More Training

I blink and look around. Mother is looking at me with a worried look on her face. I smile, "Mother I'm fine. I remember everything now let's get back to training!" I say, narrowing my yellow eyes in seriousness. I then head into the cabin and start following the instructions on one of the potions. I shockingly succeed and it is perfect.

"Woah," Alita says, shocked at how well I'm doing now. I help teach her how to cast spells and create them as well. She's a slower learner than I am but I am constantly practicing alongside her whenever I can. I've recently been going out at night to hunt and search for more ingredients for the potions. On the full moon, I let my inner wolf run wild and hunt for food to bring to Father as I do every night but tonight I will be bringing more food than I have before.

I bound into the woods dragging as much of my fresh kill as I can and leaving it at the river where Father will show up in at least thirty minutes. I then drag the rest of my fresh kill to the river right when Father shows up.

"What's all this for my beautiful baby girl?" Father asks, pointing his snout in the direction of the pile of fresh kill, his tan fur reflecting the moonlight as it hits the two of us.

"It's for the whole pack. I know that the pack has been having a hard time catching fresh kill now that Winter is drawing near and I figured I would give you and the pack a feast." I answer, picking up as much fresh kill as I can, while Father grabs the rest.

Together we head back to the pack and set down all the fresh kill in one big pile. Father howls the howl of feast and all the wolves in the pack come running out of their dens. Father takes first pick and he nods thanks. "You should head back to your mother. We should be fine for now." Father says, his voice muffled by the fresh kill in his mouth.

"Alright. Bye Dad, I love you!" I say before running back to Mother's cabin. I shift back to human form and sigh. I slowly and quietly tiptoed into my room, then I sat on my bed. I groan as I lie down on my bed, staring up at my ceiling, which resembles the night sky on a full moon while my walls resemble the woods. I then end up falling asleep.

The next morning, we're going to be learning the long lost Fae Tongue of which has only been remembered by the witches. I sigh and get out of bed, somewhat excited to be learning something new after days of learning spells and potions. Airlia is still teaching me how to use healing magic but it's harder for me since I'm a natural hunter and because of my wolf blood. I yawn, tired from all my hunting last night, and head out to the kitchen, where Mother waits with a plate of bacon and blueberry pancakes.

"Breakfast smells good Mama," I say, drooling a little, forgetting how tired I am and instead, focusing on how hungry I am.

Mother narrows her eyes at me, "No, none of this is for you." She says in a scolding tone.

"Wha-? Whyyy?" I whine, pouting, as my stomach growls loudly. I sigh, knowing exactly why. "Mama, come on! I didn't eat anything last night, I was just visiting Father and the pack to see how they were doing!" I say, clearly upset.

"You're not supposed to be shifting into your wolf form and you know that! We can't have any of the others here find out about you!" Mother says, clearly worried and scared for me.

"Mom, no one saw me. I would've smelled them." I say with a sigh, rubbing my neck.

Mother says, "Still, you have to be careful, we can't have Elves or Unicorns finding out that you're a hybrid witch." I sigh and shake my head.

"Okay, Mama. It won't happen again I promise." I say, sadly, looking away. Mother hugs me, soothing me, softly singing old lullabies in the old Fae Tongue, the Tongue of the Witches. I close my eyes and listen.

"My little wolf, I do not wish to lose you that is why I worry about you," Mother says, brushing my hair out of my face. I smile and hug Mother before heading outside.
