Chapter 14 Amy's Bit?

It had ad been two weeks since John had found that group of kids. The kids had already become part of the group, Rob had started to follow Daryle when he went hunting, and the other kids had become great friends with Carl, Sophia, and Morales's kids. They would play together each day; the group had started to have some hope that things would go back to normal.

During this time John had talked to Amy every day and they were already extremely comfortable together, maybe it was the fact that John had always liked her from the show and that Amy felt pressured to find someone, who would take care of her or protect her. Or perhaps they just had great chemistry, (Andrea was pushing Amy to get closer to John as he was the only man she had ever liked).

John had also gone to the city each day, killing a couple hundred zombies each day, he would summon weapons from his favorite videogames, including Halo, Destiny, Call of Duty... Yeah, John had summoned a ray gun, he had tons of fun watching the walkers turn into literal goo. Like seriously, have you ever seen someone explode, it was fucking crazy.

Each time John had gone out to the city, he would take the stuff he had collected on his first trip to the city, Eden now having no piles of random stuff inside. Needless to say, the group was very surprised when John had come back with all of this stuff, but they thought nothing of it, as each day he would come back with some walker blood on him. Amy was worried about him the first couple times he went to the city, but seeing him come back safe every time, she had gotten used to it and didn't worry as much.

Even though John had brought back a lot of supplies, the group quickly ate a lot of the food he had brought back. John purposefully didn't take all the food he found in the city, because one he didn't want to stay at the quarry, and two he didn't want to take all the food and make it harder for the group living in the city. The stuff he brought back was mostly everyday products, because he didn't want to make the group too strong.

John had also stopped a situation involving Ed and Carol. Carol was with a group of ladies, washing clothes, when Ed comes walking over and makes a scene. Eventually Andrea had enough and confronts him, Ed shoves her and grabs Carol roughly. Amy tries to stop Ed, but he shoves her, Amy falling on the ground. John seeing Ed lay his hands on Amy bolts over, tackling Ed to the ground. John being so angry, pummels on Ed's face with heavy fists. The group of ladies seeing this were first shocked before trying to stop, although John didn't listen to them, continuing for a couple more seconds until Amy had recovered and told John to stop.

John hearing Amy tells him to stop, immediately listens. He looks down and saw that Ed's face was a complete mess, blood covering his face, his eyes closed from the swelling. John seeing this looks down at his hands and saw them covered in blood, the skin on his knuckles cut open from hitting the bones in Ed's face.

John immediately gets off and looks toward Amy, expecting to see her with a disgusted expression, but when he saw her, he realized his worries were for no reason. Her expression was excited, and she was squirming a little almost like she was enjoying watching him beat up Ed. The other ladies had upset expressions, but before they could say anything.

Amy dragged John back to the camp, sitting him down, she cleans his hands off before bandaging them. John's knuckles were only bruised and cut; he didn't break any of the bones in his hands. They then talked for a while, before she went back to the lake to continue washing clothes with the group of ladies. This was the day before Amy's birthday, and John was glad he didn't screw things up with Amy.

Anyway after 2 weeks of living with this group, John felt that he belonged, and that he should try to help them, only when they need it. He wanted the group to become strong and stop fearing the walkers.

Today was the day, it was finally Amy's birthday. John, who was in his tent, walked out and walked over to Dale, asking, "Where's Amy?".

Dale with a knowing smile, tells him, "They went fishing.", John hearing this says bye to Dale and walks down the trail to the lake. Arriving at the shore, John sits on a rock and waits for Amy to come back. He can see that they are packing up and ready to come back, after about 7 minutes, the girls start to paddle back to land. When they reach land, they see John and Amy walks over, while Andrea walked back to camp with the fish they caught.

John saw the mermaid necklace on Amy's neck, and he had to say it really matched her personality. Talking to Amy for a couple minutes, John then asked her to follow him. They start to walk forward slowly enjoying each other's company, a while later they arrive at John's tent and Amy blushes, getting the wrong idea. John then enters the tent and Amy follows him, but they bump into each other, as John had just gone in and grabbed the bag with the yellow dress inside, before turning around to exit the tent.

With John's unstable footing he falls to his back, Amy landing on top of him, as he had held her, so that she didn't fall on the ground. Amy's face turning even redder quickly gets up but loses her footing, falling onto John, their lips touching. John sitting up with Amy on his lap, looks at her. Seeing as she is completely red in the face, like a tomato, John stands up, bringing her to her feet as well. John says, "That was an adventure."

Amy replying dazedly, "Yeah".

John holds her hand and begins to walk out of the tent, holding the bag in his other hand. John walks with Amy, hand in hand, to the cliff overseeing the lake. John then hands the bag in his hand to Amy. She quickly opens the bag and saw the beautiful yellow dress inside; she took it out, examining it closely, while smiling. Feeling bolder after their accidental kiss, Amy hugs John, saying happily, "Thank you!"

John saying, "No problem.", as he rubs her back gently. Amy then puts her new dress back in the bag before they start walking back to camp as it was already late, around 6 pm.

Arriving back at the camp, they see everyone sitting at campfires, eating their portion of the rations. They start eating, a while into eating Amy stands up, Andrea asking her, "Where are you going?"

Amy replying quietly, "The bathroom", before walking over to the RV and going inside. She comes out, standing near the doorway. Suddenly a walker sneaks up on her from behind the door, grabbing her arm, just as its teeth were about to dig their way into her flesh, a gunshot is heard. Seeing the walker fall, Amy looks over, only to see John standing there with a murderous expression, his eyes practically shooting fires.

This causes a chain reaction, as someone shouts aloud, "Walkers".
