Chapter 17 The Higher Being

After witnessing the destruction of the dimensional space's beauty, the higher being transformed into a semi-translucent, rough amalgamation of a human as a container for its power. It did not wish to destroy anything else of the lower realm with its vast power. It descended gracefully from the shattered sky, landing without disturbing any dust. The being gazed at the floating body of Kailey, comprehending the situation, it located her unconscious soul. With its ability, the being brought the loose soul some distance away, closer to the body. The entity gazed into the soul and examined the capsule-shaped container.

"Hmm, so a form of transcendence possession is being initiated here," muttered the being in a deep ethereal voice. It made a grabbing gesture with both of its malformed hands and began integrating the capsule holding the contract into Kailey's soul. The capsule merged into Kailey's soul like a pill dissolving into the body. Eventually, the contract settled within Kailey's soul and would forever remain.

After the capsule fully dissolved into Kailey's soul, the being grabbed Kailey's human body and soul and meshed them together. The process looked simple to an observer, but in truth, making the soul able to inhabit a vessel is very difficult if one forces an unwilling or unconscious soul. The only way for a soul to possess would be if they wanted to in the first place. The being had to adeptly manipulate the soul body to integrate into the right places; otherwise, a person would have their entire circuitry messed up. The mana circuits could be entwined inside out or be unable to function in some parts of the body, leading to areas being inoperable.

Aleshia observed in silence as a being descended from the sky and united Kailey's soul form with her physical body. She witnessed Kailey's soul form glowing brightly before being absorbed by her body. To Aleshia, the absorption of the soul form appeared like a slime merging with another slime to form a larger mass.

When the business was complete, the being left without a word and abruptly flew upwards toward the broken sky, then returned to its plane of existence. When Aleshia saw the being leaving, she ran over to Kailey. She shook the unconscious Kailey, and her eyes fluttered open. Kailey knew that this reality wouldn't last much longer. She hugged Aleshia one last time and was about to wake up, but something unexpected happened. Aleshia started dissipating into light, and when Kailey tried to grab onto her, the light began absorbing into her!
