20 The Three Sisters

Evadne sat inside Junia's study, she opened the communication orb, she had sent Junia a message about Elvira's kidnapping incident and is waiting for Junia to contact her. She waited for a while but the orb did not light up, she tried to contact Junia directly but the orb did not connect with Junia's orb. Evadne frowned, she tried again after a while an eagle entered through the window and morphed into a human.

"Seraphis!" Evadne stood up and approached Seraphis.

"My Lady Saintess!" Seraphis bowed in respect to Evadne.

"Where is Junia?" Evadne asked.

"She stayed in the capital, she sent me as soon as she saw your message." Seraphis replied and then inquired. "What happened to Elvira? Is she okay?"

Evadne is a bit upset hearing Junia only sent Seraphis. "Why didn't she come? Something big happened to her daughter and she won't even show up?"

Seraphis sighed. "She wanted to come but she is currently on an important meeting, she could only send me, her shadow guardian."

Evadne got angry. "A meeting is more important than her daughter?"

Seraphis remained silent.

Evadne is angry but had no one to vent, she can't scold Seraphis because she saw the sincere worry he has on Elvira.

"Nevermind, the kidnappers were all dead, they killed themselves when we caught them, it seems to be a suicide spell. Even the one who tried to harm Elvira and stabbed the Duke's Heir died after I knocked him out." Evadne told Seraphis the events when she arrived at the scene,

Seraphis listened and his face became cold at the mention of the suicide spell, it is a forbidden dark magic. His face got even worst when he heard that Elvira is almost injured.

"I am also worried about the young Eardwulf, and Elvira seems pretty concerned about that child. I haven't told her that he is hovering between life and death. My healing magic is ineffective with him." Evadne added.

Seraphis frowned. "That brat has high resistance to healing magic?"

Evadne nodded. "His body repelled all our attempts to heal him. In most cases, healing magic is repelled because the magic user's body has developed its own self-healing abilities, but in his case, he repelled my healing magic but his body is not yet capable of self-healing. He is not in a good condition, I left a priest by his side who is adept in using the traditional way of healing, stitching the wound and feeding him medicines with the littlest amount of healing magic his body could accept."

Seraphis sighed. "For Elvira's sake, he better survive."

Evadne turned her body and walked towards a sofa and sat down. "Seraphis, about Elvira... Is she..." Before Evadne could complete her sentence, Seraphis already cut her off.

"My Lady Saintess, nothing is proven yet, as far as I know, she is Elvira." Seraphis seriously replied.

Evadne shook her head slowly. "I'm sorry, I am just a bit anxious. Of course, we can't risk it when it comes to Elvira."

Seraphis bowed. "Then, I shall go see Elvira now."

Evadne waved her hand. "Go, but be quiet she is still resting. I also need you to confirm something for me. See me after you have seen Elvira. I think you'll know what I mean after seeing her."

Seraphis then disappeared from the study.

Evadne then closed her eyes. "Junia, what exactly are you thinking right now? Are you not even concerned for Elvira?"

Then she sighed. "It would be nice if Aureliana is here, she would be able to protect Elvira well."

In Elvira's room, Seraphis appeared out of thin air, he approached Elvira and his eyes turned grim. He could sense Black Magic on her, someone cast a spell and attacked the soul inside her body.

They have yet to ascertain who the soul inside Elvira but an attack has happened to her. Seraphis did not like it.

He stared at the young girl sleeping in the bed.

'I promised Junia that I will protect you but things kept happening and without me here, you keep getting into unexpected incidents. First the drowning incident, and now this kidnapping incident. In both cases, something happened to your soul. The first one, your soul seems to change, and now your soul is damaged and has traces of black magic. This cannot continue, without Junia by your side, it seems that I have to stay.'

Seraphis made up his mind, using her promise with Junia, he would not return to the capital and stay with Elvira.

He quickly left and returned to Evadne and confirmed with her that black magic is used against Elvira. He also informed her of his resolve to stay with Elvira as it would be difficult for her to survive another attack without the help of a shadow guardian.

He sent a message to the Capital quickly and made preparations for his stay, he needs to temporarily live away from Junia so he needs a vessel where he could stay.

Evadne proposed for him to live in the bracelet she would give to Elvira.

Before the evening passed, Seraphis is settled to live with Elvira from within the bracelet.

In the Capital,

Junia who received Seraphis' message, granted him permission to stay, she unbound him from her necklace to let him bind to the new vessel he found there.

After doing it, the woman walked through a secret passage and into a hidden room at the heart of the Parall mansion in the City.

A bed can be found in the center of the room, surrounded by four pillars. The woman touched each pillar, reinforcing the pillars with her magic, then she approached the bed and a person can be seen lying there sleeping. She cannot leave the Capital easily nor stay away for too long, she needs to stay and maintain the barrier in this room.

She looked at the person on the bed with gentle and longing eyes, the person who laid there looked exactly like her. Soon Junia's features slowly changed, her black hair turned brown and although they have the same misty brown eyes, the original sharp eyes are now expressive and sad. They still looked a bit similar but no longer exactly alike.

She slowly kneeled and held one hand of the person lying in bed. "I am scared sister... I don't know what to do anymore... When will you wake up?" She kissed the hand she is holding and tears came out of her eyes. "Junia... I'm lost... I am even lying to Evadne... I told you... I am not capable of taking care of Elvira... so please wake up! Elvira needs you... I need you...so please... wake up!"
