1 1| I'm dying, But at Least I'm Dying in the Arms of a Handsome Man.

Elynora was woken up by pain.

Everything hurt. Her whole body felt like it was being ripped apart. Just one slight movement and her body, riddled with deep wounds, elicited extreme pain from her toes to her head. There was not a single place that wasn't bleeding through cuts.

She wondered how she ended up here.

She was driving. A bike had come her way and, in a panic, she stepped on the brakes, but her brakes failed and by the time she turned her steering wheel, she crashed into something else and she lost consciousness.

Now that she woke up, it seemed she had no chance to stay alive anymore. With this much damage, it would be a miracle for her to stay alive for a few more seconds. She had no regrets, though.

Why?

Because she was lying in the arms of an extremely handsome guy with dark blonde hair and pretty ruby eyes. He had sharp features that were all soft now, probably in worry over her condition.

'I'm dying, but hey at least I'm dying in the arms of a handsome guy.'

He dressed as if he came from a cosplay con, but that was okay; it just made him look more handsome. Weirdly, he looked very familiar to her, as if she knew everything about him.

Was this the feeling of meeting a soulmate?

Suddenly, her head was ringing as if alarm bells went off right near her ears and she winced.

[Warning: This is the male lead, host. You are not allowed to make moves on him. Absolutely not!]

Male what now?

She vaguely saw a blue transparent panel right in her face.

It seemed only she could see it, as the handsome guy was still worrying about her.

[Congratulations on transmigrating into

'A Fairytale Ending for the Princess']

The panel faded, and she lost consciousness, failing to read the rest of the words.

...

[Alert! The relationship progress of the main characters is worsening again! Progress: -20% ]

Elynora was woken up by the extreme ringing in her head this time. And when she woke up, the blue panel still hadn't faded. Instead, it had small red panels covering it [Alert!] and [Warning!].

Surprisingly, she wasn't in any pain. Her head just felt a bit heavy, as if she was underwater, but it was much better than feeling like she was dying.

She waved the red buttons away and took her time reading the info on the blue panel.

[Congratulations on transmigrating into

'A Fairytale Ending for the Princess' as a side character. As the author of this world, you have been specifically chosen by the 'Author of a Million Worlds' to fix this particular world.

Because of your sloppy writing and plot holes, the content of this world has veered off control, and you are responsible for fixing it. We, the streaming system managers, hope you won't let down the Great Author.]

Elynora came to a realization.

Ah, she had transmigrated.

And into her own book at that.

Screw me.

'A Fairytale Ending for the Princess' depicted a fluffy fairy tale, but it took place in a world where demons were rampant, and the male protagonist a regressor, someone who had gone back in time to change the terrible future of the world.

The main character, Calor Draken, was the eldest son of a demon hunter family. He was engaged to the eldest daughter of the prominent Duchy of Veritas, named Arabella Veritas.

It was at the starting of their engagement that the sealed away villain, the Demon King, showed signs of awakening.

The demonkin, took advantage of this and started to cause chaos in the empire of Kainosia, where the protagonists lived. The protagonists then formed a squad of talented individuals, leveled up rapidly, took down the demon king and lived happily ever after.

The process was exceedingly smooth because the male protagonist was a regressor. Someone who regretted his past and devoted his present to the female lead. That kind of devotion won the hearts of many female fans and led to the book becoming a hit.

That was supposed to be the story.

There was never a mention of a grievously wounded female side character being saved by the male lead. She was the author. After all, she knew this. What did the system mean by fixing the world? Wasn't it already a perfect world? Did her appearance cause changes in the future?

Elynora did not know.

Her mind filled with these thoughts as she heard a calm but icy male voice arguing coldly with a strong female voice.

She naturally ignored it. She had much more important things to think about, after all.

'Hey system, I'm supposed to act as the supporting female character who is a stepping stone to improve the male and female lead's relationship and then I'm done with my job, right?' She asked in her mind, hoping that the 'system' entity would respond.

[Main Quest:

Assist the world to reach a happy ending (HE) by preventing the protagonists from breaking up. Mission progress: -20%]

Eh? This was basically a perfect world. Wasn't this just asking her to eat the cake someone else made? But why was the progress bar weird?

[Side Quest:

Achieve world peace by preventing the villain from destroying the world. Mission progress: 0%]

Again, wasn't that the protagonist's job? She just had to sit on the sidelines and watch.

Suddenly, she felt a sharp pain in her head, and a torrent of information came rushing into her mind. The information overload made her nauseous. Her name was Elynora Veritas, the younger cousin sister of the female lead and the childhood 'sibling like' friend of the male lead.

She, being in love with the male lead, but watching him get engaged to her sister, became jealous and bullied the female lead with words. The female lead also believed her words because Elynora was so close to the male lead as her childhood friend and was always jealous of her, too.

As the information stopped flowing in, Elynora came to understand that the world was different from what she had written. In her novel, Elynora, the female character had already passed away without her name being mentioned. There was no mention of her being saved by the male lead.

She had a fleeting suspicion.

She opened her eyes to the two figures that were arguing.

One was the handsome male lead who was still carrying her, and the other the female lead she recognized from memories she obtained suddenly. She confirmed her suspicions.

This was the past which the protagonist regretted. Not the perfect future.
