1 Hearthrow

"Are you starting work today?" Dozzy asked when I phoned him.

It's been two weeks, two days, eleven hours and fourteen seconds since Bin left, and I'm yet to get over my heartbreak. Yet to make an appearance to the world.

"I guess. I can't keep putting it off."

It's my duty to Bin. I know he rejected me as his boyfriend, but that didn't mean I won't do anything for him.

He might not love me like that, but I do love him.

"Are you sure about that? You don't have to do it if your heart doesn't want you to do so." He sounds so concerned.

"You don't have to worry about me. I'm stronger than I look." I force a smile.

It's not as if this is my first time having a heartbreak. Almost all the guys I've had a crush on ended up breaking my pathetically stupid heart.

"If you say so. Are you coming in today?"

I can hear the sounds of a keyboard.

"You're in the office already? I thought you're going to school today?" I checked the day on the calendar. "You have classes on Thursdays isn't it?" I can't be wrong about that.

"Hmm, someone is current about me." He laughed.

His laugh might sound a bit like that of Bin, but it's not the same.

Bin's laughter has an alluring tone to it.

"I'm glad you think my words worthy of Laughter." I stand up from the bed I am lying on, and walk towards my closet.

I guess the days of sulking are over. It's time to welcome the days of working.

Mother will legit have a field day if she gets to hear am I thinking of starting work.

She and her father believes I'm not one to be taken seriously

"Wait a minute, how did you know my schedules?" He asked. A certain tone I can't decipher in his voice.

His words made me recall those happy months I spent with Bin. Months I wouldn't have traded for anything in this entire world.

"Bin once lived with me, have you forgotten? He never, for once, shuts up about you three."

That's one reason why I so much love Bin. He Always puts his siblings first in all the things he does.

He doesn't joke with them at all.

"Oh," Dozzy says after a moment of silence. "I guess I'll see you today, then?"

He left the question hanging.

"You bet that. Expect me there in an hour."

I said before disconnecting the call.

I have only an hour to get ready for my first time working in an office.

*

Taking a very long bath (You can't blame me for that. My bath happens to be the most comfortable in the entire world. There's second to none with it.)

I put on the suit my mother bought for me when I graduated from college two years ago. The custom-made suit still fits me like a glove.

A testament that I haven't gotten fat at all.

Putting on my designer's shoes, I take up my office bag and walk out the door.

Breakfast, here I come!

Ordering bacon and coffee, I drive to the office.

*

Thankfully, there's enough space for me to park my vehicle. If not, I highly doubt I would have been comfortable parking my car across the road.

Parking here is far safer than across the streets.

At least Heathrow has tight security.

Should anything untoward happen to my car, they'll bear the brunt of it. It's not like I am planning or praying about something happening to my car, I'm just assuming facts.

*

I know I've been to Heathrow before (well I never quite entered inside, but it can also be counted as visiting isn't it)but it never prepared me for what I saw inside.

I know Meka is influential, but I never knew just how wealthy he is.

Had I not known who Bin is, I would have accused him of only dating Meka based on how wealthy he is, but knowing Bin made me understand he's not like others.

Bin is a special someone, created perfectly by the gods.

There's none other in this entire world like Him. He's one in a million.

"Your ID card, please", a bulky man in a suit, stops me at the door. He looks like those bouncers you see on clubs with how muscular he looks, don't even get me started on the one he was harshest.

Luckily for me, I always take my ID everywhere I go. If not, it seems as if he would have allowed me inside the office building without proper verification.

I showed him my ID and after a minute or so of identity verification, I was finally allowed fully into the building.

Pocketing my ID card back where it belonged, I chanced a look around the place.

"Wow"

was around thought the moment I stepped foot inside the renowned company.

The gleaming glass windows were reflecting the rays of the Sun in ways I haven't seen before.

The whole decor of the down floor is just out of the world, there was a see-through elevator on the left side and a more personal one at the extreme.

The see-through one I deduced must be the one the workers make use of, while the private one is for the boss.

This one I have no doubt is the one Meka and Bin utilized when they were still here.

The workers went about their businesses in well-made custom-made designer suits, there wasn't an underdressed one among them.

Looking around, the well-kept and organized the place is.

Seeing how well and organized the people here are, really intimidated me. It made me feel as if I'm an imposter coming to play a role that's never mine.

Stop that stupid thinking, Osy. You're here because you're meant to be. Don't forget, this is your duty to Bin.

With the strong conviction in me,

I walked towards the reception area as it was the first thing you see when you look towards the stairs.

"Good morning." A red hair (that's not her true hair colour. I don't have any doubt she dyes those) smiles brightly when she saw me. Her smiles make her look stunning, but not as beautiful as Bin when he smiles.

None can compare to the beauty of the man who stole my heart and hid it away. None can capture my soul as he did.

None…

"Excuse me, sir." She waves her hands in front of my face.

Startling, I turn to give the smug-looking girl a look. "What's it?" I was a bit irritated that she dared stop my thoughts on Bin.

"How may I be of help to you, sir?" She politely asks, despite how loud I barked at her.

I felt guilty.

"Am sorry about that." I smile at her, hoping my smile will ease the burn of my words on her.

"It's not a problem sir." She smiles. "How may I be of help to you?" She asks again. "Are you by chance here for the interview?"

"No." I shake my head. "My name is Osy, and am here to meet Mr Dozzy," I say those words as professional as I can.

"Oh!" Her eyes grew large. "Forgive me, Mr Osy for not recognizing you earlier. I'll take you to Mr Dozzy. He's been awaiting your presence." She pressed a few buttons on her computer. "You're the reason I came down today. I guess I'll lead you up to Mr Dozzy."

"You don't have to bother about leading me there. Just give me the directions, and I'll go there myself."

I don't in any way want to inconvenience her on my first day here. I don't in any way want to be an overbearing boss.

"No, it's not a bother. I'm glad to take you there. Moreover, someone as handsome as you shouldn't be allowed to work this hall for fear of being snatched up by those grabby females." She says with shining eyes.

I was a bit taken aback by the change of tone in her voice. She doesn't at all sound like the same person I walked up to minutes ago. It's like she took a complete three-sixty turn.

"Okay," I answer. It's far easier agreeing to the words she said instead of arguing about them.

"Perfect!"

The workers passing by gave us both a look. Their eyes were on the receptionist who gave each of them a wave, One they eagerly returned.

It's not too difficult to know this female is really popular among the workers.

"Let's go." She walks out of the receptionist cubicle and came to stand next to me. A bashful smile on her face.

"You're popular here," I commented.

"You've not seen half of it."
