13 Unconditionally

Princess Eleanor sat relaxed as she extended her hand indicating Sir Kit to have a seat as well.

The man was silent wondering why the Princess was behaving as such. She was asking a man to sit with her at a table even when there was not a single servant nearby.

It was a very unusual thing for him. He was silent but soon he sat. Maybe Princess Eleanor understood the unasked questions as she giggled.

"Sir kit should not worry. This is my backyard, my private garden so no one will come to disturb us." Princess Eleanor looked down as she remembered the life she had a few years back. She used to be happy, her friends used to visit her as they had small tea parties at this very table.

Princess Eleanor controlled her tears as she shook her head before continuing. Her voice still had a little dullness in them. "I do not have any power, and as everyone knows, the royal without any power or strength is a burden which no one wants."

Sit Kit nodded his head. He understood what Princess Eleanor was getting at. He could see how everyone was treating the Princess here. It made sense that she needed someone to trust in the Empire.

"The Princess should know what I want." Sir Kit said. His eyes were looking straight at her. Although he was wearing a mask Princess Eleanor could see the slight changes on his face.

"I will go to the Empire but I need Sir Kit's help." Princess Eleanor did not back down. She was confident in her words as she said her demands openly, "I want Sir Kit's loyalty."

"I thought I helped the Princess solve the problem."

"Yes, you did." Princess Eleanor laughed softly as she continued, "But it is a problem if I go to the Empire. If I decided not to go then what will Sir Kit do? Take me without my will? That might work but how will Priest Erasmus react? The prophecy still remains the same."

Sir Kit chuckled. His demeanor turned powerful. His aura excluded a rare killing instinct. The gentle and quiet escort knight that Princess Eleanor knew was nowhere to be seen.

"So Princess Eleanor still wants to threaten me? Who does the Princess think I am? A man that could be manipulated so easily?" Sir Kit's lips curled up as leaned a little forward. "I am the strongest knight of the Roulux Empire. No one can control me and my loyalty is not easy to achieve."

Princess Eleanor was a little afraid. She wanted to have a man like him to be by her side but the situation did not look good. Princess Eleanor closed her eyes as she made her heart stronger. "I want someone to protect me there. If I do not have someone to save me when I am in danger then I will not come."

Princess Eleanor made her stand clear. She knew that she had to go to the Empire. She had to find the truth but Princess Eleanor did not want to look weak in the eyes of the man that sat in front of her.

"And how does the Princess know that she will be in trouble?" Sir Kit's lips curled up as if he was enjoying the situation.

"Even if I do not know that now, I still know that life at the Empire will not be easy." Princess Eleanor could not say that what she would be doing at the Empire would be troublesome. It may be considered treason but it was not the time to come clean.

"So the Princess wants my help in dealing with the other Crown Princess candidates?" Sir Kit asked as he raised his eyebrows.

Princess Eleanor could see the ridiculousness in his tone. It was natural to think that the knight would consider this a problem.

"I do not care about the Crown Princess position." Princess Eleanor sneered in annoyance, "I want protection till the time I return to my Kingdom."

Sir Kit was silent. According to his knowledge, the Princess would not be able to come back, at least, until Priest Erasmus got another prophecy. He did not know if the Princess was aware of this.

"And what if the Princess cannot leave the Empire?" Sir Kit asked in a dull tone. He wanted to know what the Princess thought. A lot of his decision would be around her next words.

Princess Eleanor was silent for a few seconds before her face blossomed in joy. "I heard people are still spotting the eldest son of the Emperor somewhere near the borders."

The words were simple but the meaning behind them was deep. Sir Kit's gaze turned sharp as he observed the Princess carefully.

He admired her courage. She knew what she wanted and she decided to get it at any cost. Sir Kit laughed as he looked at the Princess.

The eldest son of the Emperor was rumored to have died mysteriously at a very young age. Although his body was never found, there was evidence that showed that he was dead. But even after so many years the rumors circulated from time to time that stated that the eldest child was seen.

Although it was impossible. The child was too young and now he would be an adult. There was no way that people would identify him.

"So the Princess wants to die?" Sir Kit asked in a soft tone.

"Yes," Princess Eleanor nodded but her gaze was sharp, "But only in the eyes of others."

Sir Kit was silent. He could not help the Princess in achieving her goal. But he could see the determination in the Princess's gaze.

"I could not give my loyalty but I can promise the Princess that I will help her once. I will do anything that the Princess asks me to do once." Sir Kit said as he waited for the Princess to react.

"Sure, you have to help me once when I ask for it." Princess Eleanor nodded her head. "But Sir Kit should also not forget that he is my escort and he should do everything that an escort should do. My wish and your duties are completely different things."

Sir Kit nodded his head. He always knew that the Princess was intelligent.

Princess Eleanor on the other hand was confident in herself. She smiled softly while her thoughts were focused on Sir Kit. 'I will make you loyal to me. I will make you help me unconditionally.'

Princess Eleanor made up her mind.
