1 Eternal Will

The grass is moving with the wind, the river is moving with the flow... But there is David, the one entity who doesn't move... David lives on a farm in the middle of nowhere in the nation of Tengria, one of the 7 nations in Toqra. Toqra's 6 nations are on it while 1 nation is so above and so below it. David is a human in Tengria, not a demigod. Humans face racism and classism every day in this corrupt world that is as big as a star. David's house is surrounded by woods, as he lives in the countryside. We start this saga in the middle of a conflict, between David and his parents...

-It is alright Mother. I will be fine.

His Father, Adam shouted:

-Cut the kid some slack Maria!

-What? I am just worried about my son. The dangers out there are way too much for him to comprehend. We don't need money. I can stay alive with herbs you know?

Maria cradles his son in her arms while ruffling his hair. David is annoyed as we can understand from his wrinkled expression. He feels comfortable though, and he also enjoys his closeness with his mother. He hugs her back as she cradles his mother.

-Mother, I am 16 now. People my age already do this type of work. I can handle it too. Plus your sickness will not be cured until I come with the medicine that I will get from Cidir.

Maria frowns.

-Oh well, I guess my little bird is gonna fly off eh?

-I am not gonna go for forever. I will return in a day or two.

-Very well... But please stay safe, alright?

-Of course... See you two in a week...

His father gives a reassuring nod as David gives a gaze to him wanting both of them to stay safe.

He walks towards the path into the woods as his house is in the middle of nowhere. The woods are filled with moisture and are quite wet from the last rain. David takes a breath in from the smell of wet earth as he walks. He sees that the birds are chirping and flowers are blooming, he thinks What can possibly go wrong? He reaches the train station after an hour in the woods. David gets on the train and sits in his seat, the train is newly cleaned for the day so it doesn't smell bad. He looks through the window of his seat, wondering what the gods of Toqra are doing right now.

He reaches Cidir and exits the train. Cidir is the capital of Tengria and in the middle of it is the castle of Kayra, the god of war and ruler of Tengria. He then walks to the nearest pharmacy to get some medicine for his mother as she is sick and needs medication to stay alive. While he is walking, a man stops him and hands him a brochure.

-Hey, would you like to hear about our lord and ruler Kayra? He is the god of war and he wants to protect us... Wait, you are a human?

David looks at him with a raised eyebrow. Understanding where the conversation is leading.

-Yes, so what?

The man scoffs at him

-Sorry I didn't know I was talking to a lowly peasant.

-I am a what?!

-A human, a mere mortal. An insect that was meant to be crushed by demigods like me. What are you even doing here? Go back to your caves!

David is seriously angry at this. But he knows he can do nothing about it as this world is not equal but rather corrupt.

-I am gonna go to a pharmacy. So please let me go.

The man pushes him. And looks at him with a sinister smile.

-Of course, I won't touch a monkey like you. After all, we demigods were created specifically to carry the blood of gods. Even a lowly preacher like me is higher in the hierarchy than you are.

David walks off, angered by the corrupt society of Toqra as this is not something special to Tengria. He reaches the pharmacy. He waits in the line for a while. He waits and waits, and after some time an old lady sits next to him, the lady looks very old and weak. She has wrinkles all over her face and hair on her chin. She starts to talk.

-You are a human right? I am so sorry for you. It must be a burden to live as a full-blood mortal.

-I may be human but I still am a living person you know?

-I did not mean to offend you, young man. I was simply expressing my sadness for you. You see, we demigods were made and didn't evolve like humans. We were made to populate Toqra and be the secondary rulers of humans... I don't like that role, to be honest with you... I think we all should have equal rights.

-Sorry, lady. But that is not gonna happen anytime soon.

David says with sadness. He finally gets to the front of the line and buys his medicines. The medicine he bought are really cheap versions of a much more expensive medication. He walks out, it is night time and he should not wait any longer and hop into the next train to go back to his peaceful home...

Two days pass by as David returns from the city of Cidir. As he walks through the woods, he sees smoke rising on the horizon, from his house. He rubs his eyes trying to see if he is just dreaming about Fatigue. But there is smoke rising from his house.

-MOTHER!

He starts running to his house at full speed. Not minding his environment. He trips over and bleeds but gets up and continues to run. As he reaches his house, he sees nothing but a ruin. He quickly opens the door of what is left of the house... and what he sees are the corpses of his family.

-Mother... Father...

He cries and screams in agony. Trying to calm himself down and think properly. He can't believe his eyes as he sees the symbol of Quora, the prime god, next to the corpses of his parents. When a god kills an enemy, they leave a symbol that shows others what happens to those people who go against them so they can take lessons from the dead. This pain is too much for him. As he slowly wraps his arms around his mother's corpse, he thinks about ending his life... But then, lightning sparks in his head. A taste of revenge comes to his tongue. He thinks: Why am I the one to die? No... NO! I won't die today! I won't die until I take my revenge on those so-called gods! With that, he feels more free and has a goal. That goal is to slay all gods and take revenge for his family...

*2 years later, Shintooshi*

David is now 18, he thinks about his family as he sits on his bench in the arena. But this time he is not the spectator, but the warrior.

-Oi! It's your time!

Says the crooked presenter. David gets angry at his behavior but stops himself from punching the guy's face. At this point, everything angers and pains him. He slowly stands up and walks to the gate of the arena. A smell of sweat, piss, and blood comes to his nose. The gate slowly opens and he gets into the arena. Looking to other contestants, as his reason for being here is not the prize but to recruit people to fight against the gods with him. And who else is better for the job than the crackhead warriors of Shintooshi, one of the six nations in Toqra. He finally steps out and takes a breath in, feeling the sun against his skin...
