19 I can handle them

Qian Ming stood behind Li Qingling. He had followed her because he needed to give Yunqing a final check-up before she's discharged the next day. He did not move an inch immediately Li Qingling stopped by the door to Yunqing's room.

'Hum! So that was why she did it,' he thought. Even though he knew her reason now. His impression of her had only increased by 1 from 0 points in his 100-grade point system.

'Wait! Since when did I become so gossipy about my patients,' he internally questioned himself, wondering about his odd behaviour. Shaking the thoughts away, he tapped Li Qingling and said, "I think we should go in now, ma'am."

"Hmm…" Li Qingling just hummed before walking into the room.

As they walked in, Sun Qiuyue, who had noticed them, immediately greeted Li Qingling. "Ah! Sister Qingling, You're here," Sun Qiuyue said.

Her actions stopped Zhu Yanyu, who was about to flare up as a cover to prevent Zhu Yunqing from revealing anything. Zhu Yanyu immediately had an innocent expression and said, "Hello, Aunty!"

As soon as her mother entered the room, Zhu Yunqing's expression brightened up with a playful smile etched on her face as an idea formed in her head. "Mom, the air here has a foul smell. I want a change of room. Can the yellowed-haired doctor help with that?" she said without even sparing a glance at Sun Qiuyue and her daughter. She said her last statement while facing Qian Ming.

Li Qingling didn't pay any attention to the greetings of Sun Qiuyue or Zhu Yanyu. Instead, she knew her daughter was acting and followed her act. She turned and spoke to Qian Ming, "Isn't a toxic environment bad for the patients' health, Dr Qian?" She glanced to the side where Qian Ming stood waiting for the family drama to end so he could do his work.

'Well, since they want to include me in the act, then no problem, after all, she is my patient,' Qian Ming thought before responding, "Yes ma'am! A toxic environment will definitely hinder the speedy recovery of the patient. So, I apologize but unfortunately, I will have to ask you to leave." After answering Li Qingling's question, he turned to Sun Qiuyue before saying the last statement.

Sun Qiuyue and Zhu Yanyu's faces were blackened after the humiliation. "Sister Qingling, I, and Yu'er need to go now. Sorry, we can't chat today. We'll make sure to visit when Yunqing gets discharged," Sun Qiuyue tried to save their faces. As they scurried out of the room.

Meanwhile, Zhu Yunqing was all smiles when her little act was continued by her mother and Qian Ming. She even gave them a condescending look as she gazed at their fleeing figures with their embarrassed faces.

"Humph!" Li Qingling harrumphed haughtily, refusing to give them face. Then she turned to Qian Ming and apologized for what he witnessed and asked him to continue with his work.

"Sorry Doctor Qian, please go ahead."

"It's fine ma'am," he replied before going about with his duties.

But before he could even ask Zhu Yunqing about how she was doing, she said, "Oh~ I never knew that yellow-haired doctor knew how to act! You could make a lot with your acting if you ever got tired of being a physic- I mean a doctor."

Qian Ming was angry, but he did well hiding it. He had never seen a more pestering patient that Zhu Yunqing. 'Why can't she just stop calling me that? (Sigh) Thank goodness she's leaving tomorrow,' he thought. He felt the best course of action now was to ignore her words so, he just continued with the check-up.

"Do you have any pain anywhere? Or Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?" he asked completely ignoring her previous comment.

"Tch! I am fine. Never been better," Zhu Yunqing replied with a grave expression. Well, she only annoyed him because she was stuck in the hospital with nothing else to do other than to eat and sleep. She sort of blamed him for it as her mother seemed to listen to whatever he said concerning her health. Hence, why she also started annoying him and calling him yellow-haired doctor. But since she was getting discharged the next day, she might as well let him off the hook. So she did not hinder his work anymore by pestering him. So, when Doctor Qian Ming finished the final check-up, he left.

Meanwhile, the mother and daughter pair who just left the room were fuming mad. Sun Qiuyue was only able to calm her daughter down saying, "Don't worry, she won't be so arrogant for too long."

After Doctor Qian Ming left Zhu Yunqing's room. Li Qingling went and sat on the bed beside Yunqing and started questioning her, "Yunqing, since when did you start being so naughty? Why didn't you tell me anything about them? They may be your aunt and cousin, but they cannot be treating you like that. And what is really up between you and Yanyu?"

"Mom it's fine. Don't worry! I can handle them," Zhu Yunqing said trying to reassure her mother. She had come to see Li Qingling as a mother figure. Li Qingling might not be able to replace her mother, but no one said she was a substitute. After all, she was the mother of the original Zhu Yunqing, and she did not cause her any harm; so, there was no need to disrespect her. Instead, she regarded her as her second mother, most especially after Li Qingling took care of her since she woke up. Although she felt guilty, she will just have to treat her well from then on. Since she was blessed to have lived two (2) lifetimes and had two (2) mothers, she would make sure she appreciates this one more to make sure she has no regrets about it.

"That does not stop the fact that you should have told me what happened," Li Qingling said sternly. Even if she was being sidelined, she should at least have the right to care about her daughter.
