Chapter Six: The Epic Deductions

'Sir,' said the officer. 'We are indeed very proud to have such type of brains in our country. And hats off to you sir for saving the lives of so many innocent kids and for helping us to catch some of the most wanted criminals of Russia. Sir, can I know your name?'

'Well, thank you sir and I am very happy that I could help so many young lives. My name is Ionen Delbis and this is my companion, Mark Nora. And your name sir?'

'Well, my name is General Danny Frenzie Richardson. Now sir, would you mind explaining the entire thing to us?'

'Well sir, before I start explaining, I want you to carefully listen to the conversation between me and Andrew. I had kept the recorder of my phone on while our conversation. He came to me this morning.'

I didn't know about Ionen recording the entire thing. Ionen soon took out his phone and started playing the audio clip. The whole conversation was already known to me. The exact words played in sequence. I and the general listened carefully to the conversation.

'Well sir,' said the General. 'I listened to the entire conversation but didn't understand a bit of the deduction you made from this.'

'Sir, his name was Andrew Das. He also showed his ID card and thus am sure that he wasn't lying in this matter. Now, "Das" is a famous Indian and Bangladeshi tittle. So he was not at least a Russian by blood. His father was surely an Indian or Bangladeshi because I have the knowledge that people in those regions always give the father's tittle to the child. They might have given the child a Western name, "Andrew" for some style. Now, according to the principle of logic, if he came to Russia with his parents, his parents must be very rich because according to my studies which I used to do in my free time, a car drive or a flight journey or a ferry trip from there to Russia will cost a lot.

'But if the parents were so rich, Andrew wouldn't be seen wearing such poor quality clothing and wouldn't be so dirty unless some ancestor migrated to Russia and then they faced puberty. But he hasn't been in Russia for much time. If a person stays in Russia for a long time, he must know few simple Russian words and can speak English in a bit fluent and stylish manner but it was not. His English was very blunt. He hadn't been in Russia for more than a month. Now as he was speaking he was sweating like a waterfall. He was very nervous that he needed to say the correct thing or else something would happen to him.

'He was constantly calling me "Detective Ionen Delbis". This thing never happens when someone just freely speaks. From here I got a doubt that he is been watched by someone. Now someone can only keep an eye into the hall of our home only by the door and by the only pair of windows. It is impossible for someone to watch inside by the door because nobody was inside our house except the three of us. So the only way was by the window. I only had a doubt till now that he was being watched by someone. But when I told Mark to close the window, Andrew just exclaimed and said us not to do that. That time I was sure that he is been watched by someone in the window who would make him suffer if something goes wrong. From here a theory came to my mind that a gang had kidnapped the innocent child from India or Bangladesh and brought him to Russia so that his parents and the worldwide police can never find him or the gang. The-------'

'Wait a minute,' I interrupted him. 'If someone was watching inside our house, couldn't we just notice it?'

'Nope, the sight from our window is the main road and huge skyscrapers. Isn't it possible that someone from the gang was aiming him with a sniper from the high skyscraper?'

'Yes, it is probable. But the man also needs to listen to his words to check whether everything is correct.'

'He had a mike attached inside the collar of his shirt. I am sure of it because when he faced us his back while leaving, there was a rectangular bulge inside his collar.'

'Great, ok, continue your tale.'

'Ok, so like this the child was told, that if he doesn't work for them like that, he will suffer. And after that he told me to come to his home and gave me his address. From here I got sure that the gang wanted me for some reason and just when he went away, I and Mark came here and did everything.'

We all sat there, jaws drop, complete silence. No one could believe it.

'Amazing! Extraordinary!' cried the general. 'Unbelievable!'

'Bro!' I said. 'Fantastic! Why this idea of you being a detective didn't come to my mind before!'

'Thank you General Richardson and Mark.' He said. 'Today only for Mark, my talent came out. Even I can't believe that I can do this.'

'Congrats sir!' cried the General. 'You deserve to be a professional detective.'

'Thank you sir. But though this case is over, the mystery isn't over yet. I till now don't know that why the gang wanted me. Can I talk to the gang once?'
