60 S2E60 - On the Road Again... Again...

"Alright! That everything?"

I call out to Tony as we finish loading up one of the pickups. He slaps the side of the truck and answers,

"Yep! We should be good to stay for a week straight if needed."

I nod my head and hear Maggie yell something,

"Dad, I'll be fine! You've gone over the plans with us multiple times! You yourself even recommended some of it!"

I look back and see Hershel obviously trying to get Maggie to rethink her decision. She decided to come with us to help clear the place because she knows a back way that'll take us there a little quicker, and won't lead us through any population center.

Hershel looks at her with resignation and says,

"I know… But dammit, let me worry about my daughter! Just… Be safe, alright? Listen to every last word they tell you. They know a whole hell of a lot more about this stuff than we do."

Maggie gives him a smile and replies,

"Of course. Push comes to shove, I'll come back on my own. I promise."

Hershel pats her on the shoulder and gives her a smile before looking over at me and saying,

"Now, Miss Penny, I would hope this goes without sayin', but bring back my daughter, alright?"

I nod my head,

"I wasn't planning on leavin' her! Don't worry, I'll bring her back."

He gives me a nod with a slight hint of worry on his face. After saying our goodbyes, we all load up. Me, Rick, Shane, Andrea, Daryl, Tony, Glenn, and Maggie. The rest are staying just in case something happens at the farmhouse.

Clem grabs onto my shirt hem just before I hop into the back of one of the trucks, and tells me something,

"Come back… okay?"

I look down at her and nod my head, messing with her hair under her baseball cap. I lean down and plant a kiss on her forehead,

"Don't worry, we'll be back soon, Clem. Tell you what… Every night at…"

I look down at my watch and see that we're leaving around 8:34 AM before reaching into my bay and pulling out two radios,

"Around 8 PM, I'll get on this radio. I'll tell you everything that happened and I'll tell you goodnight, okay?"

She nods her head and grabs one of the radios from my hand while saying,

"Uh huh! I understand!"

She holds up her wrist, which has a Hello Kitty watch on it, making sure to see what time it is. I tap her on the forehead and say,

"Also, make sure you're around Amy when I call, alright?"

She nods her head,

"Yes ma'am!"

I smile at her again and reach down to give her a hug, just in time for Amy to come up to say goodbye. I give her a hug as well before saying,

"We shouldn't take longer than two days. The prison isn't a massive one, so we shouldn't have to deal with more than two hundred walkers scattered about."

Amy sighs and says,

"Alright, dummy. Just come back alive okay?"

I smile at her and say,

"I'll try to avoid getting any new scars added to my collection. I may just get too devilishly handsome!"

After saying that, Amy just looks at me with a deadpan stare before snorting,

"Hahahaha! That's definitely a new one! Alright, you dashing rogue, be safe."

I blush slightly at her laughing at me, but chuckle along with her. As I'm about to get in, she leans in closer and whispers something to me,

"I'll be waiting for you…"

Without giving me an explanation, she skips back and joins the rest of the group, leaving me a blushing mess. I chuckle at her and give one last wave to the group before finally loading up, and heading out to the prison.

AN: I'm gonna be getting a wisdom tooth pulled today. I think I'm gonna be taking a week off before getting back into it, so see you guys next Monday!

Also, yes this chapter is short because the next few chapters are gonna be pretty long.
