17 The Sudden Visit

The constant hammering on Thea's door jolted her out of sleep. She snuck her face under the pillow after picking it up. Thea had not yet had a good night's sleep after her rebirth, and she was too exhausted yesterday to move her body.

Her sleepy head is rudely awakened by a loud pounding at her door and startled to see Anne enter swiftly. She furrows her brows in perplexity.

"I just want to sleep more. Can I sleep all day and at least have daybreak?"

She grumbled to herself as she buried her head in the pillow.

In between yawning, she asked, peering between her pillows, "Anne, what's wrong."

"We have a visitor, Ms. Thea, said a beaming Anne, who was unable to conceal her joy.

Thea awoke as she lazily sat in her bed. Her focus, however, was drawn to Anne's enthusiasm, which she could see clearly.

'What made Anne so joyful this morning'

"Who the devil dares to disturb my sleep so early this morning, Anne?"

Thea grumbled, rubbing her eyes in irritation. She wished she could have slept longer, but this idiotic guest keeps disturbing her peaceful sleep.

She explained, "Miss, it's no longer morning; it's already beyond noon. I just didn't wake you up because I believed you needed more time to sleep.

Thea beams in appreciation of Anne's concern for her well-being. but as soon as she noticed her fiddling with her dress, she arched an eyebrow. Is there an issue once more? Despite the fact that Anne was acting strangely again, unlike last night, she appeared to be very cheerful today, so she cannot help but worry.

"And I believe you still have something to share with me about the guest, namely who it was.?"

Anne grinned at her and added, "Miss, your fiancée, the General is waiting for you," in a light-hearted tone.

She jumped out of bed, staring at Anne in shock, "Erick is here?"

"Yes Miss, he is waiting for you, for about three hours,"

She shrieked at Anne, "WHAT?!? And you just woke me up now."

Anne averts her gaze. "I'm sorry, Miss, but I tried to wake you up as soon as Mr. Warton arrived, but he stopped me and said it was appropriate for him to wait for you till you woke up since he visited unexpectedly and he doesn't want to disturb your sleep."

"I'm genuinely sorry, young miss, but you slept for too long and I've chosen to wake you up now."

"No, you don't have to say sorry. I would rather say thank you. Erick wouldn't wait any longer. Where is he?" Thea grumbled and waved at Anne in opposition.

"Miss, you can see the general in the living room."

"How about Grandpa?"

"Master Thomas went early this morning since he had to go to the La Roche Headquarters for something urgent."

Thea was about to leave her room wearing nothing but her pajamas to meet Ericks when she nodded, "Alright, thanks, Anne."

Thea was wearing pink bunny pajamas when Anne knit her eyebrow and said, "Hmm... I guess you wouldn't want to meet your fiancée only wearing that."

Thea stopped walking when she realized she was only wearing pajamas. She nearly forgot how Thea in this life used to dress extravagantly for appearances because she was so used to moving around in her apartment like this.

"Indeed, I almost forgot, I guess."

"Let me help you to prepare, Miss," Anne says with a smile.

Thea spun around in front of the mirror and said, "Anne, I don't think it's appropriate for me to wear this lovely outfit at home. I'm just meeting Erick downstairs," she said, looking confused.

Thea initially regarded Anne with suspicion, but she ignored her and agreed to wear the white dress she usually reserved for special occasions earlier when they were getting ready. The only reason Thea did this was to get Anne to stop bugging her about it.

Thea appreciated Anne's passion but thought it was excessive. She had never done this kind of preparation before, especially when she had simply stayed at home.

No, young miss, this will go with your fiancée's suit, Anne shook her head firmly.

Thea, on the other hand, tilted her head and exclaimed, "Erick donned a suit again?"

She exclaimed joyfully, "Yeah, Miss, you have a date today, right, Miss?"

Thea asked in astonishment, "A date?"

Anne squeals with joy as she nods.

She answered joyfully, "Oh!! Miss you don't have to be bashful around me. It's normal for you to be astonished since it's your first date; just be yourself. Furthermore, you look like a goddess, no man can ignore you".

Thea looks at herself in the mirror, realizing how stunning she looked. Erick, did you ask me out today? She beams in anticipation of Erick's appearance and behavior on a date.

Anne beckons Thea outside her door, saying, "Go on now, Miss, your prince charming is waiting for you."

After laughing at Anne's gesture, Thea moved into the living room. When she arrived, the man's wide back immediately came into focus in her mind. He was gazing at the garden while standing on the balcony.

As a perfect gentleman, he was attired in a black suit, and his hair was neatly brushed. Although lying on his back. Thea was already aware of her man's good looks.

"Erick, I apologize for keeping you waiting; I wasn't expecting you."

When Erick turned around and abruptly confronted her, the words she was about to say stopped in her throat. Thea was taken aback by how dashing Erick appeared today, and she couldn't help but take another admiring glance at her fiance. His suit complemented his muscular, well-built figure, and his coif properly accentuated his angular macho jaw.

'Erick, you're being cheeky my lovely fiancée; do you want me to have a heart attack.' You'll regret it if you provoke me. You have no idea how much I want to devour you, she chuckled secretly as she thought.

Thea quickly pulled herself away from Erick's appealing face. To cover her shameless thoughts, she cleared her throat.

She said quietly, "What brings you here, Erick?" Thea already has bright red cheeks, which does not escape Erick's gaze; he chuckled at her cute demeanor. Unbeknownst to her, Thea's face betrayed her calm tone.

'So cute', he remarked.
