Chapter 11: David's Fight

"ha!" said David

'wow, these horses are good.'

David and the knights ran day and night without a break.

"how long will it take to get there?"

"if we go without a break, we can reach the kingdom in a week,"

said Paulo.

David felt something was wrong.

'we're not even there yet. why do I feel worried.'

"ha!"

it didn't take a week to get to the Hathor kingdom.

David and the knights were at the entrance.

The other knights saw their former captain and were surprised to see him.

"Captain," said the knights.

Mixed emotions are on the knight's face.

'i can't let these knights lose their focus.'

"I'm back," said David

"hurray!" said the knights.

"the captain is back. we can fight the dragon!"

"I always believed in you, captain!"

every one of the knights praised him.

David wore a bitter smile face.

David was about to cry.

'im sorry everyone, I left you.'

"Captain! the King. His Majesty wants to see you."

'here it goes.'

"show me the way."

David walked onto the throne, frightened.

"Your Majesty. Its David"

"come in," said the king with authority

"David." said the king.

"yes, your majesty."

"your back. you're really back!"

tears flowed on the king's face.

The king can no longer hold his emotions.

"How dare you to come back. After taking my daughter, leaving my side, you came back! How, how dare you!"

tears flowed in the king's eyes

the queen sitting behind the king comforted him

the king loved his daughter. he also trusted David.

The king was confident that Hathor's kingdom. Will flourish if David was the one leading the knights.

But all of the king's trust was lost when David took his daughter

"I have no excuses."

The queen kept on stroking the king's head.

It took about an hour to calm the king.

"how's my daughter?" said the king

the king wore a smile

the king stood up and got closer to David.

The king bowed down at David.

"Please help us." said the king

"Your majesty!" said the queen and David, in sync,

The queen and David were shocked to see the king bow down

"your Majesty! There's no need for that. I've come here to help."

"I see. Thank you." said the king.

"I will hold a strategy meeting after this," said David.

"then go"

"Thank you, your majesty."

The knights hold a strategy meeting.

The knights surrounded a big table.

The kingdom's map is in the center of it.

"all of the reserved knights are here," said Paulo

"then let us start the plan," said David

it took another hour to strategize the plan they made.

David and the knights slowly approached the dragons' lair.

'I can't even recognize this part of the city anymore.'

slowly but surely, they gained distance from the dragon

"It's dark red!" said a knight

'the darker it is, the older it is.'

"don't falter! Keep a distance," said David.

They got closer to the dragon.

"the dragon is asleep. Get ready," said Paulo

"fourth unit, Buffs," said David

"High Dexterity"

"Lions Heart"

"Hercules Strength"

"critical damage"

The fourth unit of knights consists of different types of magicians.

They specialize in supporting the team.

Each one of the fourth class buffed David to maximize his single attack.

David slowly gathers his aura to his heavy sword.

The heavy sword vibrated.

'not yet. I need more.'

the heavy sword creaks loudly

A blinding light forms at the heavy sword blade.

"fifth form, swing!" said David

David swung his sword.

The light that David gathered formed into a half moon

and cleaved the right wing of the Ancient dragon.

The Ancient dragon screamed in agony.

the ancient dragon tried to breathe fire,

but the magician combined their mana for one spell

"silence," said the magician

"Charge!!" said Paulo

the second and third units consisted of cavalries

charged at the ancient dragon on both sides.

Each of the cavalries' spears connected to the skin of the Ancient dragon, but it did not pierce it.

"tsk... get back," said Paulo.

The ancient dragon swung its tail.

'splash'

"guack!!"

Half of the cavaliers. been blown away

The other half of the cavalries are scared to move.

"fourth unit!" said Paulo, shouting.

"Lions Heart"

Paulo's trying to regroup the cavalries.

"Where's Captain David!?" said Paulo.

Paulo scanned the area.

He saw David exhausted.

"fuck, he must have used a lot of strength to make that move."

"Captain David!" Paulo shouted

"Give me time!" said David, shouting back.

Paulo leaped at the Ancient dragon by himself

"ha...!"

Paulo tried to preoccupy the Ancient dragon.

The magician aids him with magic.

'i need more. More'

David gathered all the aura left in him.

David showed the fifth stance again.

A blinding light forms in the heavy sword.

"Get back!" said Paulo.

The units scattered away.

"fifth form, swing!" said David

The ancient dragon suddenly moved back and avoided the hit.

The ancient dragon looked David in the eyes and ran after him

David can't move.

All his strength is lost.

"hah... hah..." panting.

The ancient dragon leaped at David.

Paulo grabbed the ancient dragon's tail and pulled it.

"Not this time," said Paulo.

The ancient dragon paid no heed to the man and ran at David.

the ancient dragon pierce David

"Adamant shield," said the three knights

the three knights tried to block the ancient dragons' attack with shields but failed.

"Guak!"

the ancient dragons' claws pierce their shields.

The magicians can't use spells,

They might hit David with their attacks.

The Ancient dragon looked at exhausted David with rage.

"kya!"

A woman screamed.

'there are civilians left?'

David looked at where it belonged.

David saw a woman and child stuck in a boulder.

The ancient dragon ran at the sound

and tried to grab the two civilians.

David saw his wife and child for a moment.

David leaped at the two civilians.

He caught the left arm of the ancient dragon,

"ha!!" he screamed while holding the dragon's arm.

David was trying to hold on.

'crack'

David broke his ankle

he can't hold on much longer.

He lost a massive amount of aura in the first and second attacks.

The ancient dragons' claws stabbed David in the chest.

The Ancient dragon then followed the attack with his right claws.

Paulo caught the right hand

"No. You not!" said Paulo.

With all his might. David pointed his heavy sword at the ancient dragon and stabbed its heart.

"Hap!!" said David.

The ancient dragon drew its last breath and made a suicide attack.

"It's going to blow up! clear the area!" said Paulo

"Captain David! lets..!"

Paulo was shocked,

The dragon's claws punctured his stomach.

If he moves, He will bleed and die.

a healing spell can't heal a heavy damage

"Go! ill try to contain the damage," said David

"Captain! You have a family!" Said Paulo, screaming

"I'll come back to them. I promised," said David

Paulo can no longer convince him.

"take care. Captain!" said Paulo, crying hard.

Paulo ran at full speed without looking back.

'hup!!"

David coated himself and the ancient dragon with his last remaining aura.

'honey, I love you! from my childhood till the day I die. Ares, take care of your mother.'

the ancient dragon blew up, but the impact was gone

that was the day Paulo saw David.
