1 Aelia

Everyone has a moment, an incident, or a decision they have to take in their life that changes their life completely.

A turning point after which our lives never stay the same.

No matter how much we try to turn our life around to make it normal, we will be too far gone into the mess to make it back.

All of you are here to witness that turning point in my life.

My head spun as the adrenaline from the fight drained out of me, my hand bloodied, my body aching in places I had not known possible, all because of him.

I want to murder him, the anger I was feeling had no bounds, I could have died, and he was standing there laughing.

He will know my wrath, even though my body protested I have to reach him, it was only a few steps, and he was unaware of me behind him before he could notice, I mustered whatever was left of the energy in me and grabbing his hand I turned him to face me and slapped as hard as I can.

He staggered backward.

His eyes widened in surprise when he saw me.

The students around us gasped, stepping backward in fear, fear of what he might do.

Did he think no one would stand up to him as he continued his cruel ways?

I do not care if he is the infamous cold-hearted prince, no one messes with my friends.

The usually cold, distant blue eyes were sparkling with anger turning darker by the minute, his glare piercing.

I could feel his fury as it radiated off him. I have never seen him angry. I doubt anyone has, he is an emotionless, coldhearted jerk who takes joy in other people's misery, their torment.

It was refreshing to see him feel the same anger that is burning in my heart.

I got a sense of satisfaction to see that I got under that thick skin of his.

My anger subdued a little as his left cheek started to turn red, and the print of my hand appeared on his otherwise flawless face, where I had slapped him just now.

He took a threatening step towards me, his large frame towering over me by a foot when he saw the satisfaction in my eyes.

Before I could gloat more about it, my body gave up on me, my vision blurring, a wave of dizziness hit me, and I was falling down, but a pair of strong arms caught me.

And the last thing I saw before darkness claimed me was a pair of blue eyes.

2 HOURS BEFORE

Today started as a fine day, me, iris and Theo were going to meet today for lunch and were planning to take a look around the academy together.

I had settled into my new room and was excited to start the classes tomorrow. Everything was going well when Iris vanished.

She went to grab a quick snack from the cafeteria and hadn't come back since.

It has only been a day since we arrived at the divine arts academy.

She hadn't left my side since now she was gone for an hour; I was worried and went to look for her, searching everywhere asking anyone who might know her to no avail, no one had seen her, then I found out that she was last seen with Ashley the blonde girl whose only purpose of living is to make everyone else miserable.

Iris doesn't like to go anywhere near her, to make sure she was alright I hurried, only to find Ashley with Drake and his lackeys, she always sticks to Drake like he is honey, and she is the bee, the bee part is right, she does sting, though drake is not even near anything sweet he is a poison.

My parents are royal sorcerers who are rarely home, I have been to the royal palace a couple of times and crossed paths with him several times.

He had ignored me every time. At first, I thought he didn't like me, but then I found out he doesn't like anyone, his cold gaze looking over everyone like we are not even worth his time.

I was aware of his notorious reputation as the cold-hearted prince, the girls fawn over his beauty, even when they are aware of his cold heart.

They were snickering, "You picked the right punishment for her. She dared to insult you she will know what happens to those who dared to insult you." Ashley said, staring proudly at Drake.

I do hope she is not talking about Iris. When she spotted me, a smirk appeared on her face.

"Look her "friend" came looking for her." I realized that she was talking about Iris.

"Where is she?" I asked. Something wasn't right. When did Iris insult Drake? If it was true then she could be in serious danger.

"She will never find her," Percy said, from behind her. he is a perfect fit in their group.

"She is in the forbidden crypt," Ashley said with a sinister smile.

There is no way. How can she be in that forbidden crypt?

There is a crypt in the basement of the academy.

As soon as we entered the academy there was a warning given to all the students not to go anywhere near the basement.

But everyone knows that there is a crypt in the basement, and many claimed that they have heard disturbing noises coming from the basement.

And if anyone gets caught in the basement we will get expelled from the academy.

They must have tricked her somehow to go in there.

"How long has it been since she has been in that crypt?" she asked the students behind him. "An hour," they replied.

Turning to me she said, "Do you think you will be able to save your friend?" she paused, "Maybe she is already dead." she said making me want to squeeze her neck.

I am not above murdering her. Drake stood there smirking; he was the reason she is in there; he Is the one that orders them, and they only do what he says.

I gathered my gown and ran towards the basement door, I ran as fast as I can, my heart beating wildly in my chest, what if something happened to her.

Passing the manicured shrubs, I went around the statues of the angels displayed in the gardens, it was still not fast enough.

I will make him pay for this.

How dare he? I had known he was cruel, but this is on another level she could die there in the basement. How can they just leave her to die there?

I was unaware of what I was getting myself into.

No one and nothing could have prepared me for the challenges I will face.

There will be only two options to fight or flight.

My parents didn't raise me a coward, I will always fight, and I will not let him win.
