One-shot

"Chief! It's the day right? " My subordinate asked when I grabbed my keys and my phone from the table.

"Haha, yeah, so I'll leave a little bit early today," I told them before walking out of the station.

I wore my scarf and a large puffy jacket to protect myself from the cold since it's winter today. I went to the cemetery with a bouquet of white roses.

After walking for a bit, I saw their family gravestone, and so, I placed the flowers there and I took a deep breath before talking.

"Hey, how are you? It's cold here again. Sorry, I only came to visit your grave now.

<gwofw> You might be mad at me right now, haha" I laughed at myself when I thought about Suga's reaction if he's here beside me...

If he's here...

The smile slowly faded from my face as I slumped down, looking straight at his grave as I try not to let the tears fall.

"*Sigh* I miss you, Suga..." I said with a sigh. I stood up after that and I stretched my body to warm it up a bit.

"Well, it's lonely without you here, but I'll manage! So wait for me alright? " I said before I walked away from the grave.

While walking towards my car, I looked up towards the sky, and flurries of snow started falling on my face. It was as if they're patting me, telling me that I've been brave and that I could do it. Or at least that's what I'd like to think.

I went home that day, then I took out the mini player that Suga left for me. Then I sat on the couch and I looked for the date today, and when I found it, I placed the earphones on my ear and I listened to his voice again.

"Daichi! Is the winter still cold? Do you still hate it now? " He stated. I don't hate it as much now, do not worry, I thought while listening to his voice for the last time.

"How is my Daichi doing? Are you doing well at your job? Did you grow into a proper adult? Are you still in touch with Asahi? To be honest, you make me worry sometimes" He added with a little puff on the end.

Your Daichi is doing fine, I'm doing well with my job and yes, I'm still in touch with Asahi.

"Hmm, The date of this recording is December 25th! And this will be the last recording..." He said.

"Well, knowing Daichi, I know that you'll grow into a proper adult!" He said with a proud voice.

The last time that I'll hear his voice.

"Daichi! Can you look outside for me? Hurry! " He said as if he can see me, I shook my head as I started walking towards the window to look outside.

"Can you see that snow? I brought that to you from heaven! " He said then again with a proud voice.

Haha, you did well, my love...

"You better behave! Or I'll hunt you in your dreams" He added with a hunting voice acting as if he's a ghost.

Guess I better misbehave so you'd go to my dreams.

"You're thinking that you should've misbehaved right? You better not! " He said. I laughed at his voice when he said that.

"In all honesty, I-I don't want to die, I don't want to leave you in this cold winter! " He said with a shaking voice. Then he breathed deeply.

"But I can't do that now, can I? " He said chuckling.

There's a bit of pause before he started talking again.

"You know, Daichi, the hospital is very boring, isn't it? I can't go out, I don't have anyone to talk to, and most of all, you're not here" He said.

"But I won't be sad! Cause this should be a happy occasion cause it's Christmas! " He added.

"Well, I got to end the recording now, cause I need to drink my medicine! " He said.

"Merry Christmas, Daichi! And I love you so much! " he said. Then the recording ended.

I can't contain my smile hearing his voice again. I looked out from the window again to look at the snow falling down the sky.

I recorded something while looking at the snow outside.

"To Suga, Don't worry, I'm alright, I am a proper adult. Did you know? Kageyama and the others became professional players, though I did think that they would become one. Asahi and I still meet, not often though because we're both busy with work these days. Nishinoya started traveling the whole world, We all miss you a lot" I said.

"I miss you, I love you, I got to confess, there are times where the winter is very hard for me because you're not here by my side. But I decided to get on with life. Merry Christmas, Sugawara Koushi, I love you" I added.

I turned the recording off and I drank some coffee while watching outside.
