The little girl's hair

******Eleven years ago******

“Mama!” A child ran to her mother looking, down casted.

“Hey! Ariella, are you okay? Why do you look so sad?”

“Mum, I can't magically bloom flowers!” The child replied, face down.

“Haha…" The woman laughed lightly. “Listen to me, honey. You are just five years old, so don't be in a rush. When you become sixteen, you will be more than capable of blooming flowers. When that time comes, you need to be strong because as a future queen, you will have numerous enemies around you.”

“Me? A queen? But Mum, Tracy is older than I am, and I don't want my sister's birthright.”

“Look, your dad just got back, go say hello to him.” The woman said, and the child ran to her father.

“You don't know how special you are my dear Ariella,” she muttered

Protocol was observed, and now it was time for the princesses to come forward and showcase their powers. Tracy walked forward proudly, ready to show how more than capable she was. She was the first to start her display because she was the first child. She closed her eyes for a moment and then fire like snow began to fall. The people cheered happily. No one was as happy as Ariella was. She was the biggest fan of her elder sister.

Tracy raised her hands and opened them wide, then fire sprung out like water from the ground on different sides of the hall. Tracy walked into one of the fires and stood, but she wasn't burnt. Children present at the event imitated her and entered the fire also, they were not burnt either. Parents giggled at their children's silliness.

Tracy made a fire sculpture of her father. The king was thrilled to see how much his daughter could create something liked mannered with her magic. She also made fire works and the people were beyond excited and cheered her. Tracy waved lightly at the crowd in appreciation and stepped aside.

“Our beautiful, amazing, able and loving princess has proven to us that she now can use her magic properly. She has proven to us that she's truly the heir to the King. We are all convinced by what we all have observed that she's the child from the King's loins.

Brave is she!

Beautiful is she!

Courageous and strong is she!

Her majesty!” The speaker at the event spoke and bowed to her.

Ariella was called upon next to show what she could do with her magic. She created a crown of flowers, walked up to Tracy and placed it on her head. She made more crowns of flowers and distributed them magically, and it rested on every woman/ girl's head, but none of them was as beautiful as the one placed on Tracy's head.

Ariella got distracted when she noticed a little girl child that was bald. She left the pulpit where she was standing and walked up to the little girl and knelt in front of her. The eyes of all the faires were now on her.

“Hey! What's your name, little one?” Ariella asked.

“Courtney! Her name is Courtney. Her majesty!” The mother of the little girl hastily replied.

“ What happened to her?”

“She got diagnosed with an unusual ailment and in the process of battling with it, she lost her hair.” Ariel was moved with compassion and pity. How could a very little, innocent girl like this have a life-threatening sickness. She felt the urge to take the little girl's hand, then she stood up, took it and closed her eyes. There was a surge of strength within her. She couldn't explain it. A light so bright shone out from the bracelet and covered both of them, making them invisible.

The fairies shielded their eyes from the light because it was blinding. King sabastine panicked. What just happened? He had never seen anything like that before. Were the two girls okay? Where did the light come from?

Everyone present, even the most trained guards, were scared to death… None had the gut to go close to the light.

Suddenly, the light vanished, and the girls became visible again. The little girl's hair was back! The people screamed in shock and excitement. Tracy stood up with her eyes almost popping out. What just happened? It was unbelievable! The little girl's hair was back, she'd never seen an occurrence shocking as this. Jealousy, rage, hate flooded her, and she couldn't help but wish Ariel was never her sister.

Ariel stood still, she tried to open her eyes but was too weak to, her lid felt heavy. She felt feeble and drained. What was happening? Why were the people cheering? She tried again to open her eyes, but instead she blacked out. The king hurriedly flew to his daughter and grabbed her before she got to the ground. He flew away immediately with her to her room, Daisy and the doctors who were also present followed suit. Almost all the guards trailed along too.

Courtney's mother ran to her, knelt beside her, hugged her and started weeping. She was too overwhelmed with Joy, never in her life had she ever thought her daughter will have her hair back. Courtney touched her hair, jumped up and yelled,

“ mama! Mama! My hair is back again.”

“ Thou Protector of your own, I bless you! Oh! bless You!” It was all Courtney's mother could utter.

The hall became as quiet as a graveyard when Tracy flew closer to the crowd. They had all forgotten she was still there. She roughly pushed the mother away from her child. Tracy touched and scattered the little girl's hair to confirm if it was true. The hair was real and natural. All Tracy wanted to do was to pull out all the girl's hair from her scalp, but she controlled the urge.

“What are you all still doing here? Are you all foolish not to know that the event has ended? By the time I am back, I would rather not see anyone here.” Her voice echoed loudly. Having said that, she flew out of the hall, but not without giving little Courtney and her mother a deadly look. The fairies all immediately started to leave.

Her mirror broke! How could her mirror break? That wasn't ordinary. A power beyond her must have damaged her precious mirror. Was Sabastine aware she was spying on him and his daughters and decided to break the mirror with his powers? It must be him! Because she couldn't fathom what happened.

She had watched his first daughter display her skills, the lass had mastered level two perfectly. She also watched his second daughter display her skills but wasn't intrigued or excited by what she saw. What was she going to do with a fairy who only knew how to make crowns of flowers? Nonsense! The girl was useless. It was when that unuseful girl held the little child's hands and closed her eyes that her mirror broke. She wished she had watched the stupid girl make a fool of herself. Was she trying to do? Was she trying to be a magician or what? .

The first daughter was the perfect bait to use. She saw the deadly look she kept throwing at her sister, that was a proof the message she sent her maidservant to deliver to her was properly sent. The easiest way to penetrate a lovely and united family is to divide them or cause disunity among them. That was her very first step, she sent her maidservant to Tracy and Tracy's heart got poisoned against her sister. The hate in Tracy's heart against her sister will lead Tracy to her.

Thankfully, her mirror could be fixed again magically. She couldn't afford to miss following up Tracy, soon she will dethrone Sabastine and become Queen of fairy paradise.

“I am coming for you Fairy paradise!” She declared and laughed evilly.
