Bodyguard

"He didn't do or say anything to make me upset in the slightest, so silence!" My shout makes the halls go silent. I have never shouted in this school or even raised my voice for that matter, so it's no surprise that I've stunned everyone into silence. "As a matter of fact, I felt far more comfortable with him than I have with any of you. Have any of you ever heard of personal space by any chance?"

"O-Oh, w-we're sorry..." The ladies around me take a couple steps back, but the boys don't move.

"B-But you need protection from scary guys like him right?" One of the boys asks.

"Did you not hear a word I just said? I believe I told you I felt more comfortable near him than I have with any of you. Besides, even if he was as dangerous as you all say, you wouldn't do anything. You'd just coware away like you have been the entire day. But he's not dangerous, he hasn't even said one mean thing to me, has been quite polite, and complimented me several times, and they felt quite genuine, unlike some of the compliments I'm always receiving..."

My last comment made my admirers' eyes go wide, filled with shock, and then they became angry. "After all we've said and done for you, this is how-"

Before they can even retort fully, I speak once more. "As a matter of fact..." I walk back into the classroom, grab Jeshan's hand, and walk out of the class with him, all the other students immediately backing away in fear. "I think I'll keep him close just so I won't have to deal with all of you." I smile the same bright way I always do. I glance at Jeshan to see his eyes just a bit wider than usual, and mumble something so only he can hear. "Looks like I got a reaction out of you, huh?" I smile, him tilting his head in response, and I pull him along to my locker before anyone can say a word.

Once out of sight, I let go of his hand and let out a deep sigh of relief. "Phew... Well that went a whole lot better than I expected." I look up at Jeshan and quickly bow my head. "Forgive me, I'm really really sorry. I didn't mean to use you like that, but it was the only thing I could think of to get them away from me at the time."

"Don't worry about it." He responds without any hesitation, reaching into his locker, which is a couple lockers down from mine, and starts putting away his school supplies and grabbing his bag. "If I can be useful to someone in some way, then it doesn't matter if I'm just used."

Even though he's using the same emotionless tone, I can feel a hint of sadness in those words, and I frown. An idea pops into my mind however and I smile brightly once again. "Then how about I compensate you?" I turn to my locker to put away my own school supplies and grab my bag.

"Compensate?" He tilts his head again.

"For every day that you stay by my side and keep me safe, I'll do something for you in return. It can be something you want, or if you can't think of anything, I'll show you my gratitude in some way. What do you say?" I hold out my hand for him to shake.

He pauses, just staring at my hand as he thinks to himself. "Are you sure? We already have every class together, sit super close, and even our lockers are close to each other's."

"I'm aware, but you have no obligation to leave class at the same time as I do, walk with me to and from all of my classes, and sit with me at lunch now do you?" I continue to smile at him, not wavering even a little bit. He pauses again, narrows his eyes, and grasps his chin as he thinks to himself once more. When I see him standing like that, my heart flutters, but I manage to not falter any or blush. "He really is handsome..." I think to myself as my gaze never averts from his face.

He regains his blank expression before reaching out his hand. "I guess you have a point... Alright then." He grasps my hand and shakes it. His grip is firm, but gentle, and he looks into my eyes as he speaks. "I promise to walk you too and from every class, sit with you at lunch, and wait for you while you're at your locker, in order to keep you safe. I'll even walk with you to your home partially if you want."

I pause myself this time, and my smile falters as I start thinking to myself, "I really would enjoy that...but unfortunately that's not an offer I can accept." "Thank you, but I'm always driven home by a butler of my household. But, if we ever hang out after classes or anything of the sort, I'll happily take you up on that offer." I say aloud, grasping his hand in return and shaking it as I smile once more. "I'll see you tomorrow then, Jeshan?"

He nods at me. "And every day after that, Sara."

I release his hand and turn to walk away, but quickly stop and turn to him. "Is there anything you want for today?"

He shakes his head. "No, you already helped me in all of my classes and you were the one who was required to help me. Since I was also indirectly helping you, then we can call this even."

I smile and nod my head. "Alrighty then, tomorrow it is. I'll see you right here at 8 AM on the dot!" I speak cheerfully before skipping off down the hall and out the front doors of the school. Right outside the front gate is the limo that takes me to and from school, as well as the butler who drives it. He bows upon seeing me and I give him my usual, fake smile. "Hello Edward."

He nods his head and opens the back door for me. "How was school today mistress?" I duck my head and get into the back of the limo. Despite how I'm treated, I must admit I do live a rather nice life at home. This limo not only has a mini fridge with all my favorite drinks, but also a small tv that plays all my favorite shows.

I wait for Edward to get into the driver's seat before answering him. "It was...fulfilling to say the least." I smile softly to myself as I remember all the events that occurred.

"You sound rather happy, mistress. Did anything good happen today?" Edward asks as he starts up the car.

"Yeah, I just got a few really good grades back today in a couple of my classes is all. Same old same old." I giggle, not technically lying to him, but there's no way I'll tell him the full story. If I told Edward about Jeshan, he'd most definitely tell my parents, and who knows what they'd do or how they'd react.

"That's very good, mistress. I'll be sure to let your parents know the good news." He chuckles.

"Focus on driving Edward, I'm watching my shows." I open a bottle of unsweetened tea from my fridge and start watching tv, inputting a code on my interface so I'm the only one that can hear the tv. I continue watching the romantic comedy series I always watch to and from school, but I internally dread arriving home, for I never know when my parents might have their own news for me.
