1 Chapter 1: A Void Elementalist

In the city of Eldrion of the Radela country

A city was surrounded by high walls and the gates was being guarded by elementalists. At the gate, there was a long line people waiting to go inside the city. Merchants, adventures, mages, even kids are lining.

A handsome black haired peasant teen was also in the line. He was wearing a formal clothing of a peasant of the medieval times. Tunic, leggings and leather boots. The teen was carrying a knapsack on his back. The teen was reading a book entitled, "Guide to Using Elements" as he wait for his turn in the line. The middle-aged man in front of him finished his interview and left but the teen still stood at his spot.

"Next!," the male elementalist interviewing the people shouted.

The teen flinched and he quickly put the book he was reading inside his knapsack. He then ran in front of the elementalist and waited for the male elementalist's questions.

"State you name and your business in this city."

"My name is Abysmu Voidante and I am here to enroll in Eldrion's University of Elements," the teen said with a monotone voice.

"Okay, wait for a few seconds for inspection and then you can go inside the city," the male elementalist said as he inspected Abysmu by using the inspection ring. After confirming that the teen in front of him was not carrying anything dangerous, he shouted, "Next!"

Abysmu then walked towards the gate that was covered by barrier magic. As he pushed the handle of the gate, the gate opened revealing rows of medieval houses. The streets was clean and lively and the people has happy and joyful faces. If you watch animes, that's the kind of scene that Abysmu was watching right now.

Abysmu then held his knapsack's straps with his two hands and started to walk towards the 2nd tallest building in Eldrion, the University of Elements.

As Abysmu was walking, he observed the city again. Some elementalists uses their elements as a mode of transportation. Some was gliding through ice, some was floating, some was surfing to water and many more. Abysmu then rummaged his knapsack ang got the book he was reading before. He then read again as he walked.

As Abysmu read the book, he was struck by the mechanism of the street roads. He stopped walking and stood still while thinking, 'How was the street roads not affected by the elementalists' elements. It's like the roads has some kind of recovery mechanism below that repairs the destroyed road. "

After concluding his thoughts, Abysmu continued his walking while reading style. While Abysmu was walking, a beautiful teen girl was running behind him. Abysmu didn't noticed the girl and he just kept walking while the people in front of him went to the side like how Moses separated the water of the Red Sea. The girl was wearing noble clothings so the people don't want to get in her bad side.

'Damn this boy!," thought the beautiful teen girl as she has nowhere to run to because of Abysmu's location. She then decided to just bumped on him and said," Damn, I'm gonna be late for the enrollment! My mother's gonna kill me if I don't enroll today!" and continued running without looking back.

Abysmu was flabbergasted at how the girl treated him like he was nothing. Although he doesn't care about that, people also have feelings, they just don't express them too much like Abysmu. He then recalled what the girl said in his mind. Late? Enrollment? Wtf!

Abysmu then quickly put the book he was reading inside his knapsack again and ran quickly towards the university like he was being chased by a rabid dog. He ran so fast he thought that maybe he can travel through time.

Outside of the magnificent university, a group of students was waiting inside a hall inside the university grounds. They were two elementalists that was sitting behind a long table with their respective crystal ball.

"Next tester!," shouted the female elementalist.

A teen in peasant clothing stepped forward and waited for the elementalist's instructions.

"Put your hand on this crystal ball and try to think an element that you really like. If the crystal ball doesn't light with your corresponding element, it means you failed the test. Is my instructions clear?" the female elementalists asked. The female elementalist was wearing a red elementalist robe with the fire symbol on the back, signifying that she is a fire elementalist. The female fire elementalist is beautiful, tall, fair skinned, has black wavy hair and a strict aura emanating from her body. Her name was Elnaya Lithera.

The teen with the peasant clothing nodded and put his hand on the crystal ball. The teen then thought of the earth element as his parents always toil the grounds. He wanted to help them. So he chose the earth element.

The crystal ball then lighted up and a darker shade of brown was floating inside the crystal ball.

"You have good affinity for the earth element. Did you thought of the earth element?" Elnaya asked the teen.

"Really? I just thought that earth element is cool so i thought about it," the teen lied because he thinks that the reason he thought of the earth element was lame and somebody would mock him for it.

Elnaya just nodded and didn't ask anymore questions and said to the other elementalist,"He's excellent for you Edward, he's just like you, an earth element who studies for his parents. Teach him well. Who knows? He might surpass you."

"Okay okay, Elnaya. Don't worry about it. I'll do my best to teach him," Edward Groundion replied as he guided the tester in front of him.

Edward Groundion was just an average looking joe with an average build. Everything about him is average. But his affinity for the earth element was exceptional. He was the best teacher for earth elementalists that wants to study in the University of Elements. Groundshaker Edward was his title because of his earth element affinity and proficiency in using it in battle.

After a few minutes, there was no one inside the hall now except Elnaya and Edward. They waited because a noble's kid will be enrolling today. They want to know which noble's kid and what is his/her element.

Suddenly, the door of the hall opened, revealing two teens panting and gasping for their breaths. The female teen then said while catching her breath ,"I got here first, you lose."

"Okay, you win. Happy? I didn't even agree to your challenge," the male teen replied.

"Reasons reasons you petty loser. Next challenge is elements! If your element is stronger than mine, you win but if mine is stronger, i win. Do you accept?" the female teen asked as she walked towards Elnaya and waited for Elnaya's instructions.

"Whatever, do what you like," the male teen replied while he walked towards Edward's area and waited for Edward's instructions.

After hearing the instructions, the two teens then put their hands on the crystal ball. They both thought of their most favorite element. As the female teen thought about her element, Elnaya's crystal ball lighted up and a dark shade of red was floating inside it.

Elnaya was surprised because the female teen in front of her has a darker shade of red than her, the most powerful fire teacher of University of Elements, Fire Witch Elnaya.

"You have an excellent affinity for fire. Are you from the Belazeron family?" Elnaya asked the female teen with a hint of excitement and her face and voice.

"Yes, teacher Elnaya. My name is Anya Belazeron, the only daughter of Igneo Belazeron," Anya said proudly.

"As expected of the daughter of the Flame Spirit. You'll surely surpass your father if you study well. Come to my class tomorrow if you want to be stronger," Elyana said as she looked towards the other tester. Anya also looked at her rival and thought, 'Why so long? I'm gonna win for sure now so just be done with will you!?'

The male teen was still touching the crystal ball but it looks like the teen has no affinity for any element as the crystal ball was not lighting up.

Edward was looking at him and decided to interrupt and stopped the teen as no one can do anything if you have no affinity for any elements when the ball suddenly lighted up.

Edward was happy for the kid but the joy in Edward's face turned to surprise when the crystal ball's light darkened.

Darkness as dark as the abyss enveloped the crystal ball. You can't even see the floating light inside if you can call it a light if it dark as your future. The darkness inside then permeated outside, sucking the surrounding light. Then all of a sudden, the darkness was now disappearing as Abysmu slowly woke up.

Abysmu then saw the surprised pikachu faces of the three people inside the hall. He was confused why they are acting like that so he asked the man in front of him, "What's my evaluation mister?"

Edward was nothing to say as his mind right now was replaying the scene again and again endlessly while thinking, 'His element is void and it's also the darkest void I've ever seen! Is this the second coming of Abysswalker?' Where if you look deep enough at the abyss you will see someone smile at you' theory maker. '

Abysmu was so confused right now as nobody seem to hear his question. The male elementalist in front of him was supposed to evaluate him instead of just standing there like a statue.

Anya then suddenly shouted like someone who stubbed their pinky toe, "You're a void elementalist!? "
