In the night

Amy walked happily to look for her older sister who had not returned. Andrea told her to stay because she would give Daniel the blankets and she would come back quickly, because it is dangerous for a young girl like Amy to meet a boy at this time of night.

Andrea is being very protective of her since they escaped from Atlanta two months ago. Amy thinks that's cute as it shows Andrea's concern for her. But now she gets a little upset because she didn't allow him to see Daniel when she just wanted to talk to him, welcome him and get to know him better. Now her sister will be the one to welcome him alone.

Amy just thinks her sister is overprotective, she finally got to meet a boy her age after a long time. It's not that children or adults make her feel uncomfortable, but she can't get along with them. It is like a generational barrier, the tastes, knowledge and groups to which they belong are different. Generally, a 16-year-old girl would be better friends with someone the same age as hers, rather than an 8-year-old boy or a 40-year-old adult.

Amy believes that with the arrival of Daniel she will be able to make a friend and maybe something more than that hehe. Amy remembers how handsome Daniel is, he is tall, athletic and has a beautiful smile. She also looks at fashion magazines and knows that Daniel looks great. Amy doesn't just look at looks, but being handsome or beautiful helps you get closer to people faster.

As she thinks about what topics she will talk to Daniel about tomorrow, she reaches the truck where her sister was. It was closed and nothing was visible, as if there was no one, Amy doubts if she was mistaken of place. The doors were closed, there were no lights or even someone's voice. But she remembers her older sister talking about Daniel sleeping in the new truck, and aside from that cool red sports car Daniel brought in, this is the only new vehicle in over 1 month.

Amy turns her gaze and walks around Daniel's red sports car, it's powerful and amazingly shaped. Amy is not an expert but she is very fond of cars, especially sports cars. Although her parents never let her drive, much less her sister that she was afraid that she would crash.

Nobody wants to bathe in fear that water will accidentally enter their eyes or mouth and transform them into Walkers.

Andrea finished showering in 5 minutes, changed into her clean clothes and, now refreshed, held her and Amy's clothes while her little sister showered.

6 minutes later, Amy finishes bathing and both sisters walk to the lake with their dirty clothes in their hands.

Andrea and Amy arrive at the lake, which has a shore lined with small round gray rocks.

Andrea and Amy came close to Carol and greeted her, just like Sophia, Carol is not Amy's real aunt, but she calls her in a loving way.

Andrea, Amy and Carol, wash Daniel's clothes, theirs, Carol and some more, using the water on the shore of the lake.

Andrea, after having washed all the clothes in less than 30 minutes with the help of Amy and Carol, squeezes out the remaining water and hangs them on a makeshift clothesline to let them dry in the sun.

Amy doesn't ask why they even have Daniel's underwear. She even got a bit embarrassed when she saw her sister wash Daniel's underwear, she remembers what she heard last night and tries to focus on the task she has now to distract herself.

The sun is strong and in less than 1 hour the clothes are already dry.

Andrea, Carol, and Amy go back to looking for the clothes to take to their own sleeping tents. They will have to wash more clothes later anyway.

Andrea takes Daniel's clothes to the truck and leaves hers for when she wakes up.

Andrea has a smile and gently kissed Daniel's cheek, after giving him one last look she leaves. But she doesn't realize that Daniel's finger is twitching.

Carol and Andrea seem to have become close friends after this little situation. Now they are having breakfast with some other awake people and they talk about many things with a laugh. In this camp, people prepare their meals.

When Daniel wakes up with tears in his eyes, he remembers dreaming of his grandmother, he wipes his tears, looks to her side and does not see Andrea, it is better, he does not want her to see him in this state. He gets up naked and sees the sun illuminating the truck so it is daytime, his clothes are washed and he orders next to him, he checks that he will not miss anything, he is all right.

Then, still naked, he rolled up the blankets, moved them to the side and began to do exercises, be it push-ups, side crunches, mountain climbers, jumping jacks, squats for 30 minutes. He grabs his backpack, takes out some bandages and water to wipe the sweat from his body with it.

Exercise is important if you want to have a body prepared for everything, especially now in these difficult times.

Then he puts his clean clothes back on, his weapons, and so on. He opened his backpack and ate another can of food with mineral water, he was very hungry and here he will not get a breakfast like before.

When he finished eating, he put down his backpack, opened the back door and went outside, spread the blankets in front of the truck for him to sunbathe along with the bandages, then closed the truck door and started walking towards the camp.
