2 Location - Destination

"Atlanta, Georgia, huh." Axel was looking at a map he found in the library of the building. Who guessed a place filled with books could also get you maps of the current region?

He at least didn't think so. But was positively surprised by it.

Come to think about the building. It was really a school he was currently in. Leaving the gym and walking over to the main building sure enough was actually not easy.

You know, zombie world and all that? Apparently, Axel was not yet in the right mind and attitude to adapt to the change.

And the result now is a small horde of about 10 something mixed zombies, ranging from teenagers to adults, clawing at the closed and barricaded door of the library.

Looking over to it he saw that it has been quiet for a while now but he remained on the top of a bookshelf since his senses kinda feel the presence of something shuffling through the many rows of shelves.

Good thing being young enables you to perform much better in athletic feats.

A chair here and a quick jump there and you are mostly saved from flesh-eaters. Not the humankind of course.

It also somewhat surprised him how surprisingly fast walkers these zombies were. He thought that he also had seen some of them sprinting after him in his peripheral vision after running past some classrooms.

"These friends are actually a little bit nastier than the originals.", stated Axel and now saw one zombie walking through his isle.

The dead eyes somehow noticed him and it tried to get him. Shacking the bookshelf in the process.

"Oi, can you not? I am reading over here." Putting the map away he pulled his knife out.

Slowly balancing his way closer to the dead boy he stared at him when he was right above him.

Thinking a little bit he kneeled down. Then laying down he baited the zombie with his left arm.

It immediately grabbed it with both hands. But before it could bite him it got the knife into its head. sending it to the ground, dead for real now.

Axel stared at the corpse for a while and then looked over at his arm. Pulling his sleeve he saw red markings from the pressure the zombie had put on it.

"Strong fuckers. At least the weak point is the same." That made it sure now that getting grabbed by those guys was very dangerous. Especially with the body of a child.

He only pulled this stunt to see how much of a danger that really is. For knowledge, one had to pay at least a risky move like that.

Taking a few books he threw them around and listened to the environment.

"Looks like it's safe for now."

Getting down from the safe place he walked around and looked into each aisle to see if he was right. It was basically a clean swipe of the safety in this rather large room.

With that action, he found an emergency exit and a plan next to it that showed the building and how to exit it.

That brought a smirk to his face. But before he left he made sure to look around the library for any useful books.

Chemistry, Physics, Agriculture, and Geography were top priorities. Especially history books coupled with the geographical ones could tend to reveal information on military camps and stuff or a place to build a new home.

But that was stuff for way later. Right now survival was coming first and being inside Atlanta currently is a freaking death trap.

The first stop he figured out would preferably be some gun store. But his current position was more on the outskirts of the city and escaping zombie hordes was easier at the current time than actually risking his life to get a few guns.

He wasn't even sure if the next store wasn't already plundered.

Logically it should still have stuff because it's only a few weeks since the outbreak. No organized raids for loot should have been done yet.

All things considered, Axel had enough here and needed to walk. He slowly opened the exit door and peeked through. Keeping only a small gap open he waited and listened.

He could hear the shuffling of feet over the floor. Otherwise, it was pretty quiet. it was remarkable how assassin-like these zombies were.

But he knew there were some. That is why he only peeked. If a zombie was right on the other side it would have slammed it shut.

So keeping it up he slowly opened further. His knife ready in his hand.

Not having anyone attack he quickly peeked around the door into the hall and saw three of them. Before anyone could notice him he hid behind the door.

Looking in front of him was the exit and it looked like it was not barricaded. Normal people though would have run for it but Axel did not know if it was closed up with a key.

So he slowly sneaked towards it in the shadow and blindspot of the door since it was not closing on its own and approached the double door that leads outside.

Of course, he was also keeping always an eye on the trio at the far back of the hall.

Reaching his goal the door opened easily and he could look outside, seeing nothing close by.

Looking back one more time through the hall he only shrugged and left the school building. Quickly walking over to a dumpster and taking cover, he analyzed his surroundings. It looked like he came out at the backside of the school.

A tall wall was at his back that he could climb over with the help of the dumpster. But it could very well make too much noise so he first looked at his map again and figured out which way to go.

Making a plan to take sideroads and avoiding the main streets was a given. Actually, he could test out the covered in guts tactic. But he was too unsure of it and would rather not find out that it didn't work at all.

So keeping quiet as possible was the way to go and with this, he would get some experience in sneaking around. Let's just hope he doesn't end up as food.

At least he had a grin on his face because he slowly felt excited. There was basically no sense of fear in him.
