Chapter 15 Not Chalk After sharing a heartfelt moment, the two girls separated and resumed their previous activities. Kailey recalled her plan from before being interrupted by Aleshia's scolding. She thought that if she found the thing that must have fallen off her while she was in her crisis, she might be able to do something with the soul residue. Kailey believed that with Aleshia's help, they could speed up the search, as two people searching would be more effective than one. However, When Kailey saw Aleshia holding a fragment of her soul she changed her plan. Kailey approached Aleshia to ask her how she obtained the soul fragment. Aleshia explained from the beginning saying that she was worried about Kailey's situation and had kept a close eye on her. Aleshia described seeing what looked like flakes falling from Kailey's glowing body. She kept a careful watch on it while observing Kailey. After Kailey stopped looking pained, the soul dust that had fallen from her body merged and solidified into the piece of chalk that Aleshia was currently holding in her hand. Kailey felt touched by Aleshia's concern and thanked her with a hug. After finishing up, she got to business and asked Aleshia for the soul fragment. When Aleshia handed it over to her, there was an audible crack. When Kailey turned the chalk over, she found out that the chalk was actually a mini capsule resembling a piece of chalk. Suddenly, a revelation hit Kailey. Realizing she had to put the contract into the small capsule, Kailey approached the table, grabbed the large scroll, and began rolling it up in a feeble attempt to make it fit into the small capsule. To her surprise, when she finished rolling it up, the scroll began to shrink until it perfectly fit the size of the capsule. When Kailey put the now-small contract into the capsule, nothing happened. After waiting a few more moments, there was still no activity. Confused by the lack of activity, Aleshia approached Kailey and whacked her on the head. "You dunce, what are you doing just staring at the thing? Now that I think about it, knowing there is something inside the capsule, it reminds me of a pill container, a storage implement that apothecaries prescribe to the rich folk." After being given an indirect suggestion from Aleshia, Kailey tried consuming the capsule. As she tried to swallow, the entire space around her began to tremble.
