Chapter 5 : Young Boy

"Madam, I'm so sorry for causing trouble earlier", the thin lady softly said as she bowed down her head.

The madam looked at her and squinted her eyes making an angry expression when in fact she was taking pity on the lady. She raised her hand and patted the thin lady's hair slowly making the lady calm down.

"Take Samuel to school now. He will be late for the assembly", the madam said as she searched for the little boy.

She found the little boy on a stool in front of the bar. There were young ladies staring at him with blush on their faces. While the little boy on the other hand was drinking warm milk that the bartender gave him. He was wearing a black vest and the underneath was white polo, white like the clouds above the sky. A ribbon was tied on the white shirt, making him look like a sailor on a ship. The pants that he was wearing were painted with black like how his vest looked. And he was wearing a white sock partnered with a black boots.

The madam walked near him and patted his head while looking at those young ladies with disgust. The little boy did not notice those fears in the eyes of those young ladies. He was just drinking peacefully, not minding the noise nor the people around him.

"Samuel, Sister Anne will bring you to school now", the madam said softly while patting his head.

The little boy looked at her pitifully, not understanding what the madam meant as he said, "Is mommy not home yet?".

The madam's heart had exploded with the voice of the little boy. She smiled at him and pinched his cheeks. The little boy looked at her, aggrieved. The bartender smiled as he saw the two being a loving pair of family, he knows that the young boy was saved by the other boss who in return called the little boy, Mom.

"Samuel, do your best at school, okay?", the bartender said as he pinched the left cheek of the young boy.

Samuel nodded his head and smiled sweetly at the two adults who were watching him full of love in the eyes. This was his family and no one will be able to change that fact.

It was afternoon, when the class was finished. The clouds were painted orange and pink. The blue sky was teased by both colors making it look like a painting in the sky. Birds flying from and to a place in search of home and food. The school premises were full of running students and some teachers talking while walking.

The young Samuel was sitting alone on a bench underneath a poll of light. He was watching those people who were walking with pairs, either holding hands or just talking to each other. As he lowered his head, in waiting for the driver, a young voice called out to him. He looked up and saw a young boy wearing the same clothes as he is. The young boy looked like a schoolmate of his. The difference between the two are the bags they were carrying. Samuel's bag is a black leather bag while the young boy in front of him was carrying a blue leather bag.

"Hi!"The shy voice of a boy could be vaguely heard in front of him.

As those eyes of the young boy, shimmer underneath the light. Like how a shooting star lights the skies. Samuel didn't know who the young boy was, but what he knew was how it was familiar to him. Those eyes that shine like the stars and the voice that carries warmth. The young boy sat next to him when he didn't say hi back. Sitting obediently while looking at Samuel.

"Why are you looking at me? Is something the matter?".Samuel asked softly, wondering why the young boy was looking at him with curiosity in his eyes.

The young boy shook his head and smiled as he said, "Nothing. It was just that your eyes are somewhat familiar to me".

"What is your name?", the young boy asked him.

"Samuel Sullivan. What is yours?", he answered the boy and asked at the same time.

"Jonas Torres. Nice to meet you, Sam!", the young boy answered him with a smile showing his teeth.

Samuel was shocked by the reaction of the young boy. He never knew him but the way he acted was like how an old friend would greet each other. Jonas hugged him and ran away with embarrassment showing on his face. His face was flushed with pink including his ears. Samuel looked at the boy who hugged him with another shock. As his face was slowly turning into pink. He was embarrassed!

As thoughts rapidly entered his mind, a lady's voice called him out. He turned around and saw his mom who was wearing a white polo shirt making it look like her job was done. She walked near Samuel with a smile while making a bear gesture. Samuel jumped to his feet and ran towards her mom as he hugged her like a bear. The pair of mother-children attracted some people. Those people greeted his mom with respect.

"Did you make any friends?", his mom asked as she put him in the front seat of the BMW.

"Yes. My classmates were good to me and friendly. Girls gave me letters which I put inside of my bag. While the boys asked me why I don't have a phone", Samuel answered sweetly while his mom was driving the motor.

His mom smiled at him sweetly, listening to Samuel talk about what happened on his first day of school. After driving for one and a half hours, they arrived at the club house. The club house looked different from all those clubs. It has a star sign on the logo and a stamp of the police station making it clear that this club is for entertainment purposes only. As her mom helped him remove his helmet, the madam's voice could be heard in front of the opened door.

"Did you have fun at school, little brat?", she asked as she stared at Samuel who was full of smiles on his face.

Samuel jumps down on the motor and runs towards the madam. Hugging her tight as he nodded his head. The three of them walked inside the club. The club now was half full of servants serving males and three bartenders blending a mix of wine on the bar flirting with the female customers. The sound inside the place was a love song and there were couples dancing on the stage. Swaying and turning while waltzing on the stage floor. When Samuel saw them, his eyes were full of curiosity. He never tried to dance. The madam forbade him to dance on the stage floor.

His mom held his hand and they walked towards a door, walking inside and seeing an alleyway. There were doors on both walls and the door to the inner alley was his room. They arrived inside his room within four minutes. His room was simple but had a touch of warmth in it. The bed mattress was covered with white and the thick blanket was black. The four pillows on top of the bed were gray. There were pictures on the wall behind the bed. The bedside table was blue with a small fluorescent lamp. The window was full of flower pots and those flowers were sunflowers. There was a table in front of the window, full of books and school materials. The other side of the bed has two doors for two purposes. One was a door leading to the bathroom and one was the door leading out. In front of the bed, was a mini shelf full of books.

Samuel walked towards the bed and sat down while opening his black leather bag. When his mom saw him, she pulled a chair and sat in front of her child. The little boy held out almost 20 or plus pink and blue letters. He smiled at his mom sweetly while his eyes carried proudness. His mom took the letters and read them one by one in front of his child. Samuel was happy when she saw his mom reading to him. As he slowly lay down on his bed while looking at her mom, his eyes were slowly weakening. His mom saw him and put the letters on top of the table. Standing up and carrying her child towards where the pillow was put. She covered her child with the blanket and patted his head. Making sure that the child would fall asleep.
