearing and the hole on the chest of my dress.

"Yeah, it really looked like you went through a catastrophe recently. However, you look very lively. And while the stain on your dress seemed to be recent with that stench of blood, but your scars look like it has been a month or more." The Prince observed.

"That is why you should go home. As much as I want to interrogate you more, this would delay us both. Gu Meng, please escort the young Miss home. Report to the Minister everything".

Gu Meng nodded in response. "Yes, your highness. Miss Jun, if I may?" He said to me gesturing the way out the forest.

Should I go or shouldn't?

However, do I really have a choice?
