Haruki woke up to the noise, seeing a prompt that was similar to the System inside his mind, though this one had a different tone and a flashier red color instead of the usual blue.

A rectangular piece of paper suddenly appeared in Haruki's right palm, jolting him further awake. At first sight, what he could see was a narrow and circular hallway formed by ancient stone, with torches lining the walls, an elevated platform in the middle, and several doors on the outer side.

Haruki was standing still, as if he had fallen asleep on his feet. But his mind was clear, and the memories were vivid, from rushing towards the Haunt to suddenly being teleported by a blink of the light, then his trial with the recollection of his old bedroom and the pain of losing a dear friend.
