35 Surprise Visit

"Yun Shu, you're here." Feng Jia Li flashed a smile when she saw her daughter-in-law. "Mom heard from Qi Zheng that you would be moving in with him today. So, I came to look if you would need any help."

Feng Jia Li Heard that her son would not be able to be at home and help his wife to move in. As a concerned mother-in-law, Feng Jia Li decided to come over and look at the situation.

It was hard for Qi Zheng to find someone who are willing to marry him.

Therefore, Feng Jia Li did not want Yun Shu to feel out of place when her husband could not be around on the day she moved in.

Feng Jia Li understood her son's busy schedule and decided to help him look after his wife.

At least, she could not let Yun Shu run away.

Yun Shu was still startled by his sudden visit. It took her a few seconds to react, "Mom."

Feng Jia Li's smile became wider upon hearing her daughter-in-law's voice. She swept her gaze around the living area and noted the vase of flowers and the potted plant.

In the past, she had often thought that her son's apartment was too lifeless. But now that it was decorated with some flowers and plants, the room suddenly appeared livelier.

Her son, Qi Zheng had decorated his apartment in a monotone color. Everything was too bleak and cold.

Now that he had married a wife, Feng Jia Li could not help but wonder just how will Yun Shu added some color to her son's life.

She had already anticipated a few changes in Qi Zheng's life.

"Did you buy the flowers?" Feng Jia Li asked.

"Mmm... I thought that it would look nicer." Yun Shu nodded. A thought came to her mind and she began to worry about it. "Mom, Qi Zheng is not allergic to flowers, right?"

"He's not." Feng Jia Li glanced at the flowers again. "I just thought that the flowers are really pretty." She turned to her daughter-in-law and asked. "Are you surprised that I came to visit? Don't be anxious. We are family after all. You can be more at ease."

"I didn't know that you are coming." Yun Shu composed herself. "Mom, the house is still a little messy with my stuff."

"What are you saying? It's not messy at all. It seemed that you have almost done with moving in?" Feng Jia Li looked around and saw that there were not a lot of things for her to do.

"Mmm... My mother and grandmother came over to help just now."

Feng Jia Li could not hide her surprise. "And they already went back?"

Yun Shu nodded. "Just not too long ago."

"I should have come over earlier. Then, I can meet your mother and grandmother." Feng Jia Li heaved in disappointment. "Fortunately, we will still be meeting this weekend."

Yun Shu could not help but shiver as she thought of the upcoming meeting between the two families in a few days.

She did not know whether she could act very well in front of everyone.

Moreover, her grandmother seemed very excited about it and it was making her worry.

Yun Shu stood awkwardly. She glanced at the kitchen and spoke, "Mom, do you need a drink?"

"Alright. Just pour me some plain water." Feng Jia Li naturally noticed that her daughter-in-law was still feeling awkward around her. She watched as Yun Shu walked into the kitchen and walked to the sofa to sit down.

Finding nothing better to do, Feng Jia Li swept her gaze around the room again.

"Mom, have a drink." Yun Shu walked into the living room with a glass of water in her hand. She wanted to prepare some tea, but she did not know where did Qi Zheng keep his stuff.

But, serving her mother-in-law with just plain water made her feel awkward.

Suddenly, Yun Shu seemed to remember that her mother had filled their trolley with a lot of snacks earlier. "Mom, do you want some snacks?"

Feng Jia Li laughed. "No. It's fine. Mom already eats something earlier. Yun Shu just has a seat."

After a brief hesitation, Yun Shu sat down across from her mother-in-law.

Meeting her mother-in-law's eyes made her feel awkward again. Yun Shu was aware that Feng Jia Li was observing her.

At this time, Yun Shu was hoping that Qi Zheng would come back quickly and save her from this situation.

"Yun Shu, what do you think of this place?" Feng Jia Li asked. "Initially, Qi Zheng bought this apartment because it was closer to the hospital. But if you think that this place is unsuitable, you can always tell Qi Zheng. Let him choose a bigger place. The two of you are going to stay together for a long time. Mom hoped that you would be comfortable."

"Mom, it's alright. This place is quite close to my company. I think living in this apartment is quite good too," Yun Shu spoke. "Besides, there's going to be just us. This space is very suitable."

Feng Jia Li heaved a sigh. "Alright then. A smaller apartment is suitable for newlyweds. Later, when the family had grown, you can consider moving to a bigger place again."

She had obtained a marriage certificate with Qi Zheng a few days ago, but the people around her seemed to be looking forward to seeing them having kids.

Yun Shu could not help but wonder just how will everyone react when she and Qi Zheng separate after a year.

Qi Zheng's family was very nice and welcoming. Yun Shu thought that the longer she spent her time with them, the guiltier she would feel.

It seemed that she will have to discuss with Qi Zheng about a certain thing.

"That's right. Yun Shu, are you busy today?"

"Not really. I'm mostly done with unpacking my stuff," Yun Shu said. "Mom, what do you want me to do?"

Feng Jia Li's eyes lit up and the smile on her face was hard to conceal. "Then, why don't you accompany Mom to a place?"

Yun Shu saw the look on her mother-in-law's face and suddenly thought that this shouldn't be anything good.
