The Villainess?

How did I get here? The last thing I remember was falling asleep after finishing the book: Trials Of Love. How did I become the villainess Camilla who has the same name as me? **************** Our female lead, Camilla used to be a very extrovert person who had many friends and was socially liked by everyone. However, after her parent's death, she was assigned to live with her Uncle and Aunt. Over time she slowly distances herself from her friends as she believes that she doesn't deserve happiness. She thought that she was the reason her parents died. Back then her parents died in a car accident when they were speeding toward the hospital where she was kept. On that very eventful morning, she had accidentally burnt her hand during food tech and was rushed straight towards the hospital. When her parents heard they too rushed over there hence they got into a car accident and eventually passed away. The only thing that would bring her happiness was that one book her parents left for her: Trials of love. It talked about a young boy named Damian who grew up in poverty but eventually became the grand duke of the Thedo empire. The Thedo empire was named after the first King founder of the empire. Damian grew to love his housekeeper's youngest daughter Eveline. The two had to go through many trials until they earned their happy ending... Of course with the occasional villainess ruining the happy pair. But who would've thought that our female lead ended up as the villainess? The character she hated the most. Camilla Rose Avery was the lost daughter of the present King and Queen. Camilla had been stolen when she was a year old by a maid. She was found by her older brother when he ran into her in an orphanage on one of his royal tours. Her love for Damian meant that she would try to kill Eveline. Because of her evil deed, she ended up being banished to the eastern empire when Damian became the grand duke. He married Eveline and then the story closed. Ella transmigrates into Camilla. However, there was still time to fix everything. She would be kind to Damian in the hope that he would remember her kindness in the future. Our female lead has decided to change her destiny so she tried very hard not to fall in love with Damian. However, the storyline seems to be changing. Why is the male lead running after the villainess this time? ********************************************************** Please vote for this book as I've entered a completion with it. Chapter 45: Comfort him:

Still in Lexi's POV:

"When I accepted the mission it was because of some selfish reason. I wanted to go and see my mother again. His Majesty knew this so he pretended to ask me to help the refugees but also allowed me to see my mother. Your grandmother divorced your grandfather and moved to a nunnery to pray for me. Your mother also understood my wishes so she didn't say anything when I told her I was leaving. That was my worst decision. I should've stayed at home, I knew she was already 8 months pregnant," explained Father.

I watched as his face began to crack and tears began to form in his eyes. I've never seen him cry before. I would never imagine that he could cry. It seems that he actually had emotions. Most of the time, he was always the stern and cold grand duke. It seems like this image of him crying wasn't seen often by anyone. I wonder if Mother ever saw him cry.

Watching him cry I felt a bit bad so I stood up and walked up to him and gently hugged him. He gasped in shock however he still hugged me tightly and whispered "Lexi, I'm sorry. I never realised how my actions had such an effect on you. I'll try to change it. In the near future I will talk to you much more often and care for you. Hopefully, this will all heal your broken heart,". He hugged me tightly and began to rock me as if I was a baby. I'm 10 for goodness sake. But I still didn't push him away. I didn't have the heart to right now.

I got off his lap and he looked a bit sad but managed to pull himself up. I grabbed my chair and brought it next to my father's chair. And there we spent a good hour or so to talk about everything. Everything we like and not like about each other...

**********************************

Grand Duke's POV:

I just broke down after I told her everything.

How shameful of me.

What would she think of me as a father?

I never knew she felt like this.

What sort of father am I to have never realised all of this?

Thankfully it's not too late now.

I can still make it up to her.

This conversations had helped us to know each other better is actually quite helpful.

Listening to her, I can see Kathleen's shadow in her. Even their interest is the same. Well, they are mother and daughters, so I guess they'll be similar.

"Father, why did you name that boy as your successor?" she asked gently. I sipped my tea and smiled inwardly. I knew this question was coming. to be honest the answer was very simple. "The law states that a woman is not allowed to inherit a dukedom. If no male heir then the dukedom would go to the nephew or cousins. I didn't want them to inherit the title and I already know that both those nephews are eyeing this title already. Hence, I found a random person to inherit my title. Don't worry I'll make sure in my will you'll have all my assets but not my title," I replied. I watched Lexi's face and realised she was a bit angry but still comforted that I would leave my assets to her.

We finished talking and I opened the door to find Camilla talking to one of the maids. She looked at me and greeted me by nodding her head. I was going to talk to her however, she zoomed past me to look for my daughter. I signed inwardly. Was I being rejected now? Gosh. Camilla chose my daughter over me. I'm hurt.

I signed again and turned to look at them both. The door had shut again. Seriously. That quick? I looked at the trembling maid and muttered "When they come out tell them that we'll all be having a family dinner tonight to welcome Damian,". The maid nodded and I headed off to see how Damian was doing.
