Chapter 26

Its been 5 months since we moved into our new homes and started our new lives. We are no longer on the run. Alejandro has been able to get a job in doing just about the same thing he was doing before just a little different. He is now working for the mayor. I was able to get a job at the local television station. Isaiah and Hunter are both in school and are doing well. They are also joined with Gracie and Hannah. Mr. and Mrs. Villarreal are both enjoying being retired they are doing really well for themselves. Mr. and Mrs. Sanchez work for the local police, Michael joined the police along side his brother Elijah. Iris is a stay at home mom and she also tutors the kids whenever necessary.
Things are going pretty good for us now. We take time once a month to honor those we lost that day. It's sad and it sucks but we do our best to honor them. We have been taking turns these past few months going to each others house and lighting a candle and saying a prayer for those we lost. Our town wasn't that big of a town but it was still our HOME. They were our family. And I know we miss them dearly.
I am sitting on our porch swing watching Isaiah and Hunter play basketball, we are enjoying the fall breeze. And Alejandro pulls up to the house and the boys are so excited to see him. He joins in with them real quick, once the boys kick his ass, he laughs and accepts defeat then he comes to me and gives me the sweetest kiss ever.
"Well hello beautiful." He says after he gives me a kiss and rubs on my belly. "How is my beautiful baby momma doing?"
"Tired, hahaha. I had forgotten how hard it is to be pregnant." I say rubbing my belly.
"Well sweetheart I told you that if working was to much you could stay home like Iris and take care of the kids and I will make sure that we constantly have money coming in." He says.
"No baby I told you, I don't want to do that. I am used to working hard. I have to continue to do that." I say looking up at him.
"Alright woman. Alright. But remember what I said."
"Yeah, yeah I know. I will think about it. Now are you hungry cause I am in the mood for some Chinese food." I say.
"Whatever my lady wants. Hey boys! Come on over here and help me order this food for your mom." Alejandro says and they nod in agreement and they make their way in the house.
We order the food and as we wait for it to get here we all take turns taking a shower. After I get out and we are all freshened up there is a knock at the door and its the FOOD. yum. We all get our orders and we decided to watch a movie while having dinner, we are watching "21 jump street". We are laughing and having an awesome time. When there is a knock at the door.
We still get startled with knocks at the door, Alejandro goes slowly to see who it is and it is John.
"Relax guys its just John." He opens the door. "Hey John come on in."
"Sorry to bother you guys so late at night but I was just coming by to see how you guys are doing." John says.
"We are doing well thank you." I say.
"Well I was just going to recommend that you guys go to therapy. Family therapy, Group therapy, and therapy individually. I mean after everything you guys have been through I think this is the best thing for everyone." John suggest. "And of course we would cover all the costs."
"Well what do you think babe?" Alejandro asks.
"Have you talked to the others? I mean what do they think?" I ask.
"Yes they all agreed that it would be the best bet."
"Well then yes. I mean I think that therapy would do us some good."
The boys agree with me as well and they are pretty excited about it.
"Well when is our first session?" Isaiah asks.
"Tomorrow. You guys will meet with the Villarreal's at their place tomorrow at 4 and that is when you guys will have your first group session."
"Alright we will be ready. Thank you again John. You and your people have been so good to us." I say.
"Alright then you guys have a good night then." John says as he makes his way to the door.
We finish up eating and then we wash the little bit of dishes that we used. Alejandro looks like he has something on his mind.
"Babe.... What's going through your mind right now?" I ask.
" I am just so nervous and excited for tomorrow. I mean tomorrow we are going to be going through so many emotions. We get to see our baby tomorrow and then with therapy it's going to be a lot." He says.
I wrap my arms around his neck and lean in and give him a kiss. "Baby everything is going to be ok. now lets get some sleep. We need to be rested for tomorrow."

We wake up early and get ready for my doctors appointment. I had promised the boys that they could both be there with us when we see the baby for the first time. They woke up before us and were ready before us.
We head to the doctors office and wait our turn. They call me back and they check my vitals and then get me ready for the ultrasound. Right in front of the bed that I am laying on was the tv that shows what the doctor is looking at.
"Alright Ms. Figueroa, let's go ahead and take a look at what we have going on here." That's when he rubs the cold gel on my belly and then takes the wand and starts moving it around my belly. That's when we hear the heartbeat. But then 5 seconds later we hear another heartbeat, I quickly look up at the monitor and that is when the doctor says, "Well Ms. Figueroa looks like you are having twins!"
