Chapter 24

Lionel Mancini left me the morning after on the condition that I would let him and Tylor visit me for dinner in the evening, just to ensure I am okay.

"I do not think I should be around a kid right now. He might catch something," I told Lionel, fearing contamination with Tylor.

"Don't worry! He is a strong kid. He won't catch anything now that your flu is better. Besides, he has been tearing at my head for a couple of days about visiting you and seeing you. It's better that he does at once before he sneaks out the house on his own, a very strong-headed little boy that is," he spoke in his Italian-American accent, "Pretty much like you." he added.

"Like me? When am I ever obstinate?" I asked, rolling my eyes, half laid in bed.
