28 chapter 27 : Surprise
Calvin and his men were on their way back to Lincoln, he was out on Vander, his horse with Rachid when suddenly they heard a commotion in the distance and it was the barking of a dog.
Cal ordered to stop and the others were also intrigued by the barking.
Rachid: It's a dog, we have to save him.
Cal: Do you want it?
Rashid: Yes.
"Then go save him." He said before getting his son off the horse and sending Dahn with him to assist the boy.
When Dahn's daughter Rose became one of the children directly mentored by Calvin and his lieutenants, Dahn had begged Cal to allow him to be trained to be part of the elite of his men and later to be one of his lieutenants.
Cal ordered him to let Rachid manage to save this dog and to only intervene if extremely necessary.
They waited and several minutes Rachid and Dahn returned with a Malinois shepherd that Dahn carried in his arms .
Cal nodded in appreciation before asking Rachid to get the dog into King and asked Dahn to wait...
Cal: How many walkers were there ?
Danh: There were five walkers and the kid was very effective , you trained him well and I didn't have to worry. He's only 11 years old and he can already handle five of these things smartly.
Cal: He's the eldest of my children, he has excellent potential and will succeed me later.
Danh: Even if you and Dr. Reyes had children?
Cal: It won't change anything, I have plans for each of these children under my wing.
Danh: Even my daughter?
Cal: When I was a dealer, we knew how to spot kids who could be useful to us later in the business. They were our eyes and ears in the hood and we didn't choose just anyone. Rose is intelligent and resourceful, she'll become indispensable to Lincoln later.
Danh: Thank you, thank you very much.
"Let's go home..." Cal said into his radio and they continued on their way to the White House.
The group later arrived at Lincoln and Lise was incredibly amazed by what she saw, Lincoln was just magnificent and vast.
She saw patrols in the streets but it didn't seem to rush the people or worry them, almost all of them had been trained in combat at different levels and knew each other well.
Calvin carried Lise at arm's length and she looked at him with amusement.
Lise: I can walk, you know? You don't have to do that Calvin...
Cal: You saved my life when all this shit started, I won't let you limp in front of my men. I should never have left you there...
Lise: I helped a lot, a lot of lives would have been lost if I didn't have my medical skills. Shane would have died saving Dawn...
"Let's go take care of you…" He said taking her to the hospital near the white house while Rachid went to show his dog to Duane and the others.
Cal didn't find Christina at the hospital that she managed, however, and it was Michelle, the former first lady, who told him that Christina had come home because she felt unwell.
He explained everything to the medical staff about Lise who was still shocked at the well-stocked medical equipment there, it was big and clean.
They began taking care of her as a priority and began a series of examinations while Cal immediately went to see Reyes.
Calvin looked for Christina and He found her in the bathroom of their room, she was kneeling near the toilet...
Cal: Chris?
Reyes: You came back...
Cal: I will always come back to you. Your assistant told me you weren't feeling well, tell me-(interrupted)
"I'm pregnant…" She told him while waiting for his reaction with worry, Cal was silent for a while and Christina started crying thinking he was angry.
Cal: Is the child mine?
Reyes: CALVIN!!
Calvin: I don't understand why you would be so worried about telling me you're pregnant if the child is mine. We are a couple and i wanna do everything with you so I don't understand why you put yourself in this state.
Reyes:…
Cal: Talk to me, babe …
Reyes: This is not...my first pregnancy. I loved someone before all this and when I got pregnant with him he was angry before leaving me. He reproached me when I thought that like you he loved me.
Cal: And...the child?
Reyes: (crying) I had a miscarriage...(crying) I didn't want to go through that again, I didn't want you to look at me the way he looked at me that day...(crying)
He looked at Christina crying and said nothing, he got up to go get something before coming back in front of her to put one knee on the ground with a small box in which there was a ring.
Cal: Christina Barbara Reyes, will you marry me and become the only mother of our children? I promise to never reject you and you'll only see the eyes of a nigga in love in my gaze.
Christina first looked at him in surprise before quickly coming to kiss him, crying while answering "yes" several times.
Cal: (kisses) Tell me, (kisses) was the potato salad you had delicious? (kisses) there's some in the rest of the vomit in your mouth…

(40 minutes later)
Cal and Christina were lying completely naked in bed.
Reyes: I'm so happy...
Cal: Sex is a great psychological remedy.
