CHAPTER 42

Out of his office came Master Makarov, who is seen carrying a huge stack of papers in one hand and a wooden staff in the other. The old man had an annoyed look on his face. He looks at Enzo and said, "Thank you for dealing with the ruckus".

"Well, someone had to do it", Enzo replied.

"Cheeky brat", Makarov replied.

Makarov scanned the surroundings and he saw an unfamiliar face among the crowd and asked, "A newcomer?".

"Yes", the blonde woman responded.

"What's your name?"

"Lucy sir" the blonde woman responded.

"Well nice to meet you, Lucy", Makarov said. Makarov then interrupted the guild members that we're cleaning up by tapping his staff on the ground.

"tap..tap..tap.."

Everyone stops what they were doing and they all look towards Master Makarov.

"Listen up you fools. You see these document papers in my hand", Makarov said as he raised the papers, and he continued, "These documents are from the Magic Council".

"Let's read to some of them shall we", Makarov said as he randomly picks one document and began reading it.

"Gray Fullbuster, eliminated a smuggling organization but after you did that you ran around town, naked! and on top of that, you stole someone's underwear so that you can use it for yourself"

"Cana Alberona drinking 15 barrels of alcohol and charging it to the Magic Council"

"Loki, flirting with Council elder member's granddaughter. Also, a certain talent agency charged us for damaged compensation too"

"Natsu Dragneel, destroying a historical clock tower to the ground, burning down a church, damaging parts of Lupinus Castle, and destroying half of Hargeon's port, just to name a few"

One by one Makarov told the members about all the complaints that people had sent to the Magic Council which in turn the Magic Council sent to Makarov due to him being the Guild Master.

The guild members that were called were all having a weird and sorry expression on their faces as they heard what the master had told them.

After reading some of the documents, Makarov pause for a while, and then he said, "Guys, the council members are angry at me all the time".

There was a hush silence in the air due to what Makarov said. Most of the guild members were somewhat feeling guilty now.

"But forget about the Magic Council", Makarov said with a determined look on his face, he then burned the entire file of documents and threw it away. This led to Natsu eating the fire.

"Listen up. The power of overcoming reasoning is born from reasoning. Magic is not a miracle. When the magic flow within us, and the magic flow in nature connects, they will form an embodiment for the first time. You will need a strong mentality and a lot of concentration for that. I mean, pouring all of your soul into whatever you do is magic. If you keep worrying about the watchful eyes of the higher-ups your magic won't improve. DO NOT FEAR THE FOOLS OF THE COUNCIL. DO WHATEVER YOU THINK IS RIGHT!!! THAT IS THE WAY OF THE FAIRY TAIL MAGES"

"YEAH!!!"

Right after hearing Makarov's speech the entire guild starting having a celebration. Throughout Makarov's speech, Enzo had seated himself at the counter and was drinking his beer. Makarov saw him and seated himself beside Enzo.

"I got them to clean their mess up and all you had to do was give a speech and now they're no longer cleaning. There back to partying again", Enzo said to Makarov.

"Hahahahah. Don't sweat the small stuff Enzo", Makarov said to Enzo. He then looks at Mira and said, "Would you kindly process Lucy, so that she can finally become an official member of the guild".

"Yes master", Mira replied.

After Lucy had her mark place, she was properly introduced to the members of the guild. You can see the visible joy that Lucy was having on her face as she mingles with the other members of the guild.

For the next few weeks, Lucy had been able to do missions with some of the members of the guild. But she mostly does mission with Natsu, Happy, Gray, and Erza.

One morning Lucy entered the guild and she spotted Erza talking with a girl she didn't recognize. Erza and the girl went towards the training grounds of the guild and she followed after them due to her having nothing to do. In the training ground, Erza and the girl begin to spar.

She was quite impressed with the girl's abilities to stand toe to toe with Erza's swordsmanship. She had witnessed how powerful Erza could be with a blade, for the girl to fight on equal footing with Erza was really impressive. But one thing that caught her interest was that the girl never unsheaths her sword. She was fighting Erza with her sword never being released.

After a while of fighting, Erza stored her sword and said to Kagura, "Nicely done Kagura. Your manipulation of Gravity magic was extremely subtle that most mage would have a hard time figuring out what was wrong".

"Thanks, Erza, that means a lot", Kagura said with a smile on her face.

During their short spar, Kagura was testing out a new method in using Gravity Magic. Gravity magic was often used in a visible way due to the caster using it on a large scale or large area, she also belongs in this group of mages who use gravity magic like this.

Kagura wanted to diversify her repertoire so she added a new method in using her magic. During the spar, Kagura was manipulating the gravity in small sections of Erza's body. For example, when Erza swings her sword, Kagura would apply small amounts of her gravity magic in Erza's wrist does ruining her swing. Or she could apply gravity in Erza's ankle ruining her balance mid-swing. This method allows her to ruin the fighting form of her opponents during combat. An added bonus was her saving up magic power as well.

Erza spotted Lucy and she motioned for her to come to them and she introduces her to Kagura. "Kagura, this is Lucy. She is part of Team Natsu, just like me", Erza said.

"Nice to meet you Lucy", Kagura said as she shakes the blonde woman's hand.

"Same here. You have excellent swordsmanship skills. I never thought that there was another mage in Fairy Tail that uses a sword. And to stand toe to toe against Erza, that's really impressive", Lucy said as she shakes Kagura's hand.

With a blush forming on her face, Kagura thanks Lucy for the compliment.

"I have a question though, if you don't mind me asking"

"Sure, I don't mind"

"Why didn't use unsheath your sword?", Lucy asked with interest.

With a determined look on Kagura's face, she looks at her blade and said, "In the beginning, I used to take the blade out but then I had a goal in mind. I will only unsheath the blade when I think I can do that goal".

"What's the goal?"

With a smile on Kagura's face, she looks at Lucy and said, "To put some sense into someone's head and to tell him that you don't distance yourself from people that are important to you".

With a furrowed brow, Lucy asked, "Who is that person?".

"Enzo Lockhart", Kagura replied.
