1 Class Ceremony

In a large church building, twelve teenagers of 16 years of age were lined up behind a beautifully crafted statue. This statue depicted a woman in high quality clothing with immaculate features, this was a statue of the Goddess Flora.

Since humans and monsters had come into existence, the Goddess Flora had granted the humans the gift of Classes and Statuses which allowed them to raise their Levels and get stronger in terms of their stats and skills which were Class exclusive. While the Evil God Krabas gifted monsters the ability to evolve and grow stronger, while also creating dungeons where mass amounts of monsters grouped together.

At the age of 16 year old, humans could pray to an altar of the Goddess Flora to receive their Class and Status. This would determine their futures depending on the type of Class they obtained.

Some classes were more battle oriented in terms of either physical attacks such as Knights, magical attacks such as mages, or both aspects such as Magic Swordsman which would make the Class holder more likely to become an adventurer if they wanted freedom, or a guard if they wanted more stable work.

However, other Classes were more suited to working in intelligence based industries which were normally quite high up, such as General.

The more looked down on Classes were the general life classes, such as Farmer which were not useful except from their specific job.

None of these were viewed as badly as the 'cursed' Class, Monster Tamer. Not only did this class utilise monsters which were created by the Evil God, the Class holder would have to overpower the monsters themselves with no assistance before being able to tame them. Luckily, this class was incredibly rare and not many people had it. Those who did have it though, were viewed with hatred and sometimes hunted by others.

The first teenager, who was receiving his Class, walked up to the statue and put his hands together before praying in his mind. After a few seconds, he was enveloped by a golden light and exclaimed, "Yes, I'm a Warrior, I can be an adventurer!"

This went similarly for the next ten teenagers as it did for the first, with the classes that emerged being very varied:

Warrior: Specialised in using a close range weapon paired with a shield.

Priest: Specialised in healing magic which is much more effective on others.

Fire Mage: Specialised in fire magic.

Blacksmith: Specialised in crafting items made of metal.

Archer: Specialised in long range attacks with bow and arrows and crossbows.

Chef: Specialised in cooking food.

Knight: Specialised in using two handed swords.

Paladin: Specialised in blunt one handed weapons and holy magic.

Monk: Specialised in hand to hand combat and holy magic.

Scout: Specialised in hiding and finding information.

Lumberjack: Specialised in using axes to chop trees.

After these twelve had received their classes, it was time for the twelfth teenager to pray to the altar. This was Leo, a blonde, blue eyed boy from a family that had all gained the Farmer Class for many generations in a row. He assumed he would be the same, but hoped that he could become an adventurer and break the Farmer cycle by gaining a somewhat combat capable class.

He walked up to the altar and prayed as hard as he could before being surrounded by a black light. Upon seeing this, his heart sank. The black light symbolised the Monster Tamer Class, and everyone knew this.

Immediately, Leo ran out of the church and went home as quickly as possible.

Once he returned, his parents were waiting for him at the table and his dad asked him, "How was it son? What Class did you get?"

Leo put on a fake smile and replied, "I'm a Farmer, just like you."

Leo's mom responded, "I'm sorry, I know you wanted to become an adventurer, but being a Farmer isn't the worst thing ever."

Leo responded, "I guess so, I'm going to go to bed for a bit now. I'll see you two in a bit."

He walked up the wooden stairs and entered his small room on the left before closing his door and sitting on the edge of his bed. He put his head in his hands and thought about what he was going to do with his life with a useless and cursed Class.

Leo lay down in his bed and went to sleep for a few hours. However, this sleep was broken by the sounds of shouting from outside and heavy stomping coming up the stairs.

His door burst open after a few seconds, and his father stood in the doorway, "I heard from the other villagers, you lied to me son, you're cursed. I'm sorry to do this, but you have to be removed. Your presence is tainting our village every second that you remain here, you have to be removed."

Leo was confused, "What are you talking about dad?"

Leo's father pointed his pitchfork at him and started making his way towards him, in response to this, Leo jumped out of bed and looked for a way out in fear of his father murdering him. After a second or two, he turned to his window and jumped out.

He landed incredibly badly as he was rushing and did not have a lot of time to think which caused him to injure his foot. With a slight limp, he started running as fast as he could and reached the edge of the village without being spotted by any of the people trying to kill him.

However, he did not stop there as he kept going until he was far into the forest that surrounded his old village. This was a dangerous move, as wild monsters occasionally were found in this forest, as there was a relatively large dungeon inside of it. Leo knew this and still believed it to be a safer option than staying in the village where his death was impossible to evade.

As he had been awoken from his sleep, and then immediately started running for a long time, Leo was exhausted and collapsed where he stood. As soon as this happened, he heard a noise.
