THE GUARDIAN PASS
Lian and his group of assassins had to fight off the demon beast that had been stirred up by Reece after he left them the trouble.
" Deal with these demon beasts I'll go after Reece," Lian's voice sounded shaky as he tried to retreat backwards and ran off leaving the assassins fighting.
"You damn brat where do you think you're going?" one of the assassins shouted as he saw Lian fleeing from the battle.
"Just let the coward flee, let's get rid of this pests and do the job we were contracted for, Mica and you take the left side I'll take the right side, the rest try and outflank them and lets hurry the job isn't going to do itself and the master expects the head." the assassin in the lead gave out the instructions to the others as he charged forward to clear the demon beasts.
Lian's heart pounded in his chest as he raced through the dense, moonlit forest. His footsteps were erratic, crunching leaves and snapping twigs beneath his feet. The cold night air bit at his lungs, and he gasped for breath, his breathing ragged and desperate as he raced through the forest scared by the demon beasts.
The forest seemed to come alive as he ran through the forest. Leaves rustled underfoot, and branches scraped against his arms and face. He frantically raced through his breath escaping his lungs and the dry air glided against his face the small icicles in the air cutting through the flesh.
On the other side of the forest near the crystal tower, Kenshin Peak sect disciples had begun launching their assault on the demon beasts that laid on the path. The demon beast sensed the approaching threat and let out a series of bone-chilling roars. It grotesque and twisted, with gnarled limbs and glowing red eyes. Their leader, give instructions and the disciples fanned out each with a task and a target spot in mind.
The Jao sect disciples watched as they attacked from above the sky, silently and assessing their opponents' strengths they watched. The Kenshin Peak sect disciples lead by two of their core disciples, Vandice and Piento, went all out on the ancient demon beast, they struggled to fight it as they continuously launched sword energies and elemental energies.
Out from nowhere Calian, a Kenshin peak sect disciple, came charging and behind him was another reinforcement of Resplendent Sun sect. With a sword in hand Calian charged through like a mad dog with a single aim in mind. They fought the demon beast and managed to wear it down and inflict some damage on it.
With the demon beast tired and weary from the continuous fight the other sects and families who were watching the fight from a far distance decided to join the fight and finish off the beast.
Jiang Han, Katia and the other disciples were now arriving at the tower where they had last seen the ancient demon beast.
"What could be keeping Reece till now, why hasn't he caught up to us yet?" Katia asked persistently as she looked back trying to see if she could spot Reece coming.
"Leave this place at once or face death," The demon beast said as it let out a loud roar that soared through the sky and cracking it open, the other demon beasts heard the roar and rushed over to the tower.
"Just let us pass to the tower and head for the mountains and we can cease this meaningless battle," Piento shouted as he directed more disciples to attack from the rear.
"Let you pass, hahahahaha, you're not worthy of even seeing what's beyond this path, the one whose worthy has yet to arrive you fools," the demon beast laughed at Piento's words as it breathed out fire from its mouth and engulfed them in a ring of fire.
Engulfed in a ring of fire with no room for retreat they could only fight it out to the very end. From a far countless roars, cries and swirling dust clouds filled the air. The disciples watched with a mixture of anxiety and anticipation as the monstrous demon beasts, charged relentlessly through the forest. With their weapons drawn and their hearts steeled, they prepared to clash with the demon beasts, knowing that their very survival depended on it.
The disciples quickly reorganized themselves again and prepared to defend and attack simultaneously with the strongest disciples leading the charge against the large demon beast and the others were on guard duty and killing the other demon beasts.
Jiang Han and the others watched from a far in the bushes trying to sideline themselves from the fray that was ongoing.
"Do you think they'll win senior brother?" Yao Ming asked as he drew out his sword and stood on guard.
The battle was taking a toll on all the sects and families that were involved, though they were able to finally claim victory, but it was at a bitter cost too.
"I CAN'T BELIEVE I DON'T GET TO SEE THE CHOSEN ERA ONE LAST TIME, I AS THE LAST GUARDIAN OF TIANXUN MOUNTAIN FINALLY LAY TO REST. THE ERA OF IMMORTALS HAS PASSED AND ALONG WITH ME TOO, THE DESIRES OF MEN ARE THE EVILS OF THE REALMS. LET THE CHOSEN SON OF DESTINY LEAD A NEW ERA...IT'S A PITY! A PITY ! I SAY...."
