I don't really want to go to the Cranwell house but Lanis wants me there and I would do anything for him. I like his family because they brought him to me. No matter what, they will always be the reason why Lanis is who he is today and even though his father has come a long way from how he used to be, I know he still doesn't like me.

I gave him grandchildren but it will not be easy to just get rid of that hate that he had for my kind. Things are different now. He is cordial with me and he loves the twins so much. That is the only reason why I am still able to welcome him to the community.

"You ready?'' Lanis peers his head into the door but doesn't enter.

I put on my jacket and nod slightly.

I know it is going to be a long day. This is the first wake up ceremony I have attended—never thought I would be saying that.
