Incongruity

Chapter 8 Incongruity Three students noticed a strange flickering mirage in the direction their teacher was looking. They immediately grabbed their wands and cast different spells to attack the hazy figure, as if they were white blood cells attacking an infection. They used the spells [Water Pellet], [Air Blade], and [Earth Bind] with varying levels of skill. Meanwhile, two other students didn't see the strange phenomenon and kept walking towards the magic formation as if nothing was happening. The rest of the class carried on as usual, not responding to the action in front of their eyes. This oddity bothered the teacher. During Kailey's deliberations, the magic that was directed at her surprisingly did not affect her at all. She simply phased through the rock encasing her, and the water pellets whizzed through without leaving any impact. However, the air blade did create a cut on her skin, letting her and her attacker know that she wasn't invulnerable to attacks using wind magic. This caused Kailey's adrenaline to increase and made her able to think faster and notice the oddity that the teacher had long since noticed. The first incongruity that Kailey noticed was that the teacher and the three students noticed her, second was because they were actively interacting with her which she previously tested in a not so serious manner. this made only four out of the previous three children and a dozen or so people she tried to interact with before this whole mess. This made these four people special in a way because they could see her, interact with her, and physically touch her in some way. The teacher noticed an unusual situation in the among the stands and decided to test a theory with a spell creating a large explosion. Surprisingly, nobody seemed to react to the explosion they either just stared at the board or jotted down notes. The only ones who were affected by the explosion were Kailey and the teacher herself. This made the teacher even more puzzled and left her with more unanswered questions. After the explosion, Kailey recovered from the blinding light and loud noise then quickly began to chant a spell that created an air shield around her. Once the shield was activated, she saw that the teacher was approaching her. She readied herself fearing of another battle, but the teacher spoke to her through the use of [Mind Speech], saying, "It appears that you are responsible for this absurd and unusual situation."
